I don't understand the hype behind the shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie, it just didnt work for me. My curls were not defined at all and was so limp and feel greasy after two days
I was so confused by all the positive reviews online, bc when I tried it, it was horrible. I found out they changed the ingredients at some point. And the smell is too much.
Coconut oil (due to its known benefits for hair and skin) was the first popular oil that naturals used before trying others. I am a 90s natural and we all swore by coconut oil lol until some realized it wasn't great in their hair and started using other oils.
I used to swear by EVERYTHING Cantu when I first went natural now it doesn't do anything for my hair. I don't think it's trash like many say I just think that once you've transitioned it isn't as effective. 1.Hello hydration (Herbal Essences) 2.Eco Styler anything (my scalp can't handle it anymore) 3. Carol's Daughter...All of them ugh I was so disappointed 😥EXCEPT for the hair mask from the almond milk line. 4. All brown protein gels=dry city 5. Coconut oil...I tried to love it but had to just be real and let it go. Great for my skin,terrible for my hair. I could go on because I'm a recovering product junkie😂😂 I probably will think of more later.
It’s definitely a product I still enjoy!! I just realized I haven’t been using it as often 😭 but after doing this video it reminded me how much I used to enjoy it.

One product I used to love but can’t use anymore is Eco Styler Black Castor & Flaxseed Oil Gel. I’ve found way better gels and I’ve come to realize I prefer how my hair feels with natural gels. I don’t have to work as hard to keep my hair moisturized with the natural gels. It’s health over hold for me lately!
Same, it was the one eco styler i actually liked for a full wash and go. Now i rather use a gel with actual slip and worked well with everyrhing. My new ALL TIME HANDS DOWN favorite gel is the Natures Protein Styling and setting gelee 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
The Wetline Xtreme Gel does make your hair super dry more drying then my Eco Gel so I just recently stopped using it as well. Plus it causes flakes on my edges and thats a no go. Love this video. PAST
Past! The curl enhancing smoothie never did much for my hair. Never penetrated the hair shaft, just sat on top of my strands. Thanks for the heads up on the wet line gel. Haven’t used it but was definitely thinking about it.
Shea moisture changed the ingredients a while back. It never defined my curls. I mix it with a little bit of water and use as a moisturizer. BUT for my sons hair, It defines his waves. I was struggling with his hair for a while. I started using the smoothie in his hair every night, nothing else, and then put his little Du rag on. Soft wavy hair every morning.

Past 🚫🚫 I agree with the Wetline. I retried it yesterday and my hair feels terrible. I used the exact same products on my wash & go last week and had pillow soft curls for 8 days but added wetline my hair is dry and crunchy on DAY 1. 🙄
Past 🚫 I loved the Cantu Leave in for natural hair when I first tried it, but then it dried my hair out and caused a bunch of tangling and breakage. Apparently I’m so glycerin sensitive I cannot have it ANYWHERE on the ingredient list of leave in products. I gave it to my husband, and it seems to work pretty well for him. I still like Kinky Curly Knot Today, but I discovered diy catnip tea rinses that are sooooo much cheaper, keep tangles to a minimum all week, decrease friction between hairs all week (not right after applied in the shower though-it’s tangle prevention, not a detangler), and has decreased split ends. The KCKT had to be reapplied once or twice mid-week and it’s a lot more expensive, so I’ll use it up but probably won’t repurchase even though it was a holy grail. I know I’ve mentioned catnip rinses in your comments before, but the stuff is seriously awesome! And no, I don’t have cats following me around. XD Steeping the catnip in very hot water destroys the component that cats love.
My “no-no” list: 1. Cantu 2. Shea Moisture 3. Eco styler (for the most part) 4. Any raw oils 5. Any products with silicones, mineral oil and SLS. 🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫
Melinda Copper water and oil do not mix. Since water is the only true source of moisture, oil only seals my hair from added moisture and coats it. It does nothing for the overall heath of my hair. As well, I do not use cleanser that foam (sulfate or sulfate free shampoos) but only cleansing conditioners so raw oils and butter will only buildup on my hair and cause breakage. I have a simple yet effective routine that focuses on hydration and curl definition.
Past! I’ve tried to make the curl enhancing smoothie work for me but it just won’t lord knows I’ve tried! I’m currently in a time where my wash n go’s are barely lasting so trying to find products that hold well and provide moisture.

I used the Wetline gel one time and I was not impressed. I would not even want to take the chance that Wetline could dry out my hair with continuous usage. So that is the end of that gel. I have a few curly cocktails I want to try and I will be pulling out the curl enchancing smoothie one last time to pair it with my favorite gels. The Kinky Curly Knot Today was my favorite leave in early on, I have not used that for a long time. Thinking about pulling that back out too.Thanks for sharing.

Wetline Xtreme is probably the worst product I’ve ever used on my hair. It literally broke my ends off lol. I used it twice and i just could not continue. I don’t know why I even tried it and I can barely read the ingredients in it 🤣😭
For me I thought the curl enhancing cream was good but then I realized it doesn’t tame any frizz so I tried Cantu coconut curling cream and it was much better :)
PAST. I'm gonna add the As I Am Curling Jelly to my list of things to try. I used to use Oyin Hair Dew. Love the results, hate the smell. Struggling to find a replacement in the last year

I don’t care what leave-in you use with Wetline , within 3 days your hair is like a desert. So I will only use it when I going to wash my hair in 3 days. PAST
I agree the coconut hibiscus does not work the same for me anymore. Never use mix chicks. As I Am Curly jelly did not work for me. I have the blue Xtreme, I had that one but it doesn’t mix with all my Leave ins. Never used The shine spray. Passed.
I love wetline. I use to literally use it every wash day. I stopped using it for a while this year and tried more natural gels but with more natural gels my curls weren’t lasting past day 2. So I’ve started using wetline again and alternating between doing wash and gos and 2 strand twists. On wash days when I do twists I don’t use any gel.
Past. My hair is glycerin sensitive, so many OG products just never worked for me. I’m interested in the Orchid OGX spray and other shine products though! 😁

Hello, I'm a new subscriber. I've been looking for the OGX Orchid "shine" spray you mention here, but all I've found is color protectant & fade- defying sprays. Searched Amazon, Ebay, and the OGX website. What is the name on the bottle, maybe I'm searching with the wrong words? I'd really like to try this product.
PAST- Wetline dried my hair out horribly a few Winters ago. I had to do several weeks of deep conditioning to get my hair back together. Since then all these videos coming out reviewing it make me cringe...just a little, lol. I wouldn’t gift it to my worst enemy. Elucence Moisture Balancing Conditioner used to also be my go to leave-in, but caused brittle hair overtime.
Past 🚫Omg, the overuse of that synthetic coconut smell is the worst. So many brands use it. Nauseating and overwhelming. I feel like the smoothie changed at some point. I don't like it anymore either. Wetline was drying af which mad me sad because it gives amazing shine and definition.
Past, four of the five products you showed and Cantu, OGX, dippity Doo, design essentials spray and more. I cleaned out everything that comes trained sodium hydroxide, phenoxyethanel, methylchloroisothiazolinone etc. It was exhausting and I don't regret it. Now I am using Dr Bronner's castle soap for. Head to toe.

Shea Moisture in general is a no for me. Not a fan of the brand or their products. I really dislike their shampoos (too drying), their conditioners (zero slip) and their deep conditioners (too heavy). Right now I’m loving Deva Curl and Briogeo. Both clean brands and my hair feels like silk when I use them. Camille Rose is great too!
@Brit Ferguson ... what do you use from briogeo? I have tried there charcoal shampoo and there curl cream from the curl charisma line and it was actually pretty good.
Eryka Davis at the moment I use their deep conditioner which is amazing and the coil custard. I hope they add a strong hold gel to the line. The cowash is also good
Honestly, shea moisture has never done it for me. I think their brand is overhyped. I mean if it works for you, it works. But, the curl enhancing smoothie literally weighs my hair down and doesn't define my curls at all. Also, I hate eco-styler now. It dries the hell out of my curls and makes my hair feel brittle.

Totally agree. I don't use gels. If I want some definition I use the Asiam curling cream, it gives me good definition

Past 🚫Omg, the overuse of that synthetic coconut smell is the worst. So many brands use it. Nauseating and overwhelming. I feel like the smoothie changed at some point. I don't like it anymore either. Wetline was drying af which mad me sad because it gives amazing shine and definition.

I cleaned out everything that comes trained sodium hydroxide, phenoxyethanel, methylchloroisothiazolinone etc. It was exhausting and I don't regret it. Now I am using Dr Bronner's castle soap for. Head to toe.

Shea Moisture in general is a no for me. Not a fan of the brand or their products. I really dislike their shampoos (too drying), their conditioners (zero slip) and their deep conditioners (too heavy).
Right now I’m loving Deva Curl and Briogeo. Both clean brands and my hair feels like silk when I use them. Camille Rose is great too!
@Brit Ferguson ... what do you use from briogeo? I have tried there charcoal shampoo and there curl cream from the curl charisma line and it was actually pretty good.
Eryka Davis at the moment I use their deep conditioner which is amazing and the coil custard. I hope they add a strong hold gel to the line. The cowash is also good

Honestly, shea moisture has never done it for me. I think their brand is overhyped. I mean if it works for you, it works. But, the curl enhancing smoothie literally weighs my hair down and doesn't define my curls at all. Also, I hate eco-styler now. It dries the hell out of my curls and makes my hair feel brittle.
