Tony, as we always explain in gardening, a plant produces fruit with its seeds inside so that it can continue on. You may not realize it at the moment but everyone Steve guided through their gardening became a seed. His comments were the bud that flowered into your learning and now it’s time for us to continue that circle of life. Be well Tony. Condolences to Steve’s family. For as long as we plant a seed we’ll always be green side up.

I’ve only followed Steve - Green Side Up 🌱- for a couple of years….. I live on the Canadian 🇨🇦 Prairies, in Saskatoon, and I so appreciated his generous passing on of his vast knowledge. Even though we garden in different climates, I was still able to apply so much of his teaching to my gardening. I’m sure he’ll be very missed throughout your country. My condolences to his family, friends, and all gardeners everywhere. ❤️🌱

Tony, Without a doubt Steve needs you to pick up the batten now and take this forwards. You, JB, Sophie, Audry, Jessie are the future of gardening. He has been passing on his knowledge to you for many years now.
He's given you the ultimate gift, he chose you 'reprabates' to instill his knowledge into so you can carry the torch forwards into the night, spreding the gardening light for others to be attracted to, like moths to a flame.
Steve lives on in all our hearts, although we are spread out across the globe, we are one consiousness 💔
    Stay safe out there x

Tony…not a dry eye to find after hearing the news. Steve was one of a kind, a true “original”
Steve always took the time to explain his methods and why he used them. He was a gardener at heart, he didn’t care about “views”, “likes” or “subscribers”..it was all about gardening and sharing his experience with others.
We’re all better for having known Steve…he’ll be dearly missed.

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting him, watching one of his videos was like having a chat with the oldest and best of friends. We were so lucky to have him and we're all going to miss him terribly. Take care.

Thank you so much for making this video to let us know of Steve's sad death. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's noticed his decline lately. I've been very worried since his last video. Obviously, we didn't know each other, but I feel like I've lost a friend. Is there any way of sending condolences to his wife? Perhaps even sending them to you for you to pass on. I just feel that his followers would all like his wife to know how important he was to us all. Maybe a page where we could post messaged?

I’m so glad Steve started a RUclips channel at Tony’s urging otherwise I would never have discovered such a kind and generous human being with such passion and knowledge for the garden. I’ll miss his laugh and his banter in the comments. Rest in peace.
