Additionally, in a room or outdoor environment, I cannot fault this little Bose and yes "Gamewwx" a very nice little speaker. Take it from Jayson and I, money well invested and mine lasts for 7 hours, more than enough before a recharge. I mean when did you last listen to audio for seven hours or even ten hours straight?
If you're thinking of getting the Bose Soundlink Mini. Just do your wallet and ears a favor and get the RIVA S. It's slightly larger, but definitely outperforms the Bose. It has very accurate sound, a larger sound stage, more features, can handle more complicated music without faltering, and keeps a balanced sound whether quiet or loud. If you choose Bose, you're just paying for the name. And yes, I have listened to them both in person and during the same listening session
the big differences between old and new is the USB charging capability and the speaker phone. biggest flaw is the inability for the user to change the battery. This is the best speaker on the market for its size. the quality of the unit is bar none the best and customer support for Bose is great as well. And yes it beats the pill. they have added some electronic acoustics mods that ramps down the bass just a tad but not noticeable to the human ear.gets rid of distortion at high volume levels.
Had this product have had better sound quality it would have really made it worth buying. From what I heard from other people, they're satisfied with the first generation model. Adding a microphone is not really important to individuals who mainly enjoy the speaker for music which is probably most people who buy bose.
I had this for a while and it stopped working, came across an "escape" bluetooth speaker that looked exactly like the mini II and was $50 (Bose Mini II is $230) and it sounded almost the same. I'm mind blown that I found something significantly cheaper that sounds similar and works perfectly line.
I have a soundlink mini, and I don't know what I would do without it. It's the best thing ever!!! The ONLY speaker that compares to it is the UE speaker. All others are just crap.
I'm curious to know if the 2 is made in Malaysia or Mexico? I had a few sound link mini 1 with a couple made in Mexico, I found the sound was far superior than the Malaysia (later) make. Bose seemed to have cut costs in this aspect moving their production line to Malaysia for the later generations of sound link mini 1.
I have this speaker. I had it for 2 years and used it everyday pretty much. It WAS a great speaker when it worked. Recently mine stopped charging. I did everything Bose recommended on their website, still no cigar. I have to call Bose to see if they will replace it even though it has been about 2 years. For $200...his speaker should last much longer. I went to amazon today and started to read the reviews and noticed other people had the same issue . Will stop charging after a year or two. My recommendation for anyone eyeing this speaker. Keep looking! It's a waste of money,...you're paying top $$$ for a speaker that will give you a 2 year lifetime if you're lucky. So sad...now I let's see what song and dance I get from Bose when I call them tomorrow. smh....
So pretty much same thing as the original one just added some new stuff to make it a better speaker. As sound quality good luck going against JBL and Harman/Kardon. Leading class in speakers.

Hi David, Great review as always. Actually you may well get stereo sound separation. I've got the Bose SoundLink Mini first gen.and that has a stereo image, not monophonic. Can't imagine Bose removing this deal breaking (for me) feature
They didn't make it mono, it's still stereo but because the two drivers aren't all that far from each other, it's impossible to get that stereo effect unless you sit 2 inches from the speaker. Hope that clarifies. :)
Lol, Mine is made in Malaysia and sounds marvellous and yes you can get good stereo separation at a foot away. Stop reading this RUclipsrs and go buy one, you will not be disappointed
I own 1 sounds great ! My battery life sucks 75.00 to send it out 3 weeks get back It only last a year . While I like to have it for my vac so now got buy 20.00 at cvs take with me . My boom box happen same way . Battery sucks !!

It takes 5 seconds to pair with this speaker. No LED display? If you are streaming from a smartphone, tablet, or laptop...no need. No memory card slot? Same as above. No remote? Once again. No removable battery? An easy 8 hours of play at 65%, no need if your application doesn't exceed these parameters.

Beware of compatibility issues with drop outs due to codecs. Constant irritant having to reset. Poor at coping with dual BT devices and struggles with LDAC so Sony XM4s will choke when used with BT5.0
