I will miss seeing Miyo and Kiyoka in new episode once a week. It was a treat to see both about to enter the ballroom. Miyo looks lovely and confident in a haltered formal attire, a minor faux pax by the show, because I believe haltered outfit came out in the 1930s and this story is set in the 1800s. Regardless, I adore Miyo and Kiyoka.
Good point, you got me searching for that info and you are correct. That means, Hazuki shouldn't be showing her legs as based on my search, it would be scandalous during the Japanese Meiji Era. This show is turning to be a comedy for that reason.
Beautiful review, it’s has been a wonderful journey to see the manga and hear your reviews along side the story. Thank you so much. Cheers for Denmark 🇩🇰
I loved this Animie. It's brought a beautiful reminder of Loves power to my life when I need it most. Also a new RUclipsr . Many positive things that I look forward to following. Thanks for a beautiful review Magpie.
Thanks for all the manga and light novel comparisons. It was a great companion to the anime while watching it. Looking forward to season 2. And for the dub so I can convince my wife to watch it.
Fascinating review as always! Overall, I enjoyed the anime visually, although I enjoyed the light novel so much more. If I have to do it all over again, I'd watch the anime first, then read the novel. Sadly, I can't help myself. lol So long, Lady Magpi
The 4 volumes of the light novel that I've read so far are pretty solid; the anime, not so much although it has its strengths but not enough to replace the well crafted novel. Would I watch future adaptations? Heck yeah, I wouldn't miss them. 😉
@@TheChatteringMagpi Indeed!! Which is why I'm waiting with bated breath for the release of the English version of the book's 5th volume in 2.5 weeks....but who's counting? haha
The Emperor's supernatural ability is called divine revelation, an ability much inferior to that of the Usubas. His motivation therefore is to weaken the power of the Usubas.

Glad you enjoyed it! Yes the novels are really good and worth reading! Can't wait to see how the anime adapts them.

We have to wait a year or so for season 2? NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! 😆
I know!! But at least we have the books to tie us over and it's already awesome that it's getting a second season so I'll just happily wait ~

Hope we will see the marriage ceremony and a kiss … more adult style … in the second season…
A kiss maybe but not the wedding...just a guess. Good luck.
I enjoyed this anime too but i don't exactly understand emperor's motivation

@@animism-023 thanks for the explanation. Hmm I wonder if emperors before him had any issues with Usubas
