    Thanks for this video! I bought one last night, same as yours, green with the spoiler. It was on offer on Banggood and couldn't resist! I'll make sure I go over it before the first use to make sure everything's well adjusted.

    Thanks for the review. I'm on the fence here, trying to decide between this and the new hbx 901a. Speed-wise it's a wash. The dbx10 has the looks, the right size, great power and acceleration. But it seems to require some tinkering / mending, while the hbx seems to be tough as nails. I'm a fairly careful driver so I'm hoping I might be ok with the dbx all the same.

      I'd never heard of the HBX so I just took a look. It is a MUCH smaller car, not really comparable at all. The ZD will deal with off-road conditions that the HBX will get completely overwhelmed by.

      @@fiveeight0sixsix Thanks for the insight. I realise they are very different sizes and I really like the size of the dbx10. I have a cheap pxtoys 9204e since a few weeks and getting something smaller feels like going in the wrong direction.

      If you want to spend less than half and simply have fun without issues go for the hbx. Simple, reliable and 40kmh for a off road 1/12 is more than enough. Also if needed parts are super cheap and a simple 2s 1500mah battery lasts at least 20 minutes!

      @@farmoboy83 Thanks for the reply. In the end I ordered the dbx 10, mainly for its larger size and the power that comes with it. Can't wait to try it out off road.

    hi, friend!! Thanks for your honest review, I have one from a month ago and I've had problems with the clutch unless it happens that it doesn't send force to the rear, I had to tighten the shaft cup that joined the clutch because it also didn't send force to the front. Now I have to solve the problem of the force back. The first day a shock absorber and a tire broke, the hecagonal part melted, remaining round hahaha it's a nice car but with many defects. What I can do? thank you

    Great review. Overall it seems like a real nice car. It's 1/10 scale and looks like it would be easy to work on. I especially like how the body hinges up to access the electronics. What are your thoughts on the motor mount?

    The number of upgrades you need for this buggy to be reliable make this buggy not cheap at all. Thanks for the review, I was considering buying one - not anymore :)

    • @fiveeight0sixsix
      @fiveeight0sixsix  2 года назад +1

      I think that even including the upgrades it is cheap. But my experience is that it breaks so often, you usually break it before the battery runs out, too many parts just aren't durable enough. And I don't even do big jumps with it.

    It looks like the Absima one comes with completely different electronics, Hobbywing ESC, motor and Absima/Flysky radio

    Placed my order!!! How do you find the stock battery? Planning to get a second battery and there are others that should fit where I could go for a higher C rating. But, if the stock battery is decent enough then it might be good for consistency and the hard casing is a nice to have of course too.

      I don't think it's very good. I wouldn't buy one. But it's free 🤷‍♂️

      I got hold of a decent enough alternative that fits straight in, "ZOP Power 11.1V 5000mAh 45C 3S"

    Hello, do you know the inner diameter, outer diameter and wire diameter of the spring set of the front and rear shock absorbers? Do you want to replace it, but do not know the size

    Another question... Re diff and shock oils. I've seen mention of someone running 6000cst in the front and 4000cst in the rear diffs with 40wt in the front and 35wt in the rear shocks. I intend to run it on pretty loose, uneven and rough terrain so quite different from the likes of race track conditions. Do you have any opinion on these numbers for the rough stuff from your experience? TIA

    • @fiveeight0sixsix
      @fiveeight0sixsix  2 года назад +1

      I recently changed the oils on mine, I went with 550CST in the front shocks, 450CST in the rear shocks, 30,000CST in the front diff and 10,000CST in the rear diff. I think 35WT (which is probably close to 350CST) is a bit light for these dampers, but I would consider trying something a bit lighter in the diffs.

      @@fiveeight0sixsix Thanks for sharing your experience... I'm happy enough messing with the shock oil weights, still getting that dialled. Before ordering some diff oil though, I thought it worth checking how you're getting on with the weights that you mentioned? I'm considering going for the same as a starting point. I reckon the heavy(ish) weight will be good for some of the slower uneven and even rocky terrain I like to run on.

    • @fiveeight0sixsix
      @fiveeight0sixsix  2 года назад +1

      Yes I'm still happy with the oils, adds more stability to the buggy.
