Graduated Columbia 2004. My classmates included someone from almost every country and religion you could think of. I was so blessed to have so many diverse friends. Yes my Croat friend despised my Serb friend. My Jewish friend was convinced our German professor was discriminating against him. My Muslim friend almost got into a fist fight at a bar with an off duty NYPD officer who was a first responder. My car got broken into on riverside drive. But we all felt safe walking around campus. That was an extremely safe place surrounded by crime. This “protest” was total bullshit and you should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Several countries have laws or regulations that restrict or penalize conversion from Islam to other religions, including: 1. Saudi Arabia: Apostasy laws prescribe death penalty for leaving Islam. 2. Afghanistan: Conversion from Islam is considered apostasy, punishable by death or imprisonment. 3. Pakistan: Blasphemy laws, while not specifically targeting conversion, can lead to accusations and violence against those leaving Islam. 4. Somalia: Conversion from Islam is illegal and punishable by death. 5. Yemen: Apostasy laws prescribe death penalty for leaving Islam. 6. Brunei: Sharia law, introduced in 2014, prescribes death by stoning for apostasy. 7. Sudan: Conversion from Islam is punishable by death. 8. Mauritania: Apostasy laws prescribe death penalty for leaving Islam. 9. Qatar: Conversion from Islam is illegal and punishable by imprisonment. 10. United Arab Emirates: Conversion from Islam is illegal and punishable by imprisonment. 11. Malaysia: While not strictly illegal, conversion from Islam is heavily restricted and can lead to state-sanctioned rehabilitation programs. 12. Egypt: While not illegal, conversion from Islam can lead to social ostracism, family rejection, and legal challenges. Please note that laws and regulations can change, and enforcement may vary. Additionally, social and cultural attitudes toward conversion can be just as influential as legal frameworks. This list is not exhaustive, and other countries may have similar laws or restrictions.
There is a real lack of awareness by professors of the history of their own universities. I have lived in five american cities, and in each one at some time a mostly black neighborhood was cleared by a university working with developers police and city government. Those of us who live outside the walls see the institutional violence of universities all the time.
Kudos to them and everyone else that is opposing the mass murder in Gaza and the West Bank. But as far as a police state goes, you really should have noticed that during "Covid" .
@@71suns Nonsense. The only difference is that you ignorantly support the Covid police state so you cannot see it for what it was: A completely cynical financial and political power grab based on pure hype and lies.

Yeah, this students protests started out well meaning, but now they've become something that detracts attention from the conflict. 'Cause as I type this, Israel is already bombarding Rafah and coverage is still of students protesting
The students are reacting to events media hides from us. So of course media goes after the symptom not the cause. Ultimately the attention will be paid.
This isn’t true at all. If you watch videos from the protests, the students are saying OVER AND OVER AND OVER ON VIDEO THAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT THE PALESTINIANS. It is echoed over and over and over, they know very well the media is trying to spin it to make it look like it’s about them.

You are talking about a very small students, plus you are not helping your cause because most American are against you.
Thanks University Comrade !!
Keep it up
The paradox is that students are still young enough to believe the things their parents taught them, and have not yet learned that it was all a lie.
