Personalising the Cross RC EMO NT4 crawler with a few of my favourite hop-ups
Просмотров 3854 месяца назад
The Cross RC EMO NT4 is an impressive 1/10th scale crawler that bears more than a passing resemblance to the Mercedes-Benz Unimog. It's really good out of the box, but there's always room for improvement. Let's take a look at a few upgrades I've added to make it just the way I want it to be.

Thank you so much! Car was going forward but not reverse Just needed to change the running mode!
Thanks so much for posting this. I literally just built my GS02F TS kit, ended up pretty much like the Komodo Double Cab kit. But the springs are so obviously too firm, is seen people on forums say "get element springs" but not which ones. Cheers! That said its bloody capable already "stock". Can't wait to see what it can do with more appropriate springs.
Nice speedo, but it doesn't have blinky mode ... It is possible to set 0 turbo/boost but there is no blinking led :(
I love the doll, I been looking for a scale doll that fits my trucks, all of them are FMS 1/10 scale. What size doll do you need for the FMS JF40?
Excellent
Very nice video😉 I recieve mine Yesterday and soon I want to start to improve it😁💪
Excellent video. Great info. I’m about to install a set on my Gatekeeper.
Hi, do you know if this builders kit 2 can be built with the longer 12.8» wheel base, like the Gatekeeper? BTW, great vid, thanks for posting.
Yes, but you need to buy the longer links, and also the longer rear driveshaft. Easiest is the 12.8" set element sell. Remember this truck is a link rear end not a trailing arm rear end.
@ super thanks very much for replying.
The Noble NB4+is amazing, give it a try. I can't imagine ever using again a radio with a fixed wheel position. I like mine around 15 degrees. The operation in general is fantastic
Can it do blinky mode?
The LED does not blink when the timing is set to zero. So it depends on your local rules.
G'day mate i got team associated b7d i love it but uts not on the road or dirt yet.... love u channel bro.peace joe from Melbourne
So do you manage with just the two Lipos for a race day?
Yes
Which one is faster? T4f 2019 or t4f 2021? Which one feel better?
I always preferred the 19 but both of these cars are very old now, I doubt anyone still runs them.
Some really great points mate cheers for the video👍
All of the aluminium parts on the second batch of B7s have been upgraded. The original aluminium part s where made of a very low quality 50 grade aluminium. The new parts are a much stronger 60 grade aluminium that doesnt deform from looking at it sideways. The C and D blocks are alao about 1mm thicker in diameter, giving them some more meat around the pill. Additionally, the front and rear inner hinge pins have been increased in length by about 1mm in the front, and 1.25mm in the rear. The whole reason for these changes is a wholistic approach to the problem with the C Block breakages. The issue was caused by the transmission casting having misaligned holes for the D Block mount, which allowed for the D block to skew. With the shorter hinge pins, this allowed the D block to become even more askew, which caused the left hand side to open up more than the right. This would then drop the hinge pin back into the D block pill an extra 1+mm, and the shorter hinge pin head would then sit proud in the front left C block pill. Putting the end of the hinge pin in alignment with the pill removal notch. So any amount of outward lateral force would leverage the forward tip of the inner hingepin right out through the thin material of the recess chamfer for the pill insert, and the pin would follow the path of least resistance, and blow right out of the C block notch. And if you still have your broken C Block on hand, you can see this plain as day, once you understand the failure mode. The newer parts remove all of this slop, make the D block fit more sqaure, preventing it from skewing, because the pins are fully engaged all the way in the pills. Add to thay the lack of a removal notch and the thicker stronger grade material, and it all makes for better durability, and accuracy. The rear end ia MUCH more tight and together than the original batch. And i would HIGHLY recommend anyone who runs a B7 to get these updated parts in the Front Bulkhead, and the C and B Blocks, along with the hinge pins. If yoi are unsure of the hingebpins being the new ones, AVID makes replacement pins thay are longer as well, and made of a higher grade of steel. Likewise the new front shock tower seema stronger, and the new tower cover uses the two screw design like the B6.3 and 6.4. The plaatics are alao uaing different injection and cooling cycles, which makes their tollerances tighter, and less prone to warping abd brittleness. All good changes...but lets be honest, the car should have been that way from day one.
My Passenger side "C-Hubs keep on twisting after a short run. Clamping nuts are tight as can be and set screws are correct depth. I hope they com out with a hardened plastic in the future.
As always a wonderful run through. I really appreciate all you share and I finally understand ’bump steer’ 😅
very nice new axles 👌 truck is running smooth 😀👍👍👍😀
nice 👌 i also dont upgrade unless its needed, subscribed 👌👍👍😀
Lots of great information for a beginner like me. Thanks 👍
BANZAI!!!
Hi, I'm flip flopping between the 25 xb2 or the B7 iyo which is better? Obviously the '25 isn't out just yet but I can't imagine it'll be much different to the '24
You'll have to wait and see what the 25 offers. To be honest, performance of the two cars for me was the same once I'd made a couple of small setup tweaks. But the XRAY is more expensive to own, and I don't expect that to change.
Thank you! I just purchased this kit today. I would love an update from you if you have time.
I don't have the car any more but I'm sure you'll enjoy running it.
I've owned one for 6 months now and find that I might go through 2 batteries before a break and parts are cheap but take 3 to 4 weeks to be delivered. Exactly as described in this video.
Hallo, I’m new to the hobby I saw your video and was wondering if the ZD Racing DBX-07 is good as in the long run without with ( spare parts )? and i want a RC that have this look more. i 4:35 don’t like the models of Traxxas and i don’t bash with the cars i love drive construction. sand location little bit ofroad no water locations could you help me
cool vid!! +1sub!! come have a look
The best way to fill them, is to fill them.
Thanks mate.! 👍 👍
nice, detailed review and thanks for a tips! I always thought that it has separate diff locks - that's a pity
To be honest I keep the axles locked 99% of the time anyway.
Very nice looking vehicle and some tastful mods :)
Good day. Question: Will the differences from xb2 2017-2022 fit the 2024 model? Some have plastic gears some have metal, but all fit the same diff case? Same with the shocks: 2017 models had 11mm, 2021 had 12mm and now 2024 its 13mm. Are those interchangeable?
Great simple and concise video. Thanks
Any new updates or findings with your 2.0?. I just received mine and started building it .
I don't have it any more but I think it is a good car, all you need is the usual selection of pistons/springs to get it dialled in to your track.
What did you go to@@fiveeight0sixsix
Awesome, man! I was stupefied by shock build, filling it to the brim and even filling the cap with oil, only to get stiffest uncompressable shock. Because I understood that "shock" action comes from oil viscosity, I did not realise I need some air to compress to compensate for the shaft. Duh. Now I _know_ why.
Do a lot of parts cross over from the DTM 3.1 series?
Most parts are the same or direct alternatives.
@@fiveeight0sixsix perfect I just ordered one !
Fantastic video, appreciate all of the detail as I want one of these but wasn't sure where I was going to start with customizing it. But now I have a tutorial! Thank you Sir! Truck looks fantastic!!
Not sure if you have explained this or not, but what are the differences between the CAL3.1 , DTM3.0 , and SO 2.0 why so many buggies . Thank you
Lots of small updates but still the same basic platform.
What compressor do you have to work with this airbrush?
Timbertech compressor
Its says battery type for #2 on programmer no?
Its amazing all the different platforms by companies look like each other. HB, xray, losi, mugen 2wd buggy's look identical
DO NOT FORGET ABOUT THEM.! I recently made the mistake of putting 4 wheels & tyres in overnight & forgot about them, when I finally remembered 4 days later, all that was left were 4 tyres sitting in a pool of white plastic sludge.! 😉 😉 😂 😂 It was super weird stuff too, it was a pliable sticky thick liquid paste that solidified back into hard plastic as the acetone evaporated.. It's got me wondering if it would be any good for repairing broken parts.!?
Oh no! Sounds like you had one of the wheel materials that is not safe to use with acetone.
where on the esc did you connect the cable for programming? any port on the esc?
No, you need to pull the cable from the receiver
Verry good and usefull vid. Thanks for this good work you, ve done. Have a 6.2 and i would soon buy the new 7 carpet version, but here in Switzerland is out of stock for more than 4 weeks.
lol your wheels are still covered with old glue you need to get off. just dump enough acetone in the container so the bead facing down is fully submerged and wait 12 hours. flip over and wait another 12 hours. you might have to clean up the wheels a little but but take a paper towel soaked in acetone and wipe away.
Even a stupid person can understand this and im well stupid . Works a treat thanks
Nice looking Jimny you got there! I subbed to see more!
Had two of these esc’s and both went out after three months
Mine is still going strong
Overheating it?
Great review! Did you have to use a different size screw to attach the damper to the caster? I tried using the one that came with it and it didn’t seem to fit. Thank you!
I don't remember. It's always useful to have a few different screw lengths to hand.
nyzz one.. thought there's no running vid.
nice video.. hope to see some running vids in the future.
