    That combat experience is spot on. The game really forces you to choose every options available. When you're unlucky with the last encounter where you waste many ammo, suddenly stealth became a very tempting option to thin out enemies in the next encounter. Getting rough with low damage and no explosives for crowd control, now you scour every single "red means boom" you can find with your eyes. And it's somehow felt good rather than demanding, it's actually amazing

    As for the Last of Us comments regarding gameplay, I think it's a pretty valid argument for lower difficulties. That being said, if you haven't already tried, I would go back to one of those Last of Us Part 1 or 2 encounters and try it on Survivor mode. Don't restart if things go south, just roll with it and see what happens. The limited resources cause you to use so many weapons and tactics in your arsenal and I think you'll find moments similar to RE4 when you do that (at least I did). Love the review and can't wait to give RE4 Remake a go here soon!

    Excellent analysis of Ada's tone and demeanor. I would also add that she's *trying* to be distant and cold rather than bored altogether. Since the events of RE2, she's had time to reflect: she got shot while backing down from shooting Leon, and she nearly lost the G sample. She got distracted, faltered, and almost failed her mission, which is something she doesn't believe a consummate professional should ever allow to happen. And it's not a stretch to think that she may have put the blame on her bond with Leon. So, she decided at some point that if she ever met Leon again especially while on a job, she wouldn't let that get in her way. She decided to be cold and detached and mostly succeeds, except that her intentions, decisions, and actions betray her anyway. She obviously still cares for Leon, and to an extent doesn't want an innocent college girl to be doomed to the fate looming above her. There is a struggle between these two sides - the outwardly distant and all-business Ada, and the inwardly human and emotional Ada. And Lily's voice acting captures one side of that very well.

      @@mihailnikolov5535 I’m guessing what they mean by “mature” is that his character actually feels somewhat logical here than in the original RE4. In the OG RE4, Leon was a witty badass for the sake of being a witty badass. There really wasn’t a reason for him to be how he was in the game, he just was because it was fun. But in RE4 Remake, Leon actually has a reason for being how he is. It’s because he’s grown numb to the world due to Raccoon City and the government forcing him to work for them. Leon’s not witty because of he thinks it’s overly funny or because he thinks he’s some superhero, he’s making jokes to mask how he truly feels, and you can tell and feel that in the Remake. Leon being a badass and being able to survive the swarms of the village also feels more believable in the Remake, as not only does the game reinforce the idea multiple times that he is top-teir military trained, but by the fact that he actually needs people’s help during battles multiple times in the game (such as the giants and the bossfight in chapter 11).

There were a couple lines that I thought could’ve been delivered a little better, but I don’t think it was the VA’s fault, more like the director who didn’t do enough takes or choose the best ones. Most of the delivery worked for me, though. Ada sounds like she’s been through some shit and has taken on a jaded front to mask her fractured moral compass and whatever trauma she’s repressed along the way. It works for me. @@jonahbrown5669 Absolutely not, GoW is a risk-adverse corporate product that fuses together tried and true mechanics to create a competent but overall somewhat soulless game. It doesn’t even belong in the same discussion as a game with as much color, personality and soul as RE4 (2004). Not to mention RE4 was objectively more influential in every way, considering it literally invented third person shooter over-the-shoulder camera and gameplay. Which God of War uses now, lol.

    I LOVE TLoU combat and stealth, especially in Part II. It’s some of my favorite gameplay ever. The way it transitions so seamlessly between stealth and open combat, the sheer diversity of options and how dynamically everything can change mid-encounter, along with the super fluid animations and cinematic melee attacks is totally captivating to me.
    All you have to do to remedy the “game not pushing you to engage with all of the mechanics” is up the difficulty. It’s that simple. On Survivor and above, ammo and resources are incredibly scarce and enemies are so perceptive and persistent that stealth becomes a terrifying and delicate dance. Playing on Survivor and then Grounded in both games, each encounter was a nail-biting, tense, dynamic experience where I used every mechanic available to me and pulled through by the skin of my teeth…

    RE4 has always been my all time favorite ever since my first playthrough back in 2006. Never have I replayed a game as many times as I have RE4. Even though Capcom has been knocking it out of the park lately with the RE series, I was a little worried it wouldn't hold up to the original or it might stray a little too far from what made RE4 so good. I Just finished my first playthrough and it was incredible. So true to the original content, but a refresh in every way. Super glad you enjoyed it and are retroactively experiencing the magic of the original.

      @MrWhygodwhy Год назад

      @@teeman7137 It has been fairly standard for some time now that for western AAA titles, 'normal' is meant to be the 'light engagement' option that will get most players through the story without much friction. You need to play on the hard difficulty or higher for most western AAA games, and many of them even specifically recommend that if you want the gameplay to be engaging. Honestly, this is even true for plenty of Eastern games for sometime now.
      Players like Skillup should not be defaulting to 'normal', especially now that swapping difficulties on the fly is more or less standard for most AAA's (something RE4make is actually notably missing). If you have been playing ANY AAA title like this for a handful of hours and find the gameplay not engaging enough, help yourself out and bump up the difficulty.
      For comparison, I guarantee you won't hit the same fun zone in RE4 playing on Assisted. The difficulty you select matters.
