A B&M shift improved kit would be a good upgrade for that th350, the kit is fairly cheap around $60 and is super easy to install especially when the trans is out of the vehicle and personally I try to avoid using the rubber pan gaskets on these transmissions because they always seem to leak severely, I always use a cork gasket because they usually wont leak.
Great work! I have a th350 and i was wondering how to replace the trans oil filter. Also, saw you did not use any silicone when replacing the trans pan gasket. Good to know.
I don’t know about your project I just saw and clicked on it as I’ve had both a 67 & 68 SS with the hide away head lites and now a 72’ Nova doing a frame off resto/mod but am curious about the engine and converter you’ll be using oh and what yr you’d is
Hey I'm thinking about buying a 1980 camaro. The guy has a new cam, intake . And Flowmaster mufflers. He says it's pushing 320 to 360Hp I'm just worried because it's the stock transmission. Can they handle that kind of power? Or will it blow up after I buy it
Holy crap the DEC would have a field day with you this is not the proper way to do this first make sure all of the trans fluid is out before cleaning the outside and have a oil drain pan on the ready and dont worry about the extra water inside the transmission it will help it shift better and that 1/2 inch of endplay should be perfect
the th350 is good for acceleration, it doesn't even have Lock Up, I don't know if you want to live @ 3000rpm on the road ..... anyway the 200 4r beats the 350, 4R OD gear is immensely long 0.67 ........ but it also accelerates better, 1st is shorter, 2.74 vs 2.52 (350)
I'm glad you cleaned it up you know how many people won't clean up a transmission or engine before he put it back in
Im really amazed how good Oven Cleaner works..

Solid work my guy👍
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
This helps me on my 72 k20. Ty.
U can fuck up by changing fluid on old trans sometimes best to just keep running it
That is true, but in this case I needed to empty the trans

The seal shouldn't need anything on it... but after 50 plus years.. you might have to lol

I pulled the chevy th350 and found a 1977 Pontiac th350 to put in... much better!

It should be good if a TH350, better if a TH400!!!

Pans are cheap. Why not just put a nice new pan on there?
