Sanja still rocking in the pub gigs 40y after publishing. Song that bring memories on ex state easy going time, with good chorus...
Kaliopi is the best Macedonian female singer,ever.
Toše Proeski is better
You can't compare male and female singers that easy.. But for me Karolina Gočeva is the best Macedonian female singer, but Kaliopi is great too..
She is best in this part of Europe
Bato is in my top 5 songs ever...
Sale, sine, napisao čovek "Female" a otkud ti izvadi Toše, života ti?
najbolji su mi ovi sto pisu svoje,pozdrave,zelje i cestitke....
Another thing that could help you in videos (you can learn it in 5 minutes) are the rules of pronunciation of the Serbo-Croatian language:
It's easy, because each letter is always pronounced exactly the same, regardless of the position in the word, or the letters surrounding it. One letter, one and the same sound - always. Here it goes:
a - like 'a' in 'far'
b = b, no need to explain
c - like 'zz' in 'pizza'
č - like 'ch' in 'chair'
ć - like č, just a little softer
d = d, no need to explain
dž - like 'j' in 'jump'
đ - like dž, just a little softer
e - like 'e' in 'let, pet, set, etc..."
f = f, nothing to explain
g - like 'g' in 'get' or 'frog'
h = h, nothing to explain, just note that it's always pronounced, never silent
i - like 'i' in 'tip', 'flip', 'rip', 'India', etc...
j - like 'y' in 'yellow', 'yes', etc...
k = k, nothing to explain
l = l, nothing to explain
lj - something like 'll' in 'William'
m = m, nothing to explain
n = n, nothing to explain
nj = like 'ñ' in Spanish word 'mañana'
o = o, nothing to explain
p = p, nothing to explain
r = rolled R, like in words such as 'drop', but even more rolled, like in Spanish and Italian
s = s, nothing to explain
š - like 'sh' in 'shoes', 'short', etc.
t = t, nothing to explain
u - like 'oo' in 'room', 'too', 'Moon', etc...
v = v, nothing to explain
z = z, nothing to explain
ž = like 's' in 'pleasure', 'measure'
Thank you so much! This is really helpful ❤️

Yeah, you need to understand the lyrics to fully appreciate Balašević - and not even a good translation would be quite enough to convey his songs properly to foreigners because so much of his writing is steeped in local culture. Every song of his is a complete story.

Negative - Ti me ne voliš

Zdravko Čolić is a giant of Yugoslav pop music, second only to Balasevic in popularity and universal love by all the peoples of the former Yugoslavia. At his height he could easily, every year, fill up the Red Star soccer stadium (about 100,000 people). My friends and I denied we liked him because we were snobs and wanted to listen to edgy stuff, or artsy or obscure or foreign music, but secretly we all loved his songs and later openly admired him. He had so many great songs, it's hard to choose just one. His probably biggest hit was "Ti si mi u krvi" (You are in my blood):
original recording:
ruclips.net/video/9nBnRu6o4sM/видео.html
concert decades later:
ruclips.net/video/B0KnrK_wASQ/видео.html
You caress me with your eyes
Pogledom me miluješ
It's like you're touching me
K'o da me dodiruješ
And every time it's like the first
I svaki put kao da je prvi
I keep thinking, it will stop
Ja stalno mislim, prestat će
It will just disappear
Iz čista mira nestat će
But lust does not stop
Al' požuda ne prestaje
You're in my blood
Ti si mi u krvi
So many years of
Toliko dugih godina
Taking, giving
Uzimanja, davanja
I remaine the last and the first
Ostajem poslijednji i prvi
I dream of gypsies because of you
Zbog tebe sanjam cigane
And I make up sweet scams
I smišljam slatke prevare
But the devil does not give up
Al' đavo se ne predaje
You're in my blood
Ti si mi u krvi
If you are taken away by gypsy nomads
Ako te odvedu cigani čergari
Or you are stolen by terrible harem guards
Ili te ukradu strašni haremski čuvari
If they take you, I'll go crazy
Ako te odvedu, ja ću da poludim
Without you, I can't wake up in the morning
Bez tebe ne umijem više jutrom da se budim
If they take you, everything will fall apart
Ako te odvedu, sve će da se sruši
Remember me as a friend, keep me in your soul
Pamti me k'o prijatelja, čuvaj me u duši
And then when you think it's too late for dreams
I onda kad misliš da je prekasno za snove
For all
Za sve
There are gazillions of RUclips videos of his songs, concerts etc. His other great songs that I love are:

That was the last song he sang there in 2007, after he was already called back on stage a few times and already sang for more than three hours. People who were there say that the ending was incredibly powerful with 100.000 people singing along:

Recommending Bijelo Dugme - Djurdjevdan and Lipe Cvatu by the same band.
Riblja Čorba - Pogledaj dom svoj anđele you should check,also you'll gonnalike it lyrics
I mean, mostly the proposed songs are folk songs, fun local music. Here's some real YU rock.
Choose something...

2.Drugi način - Obećaj mi proljeće
3.Van Gogh - Neko te ima noćas
4.Riblja čorba - Kad hodaš

Listen to Parni valjak " Sve još miriše na nju"
You should definitely explore rock bands, more songs by Bijelo Dugme (simply the best band ever), also bands: Divlje Jagode, Zabranjeno Pusenje, YU Grupa, Kerber. This is quality music - especially if you can take time to read translation of lyrics so you know what's the song about. My suggestion: Bijelo Dugme - Lazes Zlato Lazes Duso (You're lying my beloved sweet one), Divlje Jagode - Zauvijek tvoj (Forever yours), Zabranjeno Pusenje - Karabaja (Karabaja - Spooky), Yu Grupa - Kome se radujes (Who are you looking forward to), Kerber - Ratne Igre (War Games). Cheers.

Songs of Djordje Balasevic are actually 90% about lyrics. It's impossible to actually get anything from them without understanding of language.
I read the lyrics after listening to every track, Djordje was a poet for sure ❤️
Djordje Balasevics songs are abstract.
Sto života by Vesna Zmijanac. Hit it!🎉

@@hipotenuza5663 Just type in RUclips Search bar eg Albanian Rock music, Bulgarian ethno songs. Romanian Pop music, Byzantine music, and the one with most views is right one. Simple as that.
Tose Proeski is the best singer to ever walk on Earth. He was schooled singer from elementary school all the way through college for solo singing. He was brutaly murdered and it was the sadest day ever in all Balkan. Listen to "Tose Proeski (In Memoriam) - Zajdi Zajdi" and you will find out that he was the best singer that was ever born on Earth.
Try to translate any of these songs, they have a beautiful, beautiful text, which only then will awaken wonderful feelings in your soul. Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia from the 70s until now have the most beautiful music in the world, perhaps unfortunately on the margins for the European nations as less understandable or less popular, but when they hear once that love for the Balkan music remains to last forever. A small example of that m.ruclips.net/video/J4lQnRvNwvs/видео.html&pp=ygUSdG9zZSBwcm9lc2tpIGFyaWEg
