Perfect rice explained Swapna Garu. There is another method too Swapna Garu. Put 1 1/2 measuring cup water in the rice cooker using the jali plate just as u did and put the steel vessel with rice n water (1:2 ratio) in side the rice cooker...give it ten to fifteen min of standing time after it goes off. Adjust water in the rice cooker as well as in the rice according to the consistency u like. Advantage in this method is that we can keep the steel vessel with rice at our dining table. Easy to clean steel n looks nice at the table. Aluminium vessel will be left back in the cooker itself...cook once in this way too Swapna Garu.

A small suggestion andi. Electric rice cooker ni max gasstove ki koncham far away pettataniki try cheyandi. Y because, electric cooker lo vunde magnet wil get spoiled vry quickly if placed near gasstove n frequently misfunctioning avuthu vuntundhi cooker.
My mom personally experienced it n maaku ee vishayam electronic shop lo repair chese person chepparu.

Swapna garu ! I have brought a new rice cooker.
The holed plate is not fixing inside the container. Several times I tried in different ways. It's a Panasonic Company cooker. Cook & warm both options also there.
Confirm that holed plate will air tight or remain little bit loose.
