I’m so happy to see some love being shown to my were-pups. One day we’ll be avenged! #howlpack4life
This gives me hope 1, cause Innistrad was the current block that I got back into magic and 2, werewolves are awesome.
September mtg is gonna be back at innistrad, Innistrad: Midnight Hunt. Release Date: September 17, 2021. I´m excited for this
All i want for christmas is a green/red/white legendary wolf so i can use something other then samut or another non wolf commander in my new wolf commander deck. Or that friend to wolves would have been red instead of white and tie my hands up like this.
Although that glorious combo of having samut and friend on the field and swinging in with kessig cagebreakers out of no where will be hilarious.
Maybe when we Return to Return to Innistrad we'll get one.
Another direction I could see werewolfs being taken is a Temur build with Surrak at the helm. Splashing blue gives you access to artifact and spell tutors letting you find moonmist and isochron scepter more consistently. Plus it gives you access to Leyline of Anticipation to help play around keeping your werewolves transformed.
Addison Jensen I came here looking/asking for exactly that!
it's a true mystery so few seem to know about/use Isochron Scepter and Moonmist.
Oh wow. This was cool! I hope this gets more people into my favorite tribe! :D
Naya could use an Eidolon of Great Rhetoric to prevent werewolves from flipping back.
That's a good one too yeah, especially with flash like Vivien.
Along the same lines is Rule of Law which is the same effect on a white enchantment.
hell yeah i literally was just wanting some ideas for a werewolf deck :) and this is only 3 weeks old!
Any way we can catch you play a version of this in commander clash?
Thank you Tomer. This is what I needed. I have most of the cards.
Thank you for the representation! Werewolves aren't terrible. If you build it right they can stand strong at almost any pod.
Yessss tomer! I love these!! My buddy is going to be pumped for these decklists! He lovez his big mean puppers!!!
I love seeing some love for what I consider to be an underappreciated tribe. Ulrich really isn't that bad and Tomer really touched on a lot of the aspects that help bring a werewolf deck together (at least in my experience with my own brew). Solid piece of construction.
Personally, I enjoy adding a few joke cards to some of my decks. Cards that don't really do much, but are silly and on theme. My personal Werewolf deck has both Squee's Toy (chosen because it sounds like Squeeze Toy, as in a dog's chew toy) and Dogpile (because doggos).
Omg, thank you so much for this video, it's been so long since a new werewolf commander deck, and because of this video I sub
*stares at unfinished werewolf deck on the shelf* ... well, guess it's time...
Tomer this is the best video you have ever made. My favorite tribe is werewolves and hopefully some day wotc will print a better legendary werewolf.
Thanks!
This deck is really fun! While it adds to the budget Xenagos, the Revealer really helps with mana ramp, especially when you are able to pull off a Wolf Token army.
My only troubles at the moment are dealing with decks that revolve around deathtouch (since they murder anything that fights it), enchantment control/lockdown and boardwipes as with any creature heavy decks.
Do you know any advice/cards to help with these issues? I understand this is a budget deck but these things can all out stop this deck.
Yo two budget commander vids in less than a month???? Tomer is on a fucking roll and i love it
I really appreciate this vid I’ve been struggling to make a true werewolf set I just spent about 30 getting some of these cards flash never even came to my mind lol
Tomer, if you're dipping into white for utility in a WW deck, Eidolon of Rhetoric and Rule of Law. In 1v1, Curse of Exhaustion is a must-have in a WW Naya list, plus is slightly on-theme for being a card from the OG Innistrad block. Just an fyi!
Great video. Would you consider doing a video breaking down which werewolves would be great for cube?
More budget commander please!
I do so love the Naya version of werewolves as a concept
I run doubling season, parallel lives, second harvest in mine to flood the field with wolf tokens. I use a few artifacts as well to control the field a little while I build up. Klothys is great as well. I want to splash white for Tolsimir but I just dont know what to take out.
I hope this video gets an update with all the new wolves and werewolves coming out soon! especially with the new commander tribal option.
I wanna see a Commander Clash were Tomer makes everyone play his decks like these!
"We want to fight"
Because we're friends right ?
Are you reading my mind? How did you know I was looking into this???
I already run Samut werewolves. 😍
holy shit. that sounds very awesome!!
I have werewolves & Angels headed by Samut, I call it Dogwalker tribal.
@@coreysierchio4650 "All Dogs Go To Heaven"
@@tomerabramovici32 "You've inspired me to update my deck."
I do as well ^^ Samut "Human" tribal is a very good deck :p
So can you do a pirate build? Edit:Grixis preferably because I'm struggling 😂
"Everyone's favourite underdog tribe..."
"Crabs?"
"Werewolves"
"Fuck"
I would highly recommend running wolfbriar elemental as a way to make an ungodly number of wolves if you have a lot of mana
I think it's a fine top-end curve in the lower budget lists. Could swap out Smoldering Werewolf, Feed the Pack (I've been impressed with this though), new Arlinn, etc. It can do work I concede.
i like underdog decks and making them fun and good, how do you feelabout winter orb in this deck lol
This script is amazingly written
Wow! I’m a beginner to magic and this deck is the cheapest deck out there! (Also looks incredibly fun!) do you think this is a good starter commander deck? What other decks would u recommend to get into commander? Thanks
Tomer (who made this video) does a whole series about budget-friendly Commander decks! www.mtggoldfish.com/series/budget-commander
Also, some of the preconstructed decks (like Commander 2018) are good starting points for new players looking to get into the format (and pretty cheap - you can get them at WalMart or your game sore for around $40) www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/commander-2018-decklists
I think everyone would love it if you would do a video testing out one of the versions of the deck on mtgo. Would be really great.
When WAR is available on MTGO I'll do a stream with the goodest puppers.
Good to hear!
Nice! I'm exited for the next videos.
I have a wolf tribal deck that I love and Ulrich is plenty strong enough
No shoutout to Wolfbriar Elemental? Seems helpful both in the mid and late game in this deck
I know right. Also no kesig cagebreakers cause who wouldnt want a repeatable wolfbriar lol
Wolfbriar really wants to be cast for 7+ mana and my lists already have a high curve so it was cut. The deck really wants to pump out creatures fast, then flip and win.
@@micheal5973 Cagebreakers really wants to be in a self-mill deck like sultai Sidisi. I tried it here but it's an awful early/mid card since we have no way to fill our GY.
I think both cards could easily be added to the $29 list (cut Feed the Pack, Arliin, or some of the worse Werewolves/Wolves like Smoldering Werewolf), but at higher budgets I wouldn't recommend them.
Tomer Abramovici i think your really underestimating cage breakers especially in a deck with tolsimir as the commander. You wont need many creatures in your grave yard to pair it with tolsimirs ability and wipe alot if not all of the board each turn.
Tomer... you rock!
I honestly think black is a better third color. You may lose out on hate bears and Tolsimir, but you get the best tutors, mass reanimation, and alternate win cons like Torment of Hailfire.
Black you get mass discard. Opponents can't cast spells if they don't have spells to cast! I go over Black and Blue in the article. Splashing White is my favorite though (but Gruul is great too).
@@tomerabramovici32 In splashing white, how do you feel about the addition of Eidolon of Rhetoric/Rule of Law?
@@warriorsfan123456 I think they can be powerful inclusions, especially when paired with flash-enablers like Vivien.
Play this on commander clash please.
Another Naya option that looked interesting is Bruce tarl and Sidar kondo
I'm not up on MTG slang. What are "hate bears"?
Arlinn Kord is also a werewofl commander
I hope next time they go back to Innistrad that they do Werewolves better. I want them to keep the transform effect because that is do cool but maybe have them use different ways to transform. Mana cost, casting this or that, etc. I love werewolves and yea we need a better commander werewolf
"I'm talking about .. RATS" No love for Rats in this set.. WHY!?
There is only one good Rat in my book and he taught 4 turtles to be ninjas.
Tomer, we need moon folk tribal
well, then. Have to build this now.
Nah, if you runs stacks they transform really easily, you just go temur and run stasis
If you watch the video I talk about stax pretty early on.
@@tomerabramovici32 yeah but... stasis is amazing
@@ashra8281 Stasis is an amazing card in the right deck, I agree. And it's an easy way for your werewolves to transform. But how will you untap them to attack? How will you untap your mana sources to keep Stasis? There are ways, of course (Paradox Engine is one), but it's not as easy as just saying "run Stasis" right? Also Temur is rather limited in enchantment tutors as well. That's why I didn't focus on Temur much here. I think Naya does Stax better for Werewolves. Also Gruul has some good Stax as well.
@@tomerabramovici32 true, but you just run brago, and then full on stacks and just run arcane adaption for werewolfs so it's a "werewolf" deck, right?
I think my love for stasis has gone too far
this looks So cool !!
What about garruk who creates wolves
He has a Golgari identity so he can't fit in these lists unfortunately. If you splash Black though then yeah he's solid!
Play this on commander clash!
Awesome!!!
Ulrich looks like a werebear-old woman. Xenagos is a proper werewolf/wolf commander.
Tom T if you’re going for the GR take, you want Ruric Thar.
Ulrich should have allowed you to cast spells without worrying about transforming werewolves
Tribal without Door of Destiny or Coat of arms?!
It's dual tribal so the number of actual werewolves is kinda low. They're fine inclusions, but not amazing imo.
I have a demon tribal with their minions with Razaketh as the commander. Come here little pups, I won't hurt you (Razaketh shows teeth) 3:)
You go Tomer
Vedalken Orrery... Do I smell Josh Lee Kwai?
I hope we can get another werewolf commander ;-;
A Naya or Temur Werewolf would be good.
Ulrich really isn't that bad.
Needs alpine moon for flavour
you are loosing out on a entire set of wolves the white wolves by doing ulrich i would very much enjoy a video with a tri-color of (white, red, green) to encompass the full strength of wolves
How is an almost $600 deck budget...
Budget is a relative term.
Problem is just red green is better...sorry but its true.
Dampening sphere
Woof!
Rawr🤣
use a different commander like mayael
"this is just a humble wish of this humble servant milord. but plz. make it temur like for me sir"
the poor slave asks you
sub for this, thank you!
Thanks!
ayy
this deck seems absolutely miserable to play in paper, the amount of flipping creature in and out of the sleeve
The best way I found to remedy this is to run the checklists for your werewolves in your deck and have your werewolves in the sideboard in clear sleeves. Then whenever you cast your werewolf, swap in the actual card and it's easy to flip it.
werewolfs more like swolewolfs ;)
steve fitch Wereswolves?
