Played a game of quickplay in the sewer tiers MMR. Mauga was the enemy tank and killing us, our tank said "Mauga is so pay to win." enemy tank laughed at it, switched to Orissa and said "is Orissa also pay to win?" lost the round and switched back to Mauga and won lol
I won a back fill from over time on junker town using mauga

I played against this comp in qp with my friends the other night and got absolutely rolled. Everyone on the enemy team was masters/gm though, to be fair

Mei wall quick fix would be to allow your team to see your pre-wall placement indicator as well.

I fought a Mauga as Junker Queen and holy sh*t. The amount of cooldown caution, enemy support monitoring and overall effort I had to utilise in order to barely win that match was insane. It was such an intense match, and the worst part is that the enemy Mauga wasn't even outplaying me, I just got EXTREMELY lucky that their supports never swapped to Kiriko (also that my team did amazingly well)
I feel this because I use sigma against Mauga and if I mess up on my cooldowns then I lose everytime. But usually it’ll be a tough fight for either side
Yeah... in a 1v1 i feel like jq has almost nothing to do against mauga. Despite both having insane damage and health regen while attacking.
Playing against him forces you to use all of your cooldowns.
@@WeeabooPocky I mean the nice thing is that he's easy to headshot. If you can flick shotgun headshots on him whilst using shout to survive during his overheal ability, you can gun him down, albeit that's assuming your team is competent to keep the enemies at bay

I just want to say that Mauga's ult has got to be the hardest thing abt him to deal with. Ball's kit is movement dependant, and getting rid of that makes him a sitting duck inside of Cagefight. Same thing for Doomfist as the best they can do is use primary fire and block.
Also ball main here, at least at neutral mauga’s is easier to deal with compared to roadhog, cuz against him you can slam against his team + use your adaptive shield cooldown to get a little bit more uptime against them, but if you commit without shields and with shields, yeah, you are dead

Me and my friend were doing Torb + Mauga the other night, that was a ton of fun. Dubbed the ult combo the “crawfish boil”. I ulted with Mauga, died immediately, and his molten killed three by itself
I feel like just giving Mouga an overheat would balance him TREMENDUSLY
The only big problem I’d see with that is at max fire rate, your mag size is essentially reduced from 350 down to about 50… barely enough to kill a squishy at lower ranks
this is actually someone elses idea, after about 4-5 seconds of firing it overheats, and you cant use it for about a second (maybe shorter) and in his ult there is no overheat so he can just keep on shooting until its over

Sigma & Ramattra are by far the most balanced tanks they've ever created

And there my two mains along with Doomfist. I love Sigma and he’s easily my favorite character, him and Ram just aren’t annoying to fight, they are both just reliable tanks that are fun and fair to play around

I really hope the devs take a look at Reinhardt.
He's my favorite character in the game and i really enjoyed playing him in ow1 and early ow2 but there is just no reason to pick him right now again all the stronger threats and when you can pick ramattra instead.
I just hope they keep his abilities like they are and just buff him a bit.

Fully agree, his kit is fantastic and I don't want them to mess with it, honestly if they just nerfed some of his hard counters (rather than even more buffs) that would be amazing
They've said repeatedly that he has some of the highest win rates in gold and stuff, and that's apparently good enough for them so they refuse to touch him. Sad really
Well the problem with Rein IS his kit, it needs to be updated to compete with the new kits, like Mauga getting immunity in his dash when Rein doesn't.

Flats is on drugs for even putting doom in the A tier. He doesnt have the balls to admit this but dooms punch stun nerfs destroyed him. Then they nerfed his meteorstrike twice. They increased the ult charge and now meteorstrike has a bug where the middle circle and completely no reg someone and u deal only 50 dmg. It has officially become a F- tier ult. and this guy put him in A tier… either he knows the truth and still wants to push doom being “strong” so they can nerf him further. Or he doesn’t know about the new meteorstrike bug
@@trolli2140The ult is buffed due to the healing and I never expect my doom ult to get any kills. Only way that doom gets kills with ult is in a tight area or with the free charged punch. The punch however fucked me over cause I am not good enough to land a consistent triple flick headshot after a regular punch. Doom feels like a solid B tier for normal people and low A for one tricks. Except he gets shit on by cagefight he is c tier at best.

@@sahave5042 also people with cc abilities can sleep you when u land with meteorstrike. There’s a window of time u are in 3rd person and can’t use cooldowns. People can cc you before the animation even finishes which is stupid unfair. U aren’t supposed to land on people cuz of how dogshit the ult is. No damage. No nothing. It’s an ult u shouldn’t have to escape with it everytime. But it’s so bad that’s its only use. They should’ve made the ult “scarier” more “dangerous” they failed to do both things
As a Cassidy player, all he needs to be effective is good range and the grenade needs to go back to being a burst damage ability. Remove Hinder and increase the damage up to at least 100. Every single time Cassidy's range has been buffed he has been minimum a A - B tier hero regardless of the grenade. His bread and butter is Close/Medium range burst damage with consistent accuracy. He doesn't need a Rework, he doesn't need all these overthought buffs to his roll (Which I think are nonsense btw), he just needs reliable ranged damage with his grenade being a good source of burst damage that rewards proper and careful use in combination with his gun. He is a simple character, keep him simple.
Also a Cass main and your spot on here. Keep him simple, I fell in love with his character 5 years ago because he’s a badass cowboy, but also because he’s simple. He’s an old faithful pick for me that I’ve enjoyed for years

Flats is actually a fairly balanced commentator. I've been screaming that the anti-nade situatiin is a number creep problem, not one caused by the ability itself for a while.
Don't worry, blizzard agrees that it's an indication that healing (and by proxy, damage) numbers are too big.
Despite knowing this they still made Mauga entirely reliant on healing for survivability though, god damn it

Ball is one of my favorite heros to play, unfortunately his kit and design is just too outdated. I'm so glad the devs have already said they're looking at what to do to improve him.

I absolutely love playing wrecking ball but when I get slept, anti’d, hacked, and discorded in a millisecond I remember why l don’t play him anymore

You should still make at least one yt video about how bad it is. I don’t feel like enough people know/care how constantly ignored he has been. The reason why is bc he doesn’t do nearly as much damage or tanking as his counterparts. Sombra can disable you without even trying, mauga is basically an insta win in most team fights. And when mauga ults you, there is absolutely nothing you can do.
As a ball main it has made me stop playing the game for about 4 seasons now bc I know it would just suck.

So sad to see my hamster in D/F tier, but it makes sense. I'm in Masters rn maining Ball and it's like I'm playing Elden Ring on max difficulty.
Sure, it could be a skill issue because players like Chazm can still be in Top 500, but I still feel there's a genuine problem with Ball. When I swap to other dive tanks like Winston, Dva and even Doomfist, doing my job as a tank becomes 10x easier than when I'm doing the exact same thing as Ball. With those tanks, at least I have the damage and mitigation to be a threat. Ball is just kind of a slight annoyance in the high ranks with no lethality unless you're just the best player in that lobby.

theres a guy called Peanut who plays little mac in Smash tournaments, he has taken sets off of PGR 100 players, but that doesn't make his character good, it just means he grinded the shit out of them, which is why the Smash community gave him the nickname "air mac"
if a character is bad it doesnt mean theyre unsuable, it's more like they're limited compared to other heroes because = there's less room for error

He knows what’s healthy for the game (generally) but beyond that he wouldn’t bring anything to blizzard, plus he already does gives opinions on what would improve the game at no cost to blizzard while probably making more money from yt and twitch than he would at blizzard

Echo is so fun, incredibly easy to dominate against teams with her if you know what you’re doing. Had the most elims on my team as echo and absolutely bodied the enemy team but my highlight was copying their Cass and getting headshots on their Bastion, Mercy, and Cass and winning the team fight. Truly one of the most slept on picks with how adaptable she is
Genji actually can be really good in comps with mauga, since Ana and zen are both mauga counters who are good dive targets, and if kiri is forced to use suzu from genji in the mauga mirror, it allows anti not to be cleansed. Genji also can be pretty good at securing kills on chained enemies in mauga ult because they have no movement options, and you can just dash through all of them, especially with blade. And the deflect thing you mentioned with mauga mirror, which can make the mauga take unexpected damage and lose access to self heal

Tank (Mauga tbf) could feel so strong with Ana-Kiri as your supports in one match, and utterly terrible with Moira-Mercy in the next game. And unfortunately, Moira-Mercy is still way too common...:(

Illari ult has the most amount of counters out of any ult. Yes it’s good when u can pop it. But u have to track EVERYONES cooldowns, and some abilities have insane uptimes, like wall? DM? Plus even if ur hit, suzu exists, or u can pop a defensive ult that heals a ton and just…tank the damage. It is super rare for a team to not have a counter to illaris ult.
Genji and Illari share that problem, you have to perfectly track everything to get value of your ult.
That’s because u use her ult to go for highlight plays and try to get 5 , if you get one or two kills with it that’s value . If you stop tryna hit the entire team then u won’t have that issue .
@@t1h_tvj212 I know getting one or two kills is already value but it still not guaranteed without good follow up if they peel for each other. That being said I think the ult itself is okay right now, it does what it has to do.
That's why you use it mid fight when resources are depleting. Literally, most ults have to be used wisely or they'll get countered, so this issue isn't anything special.
@@darkrl591it is special when it the ultimate is one singular projectile and is easily countered able. Ramattra ult has a good amount of counters but so does high noon, they both have counters, but ramattra ultimate is infinitely better than high noon.
Just because ultimates have counters doesn’t mean all counters are the same. We need to look at how easy something is to counter.

Well... rn as in before Mauga got unlocked for comp. I hopped on Doom and surprisingly was very impactful and didn't insta-die somehow for several matches.
Doom is about as strong as ball. Idk why he gets A tier and ball gets D.
Flats was like doom, you have to counter swap him, you have to be insane at the hero. But then hw just forgot that that makes a hero C/D, like rein and ball.
Frustrating because the devs balance based off flats videos and internal statistics

But even so, honestly I disagree. The reason Doom is better than Ball is because Doom has better tools to kill and better means to escape. If you get trapped as ball you're basically fucked. Get trapped as Doom, you can press a button and it's a 60/40 you live or die.

@@Summonick2 Doom is MUCH better than Ball rn. You must be horrible to think they're even comparable. Ball doesn't have constant access to CC, a smaller hitbox, a better ult, and much better assassination potential. Mauga is meta rn, but when he gets nerfed, Doom is still A tier. Even in GM (where I play), teams just fold to Doomfist if they don't counterswap hard.
A teir is an exaggeration. If a regular schmuck picked Doom he would be equivalent to a C+ or B teir. You have to be fucking good to play Doom that well and you can get easily hard countered by a single pick.

As a Ball one trick I’m playing Baldur’s gate 3 and having a blast this season
Changing damage is a really scary thing, as changing a damage number between characters is not equivelent. For example. Sym is only viable since her alt fire is exactly 100 damage. Meaning a say global 10% damage reduction hits a sym harder than say a soldier. Now, sym needs to charge and hit 3 shots, each needing a second to charge, but a soldier needs like 2-3 extra bullets. Radical changes to the game need to happen, but it will be so insanely hard to do because characters are so different
On Mauga versus Orisa.
Had a game in QP and I was going Rein, we were getting wrecked by the monke, but I kept up the Rein for honours sake.
Their tank after we finally broke through switched to DVA, they tried Sigma, honestly if their next bet was to go Ram I'd have been fine.
They tried Orisa, so I instantly went back to spawn, took out Mauga, and laughed my ass off at the horse.
Like, Mauga is a character that tends to feel dirty bringing out, but horse versus a Rein when you already got an Ana + Mei. Nah bro, you get big smiling man.
I picked Mauga in a match where it felt we couldn't win they already had 2 points on flashpoint and I was like I'm just going to throw as Mauga and then we proceeded to win three points in a row and I went like 40-2 on him. I had just picked him up. He's crazy.

TBH I love lifeweaver. The brainless aim is honestly so good for toxicity by being able to heal your team mates that want to play things like genji. When those tiny characters are moving at mach jesus, you can sustain them. and pulling people from awful situations is so rewarding lol

Rein needs a good rework. Maybe something with his shield. The damage he blocks he heals himself or team mates. Or when he blocks "X" amount his swings deal range damage or does more damage.
zen main here, and yeah i've actually been doin just fine against mauga honestly, just gotta off angle mauga and dip in and out of cover (stealing his focus away from your own tank so he doesn't get the self healing as much) then pray your own tank sees what you're doin and helps (works well with orisa or sigma)

As a Ramattra main, I think now that Ram can function much better in omnic/staff form Nemesis form cool-down should go back to 8 seconds, as it was changed to 7 seconds a while ago because Orisa was dominating. I don’t want Ram to be too overpowered (at least until Mauga is nerfed), otherwise I fear he will be nerfed into the floor.

This is a metal rank issue. Maugas can aim the higher elo u go. When shooting 1 gun u have 0 spread.

He does too much damage with 2 guns. But 1 gun is 72 damage per second and that is pretty trash aim or not. His self heal is tired to that damage.
His issue id he's inconsistent.
Up close with overdrive? Op and unkillable.
Further off without? Melted
Shields? Matrix? Ana? All exasperate the issue. He is so feast or famine it's insane.

I was playing Hog vs Mauga and at some point he pop his ultimate, I’m stock with him, pop my ultimate too +Kitsune Rush, and I can’t even figure it out how but he survived it. This is how broken Mauga is rn

If they do change the healing/damage problem I think they'd try one more time with how the game works in season 9, then in season 10 advertise it as being a huge new rework to the game, almost like a fortnite chapter but slightly different, with a large amount of buffs and nerfs probably every 3 or so days
then you kill the casual player base who doesn’t auto queue for ranked one after another. not everyone’s gonna wanna sit down and see what the new change of the day is. oh look genjis dash does 150 damage now or some shit like that now you have to relearn how to engage with every single character. not everyone plays every single day

I have found that sigma can shut down bad mauga players at least. Shield up to stop his support healing, rock when he goes overdrive. I've gotten a lot of Mauga's to actually switch off due to sigma shutting him down.
Yeah, last night I bullied a Mauga into switching by using Sigma and just denying damage. It doesn’t work all the time tho
I played Sigma into Maïga yesterday, and I figured out that trying to kill a Mauga that is actively looking for killing you is not the best. You have low chance to keep up with his damage. But one great thing I figured out is as Sigma, you can simply shoot you balls pass Mauga and bully everything behind him
@@Ravitas3as a gold 2 tank who has been mostly been playing mauga and trying to learn him, the key is to poke him into popping his lifesteal and then dipping the fuck out until it is almost out. If you push him after it is out he'll prolly run away(like I do) to regroup but if you push near the end of it he will prolly to squeeze what he can out of it. He has a much worse time dealing with dps so harassing him with smaller tanks like JQ and fast/slippery dps like tracer and sombra will divide both the mauga's attention and his supports' attention. Tanks like sigma/zarya will not hardcounter him the same way horse hardcounters hog or Doom, but will absolutely fuck with him. Rein's shield is also very annoying to deal with ironically.
Tldr: the less mauga has to shoot, the worse time he'll have. Zarya/sigma/JQ and dive are good provided the tank can pressure him and yall already know good supports. Moniter his lifesteal, it's a 12 sec cooldown from when the ability fully ends and tanks should not full commit on a mauga until they know he doesn't have it cause he will hardfocus the tank and will refuse to die. But yesterday I definitively came with one of your conclusion, the less bullets he hit, the better it was. After facing some Mauga, I figured out that Mauga will most likely never die if he keep shooting at something(Which usually is the tank). At this point, I avoided frontal confrontation with the enemy Mauga. With Sigma, the best I did was to play very hard around corner
I guess now I will try to force him to use lifesteal, then hide and after that coming back in order to force him to fall back. Usually when a tank is forced to fall back, he expose is entire team. Which is a good thing
@@Ravitas3 yep. That's how I win mauga mirrors. Poke the corner till I hear his lifesteal(he'll give a loud "ha haaa!") then I just wait a few seconds and rush him. He'll still usually have some lifesteal but then I win the dps race with my lifesteal cause my team would likely have been shooting at him or his team from different angles, and from there I just hold whatever space I need cause no squishy besides a good tracer or genji can really contest a mauga and his team

47:45 holy shit this is so true. sometimes i switch to lw when my team needs more healing and i just healbot my tank and pocket him the entire game and we win. i normally have over 10k in qp and over 20k in comp. thats crazy tbh

Preliminary rebalance ideas.
Doomfist- Replace 150 health with shields, allow power block to block/parry 1 stun ability.
Roadhog- Increase breather cooldown to 2 or 3 seconds, so stuns actually have some impact in preventing his insane survivability.
Mauga- Lower armor to 150 or completely remove it, lower lifesteal in cardiac to 60%.
Ana- Lower bio nade's anti to 50% and heal boost to 30%, reduce cooldown by 3 or 4 seconds.
Those were probably the biggest offenders to the game's balance currently, these changes should bring them more in line without adding any extensive reworks.

@duckseatbread104 And breather now has next to no counterplay other than picking Ana. Before if you were playing a hero with CC, you could potentially bait out and cancel breather since it had an 8 second cooldown. But if it's enough of a problem for Hog's fluidity, they could just do something like Sombra's hack, but just increase the cooldown when interrupted rather than decrease it.
All he needs it the parry tbh, but I would also accept if they give his beta techs back since it adds more depth, skill expression and fun.
The best way to counter cage fight is just for the supports to grow some balls but if you aren't playing with friends they never do.

Considering the goal is probably to have every character in rank A & B (impossible - especially since it’s somewhat subjective) - I’d say they’ve done a pretty good job!
They only have 4 heroes to tweak. But in doing so, it shoots other heroes up or down. It’s really a never ending chase.
I think the devs don’t get enough credit. They have to try and balance for ALL ranks ANDDD for PC & console. It can’t be as easy as some players think.
Well the problem I have is that as a tank you just get counterswapped to death. And I hate it. Im a rein main, and hes already trash, wich fine not my meta, but then I get counterswapped on top of it its just what do you even do.

How to make rein playable: make his charge less buggy and actually pin people, and make his shield have a higher hp, or I was thinking maybe more armor due to the fact he is a guy in a mechasuit, and maybe give his barrier damage mitigation with the same amount as armor, minus 5 per dmg or half off damage, so spam like junk and pharah are still effective while dps like mauga and bastion are mitigated.
The reason Rein is bad isn't because he's actually bad, it's because the games balance is very bad rn, so they need to nerf the meta stuff instead of generating power creep.
What do yall think about the idea of a game mode id call "Classic" where every character would revert back to their original state so for example sum would have 6 turrets, and storm arrows would be brought back for Hanzo etc and make it a ltm
I think its the massive life steal skill plus the only character that has a status effect on a pimary fire and has no need to aim for heads because of it. Also maybe a little bit of constant overhealth never going away. Only counter is Ana if their kiriko doesnt actually use suzu right, but I mean Ana counters pretty much everyone in the game lol. I also think Mei shouldnt be able to contest in her Ice healing, but if they make it to where you can break her out of it (LIKE HER WALL) then sure let her contest in it.
Also one thing ive noticed and I'm COMPLETELY confused about, I've seen this plenty of times. Why are people's cooldowns instantly resetting when they have 5 seconds left on it. I've seen a Kiriko teleport, started shooting at her and she teleported AGAIN. The kill cam showed her teleport have 5 more seconds and it just.... reset. Good Game blizzard.

It sucks that Mauga is busted because I finally got my islander representation and then he's immediately OP and poorly balanced so the community is gonna hate him for a looong time
Flats said it really well when he said that the issue is less of just "supports" and more of just general damage numbers, and the healing needed to sustain that. Power creep has been substantial. Personally, i think it stems from the "hero fantasy" thing that blizzard tries to hold onto; how they make every hero they like something you can "carry" with. That's not healthy.
As for healing, my lucio heals/10 is 6k (with decent dmg and my speed:heal ratio never drops below 50:50) AND YET I've been told to off myself because I'm "not doing anything." The numbers are just so SO inflated

Mauga is simply broken my guy. In order to have a chance to kill him you need 3 of your previously mentioned counters. But if they have a good kirko 3 won't make a difference and you need an entire team of counters

Supports may not be as uberstrong as last season, but that's really only because Mauga exists -- some of the pre-season nerfs on them were good but most didn't do much -- and even then that was no reason to buff Kiriko like they did this season, like wtf Blizzard.
Frankly, I just feel bad for Cass/Rein/Hamm; it's painfully obvious they're well out of their depth, and them not being Supports makes the ignoring on Blizzard's end just that much more obvious.

I began playing ow2 when I was injured on valentine's day. Before then I regularly ran the biggest hill in Los Angeles, inspiring people along the way. I coincidentally picked up brig before knowing anything about her passive and rally was improved 2 months later in season 4 because I was meant to return better, to continue to inspire.
