Why are people on this video forum to frighten people?? I am here to read positive stories from people who have tried this medication. As the doctor as already stated, not all medications work for everyone; and why would they when we are so all individual? Fair enough if you’ve taken it and had a bad experience- but why deter people and scare them into not taking it. Also if your sex life is too important than freeing yourself from crippling anxiety and depression maybe people should re evaluate there priorities for a while. As the doctor mentioned if you do get side effects they are usually short lived, otherwise try something else as it may not be the medication for you. If our anxiety is too much while taking it; isn’t it the actual anxiety we suffer with in the first place ?? Rather than the ‘medicine’ causing it? Something to think about as I’ve had to tell myself the same. I thought this was a great valuable video and whoever else is on this journey I am on day 3. 15 years of anxiety and depression disabling me and it doesn’t get any better, only worse... its just a progressive illness like anything else if not treated.
Thanks for your well thought out and articulate response. Too often we have the tendency to think that what happens in our own personal world must be the truth for everybody else and all should follow it. We are all individuals and have different genetic makeups that process medications different. To throw out a life changing treatment path because of a possible side effect is sad. I hope that you find what works for you. Good luck!
Not me.....I have been on Lexapro for a long time and it is one of single best things to EVER of happen to me. It took my severe, overwhelming GAD and crushed into submission. I mean pulverized it. I can't get anxious if I put all my will into it. People bash the libido reducing effects, however, as a celibate Buddhist, the libido crushing effects are much welcomed and have enhanced my meditation and spiritual path. Sure, I may look like a walking zombie to the Western world, but I sure as shit feel good doing it. I wish Lexapro was available when I needed it most....25 years ago when I was a teen struggling with constant day in, day out fear that got me NOWHERE in life. 15 years of anxiety and depression is WAY to long. I know, I've been there.
Golden Manuever Hello, I am really glad to have read your experience with this medication. I too suffer with what you describe, GAD, anxiety in its most severest form. I am now on day 4 of taking this medication. I honestly feel ok, no side effects that are troubling me so far. If I am to get side effects when are these likely to occur? I am feeling nothing so far. Would it be anything to do with the fact that I have been on antidepressant medication a few years ago? I really feel positive that this medication can work for me? I was on Prozac before for 6 months but was feeling numb and had anxiety whilst taking it so i stopped them. I am glad to hear you are well..
Erik Richardson D.O. Thank you for your reply. This video gave me hope. I am very grateful for that. I am on day 4 of taking the medication. No side effects to report so far, if I am to start experiencing side effects when is that likely to start? Also how long is this medication safe to use for and when coming off it- are there any success stories you can share. Thank you.
Melanie Hi Melanie. First off please by all means ignore these videos in which someone tells us about their experience 20 minutes after taking Lexapro. It take a MINIMUM of 90 days for this to straighten the serotonin issue out. That is how slowly it “ramps up.” During that 90 days is when you’ll experience a change IF ANY aka side effects. For me, being a healthy and fit male it increased my libido and by 180 days it was all gone. Other than that, I’ve had NO side effects. The weight gain for me has been nominal. I am lean and strong so +5lbs hasn’t been much of a change.
I've been on Lexapro for 2 months now and have noticed a big change in my anxiety. I can stay away from home for much longer than before. I no longer panic at the merr thought of going out of town or spending the night somewhere other than home. My patience with my students has greatly increased. I had a fight in my class the other week and one kid had a bloody nose. I didn't panic. I didn't even yell. I just handled it. That never would have happened before.
I’ve been on Lexapro for 2 months and have felt great. I never had any side effects - I am more balanced emotionally and notice a positive change. June 2021 - I am still on lexapro 10mg daily. I still feel an improvement in my overall well-being. I did not experience any negative side effects. No appetite changes, no weight gain, no sexual side effects. I understand that not all medications will work for everyone but this significantly helped me. December 2021 - on 1/1 it will be 2 years on lexapro!!! This medication really did change my life for the better.
Been fighting anxiety for years and i regret i did not see a doctor asap. This med helped me get through the storm im battling. Now, it feels like a calm river .....never felt this good. Thanks to this med
@@sundaymoon000 Lexapro worked pretty Good for 2 years Started working for me in 3-4 days and no i'm not lying or joking as you will also find it kicks in for many others in 3 -4 days also just research youl find it. well any wat then slowly stoped working after i took that horrible injection of Dexamethisone for taking a product i became allergic to- Steroid the worse psychoses AND OVER 2 years later ROID RAGE made me loose friends and family unserstanding.some people commited suicide after years of suffering from Steroid . its taken 5 years to recover and not fully yet. i tryed lexapro again but it did not work at all any more. trying a related SSRI that has more dangerous side effects but in the SSRI i would think it would be O.K. but that is not all way's true. i noticed so many bad complaints from other related SSRI'S. prozac -zitalipram
I used to have panic attacks multiple times a day and I’ve been on Escitalopram now for 2 years and I haven’t had a panic attack for months. I am way more confident and happy
Did your anxiety or stress ever cause you to dissociate or feep high.. fuzzy brain? I vroke up with my suicidal and abusive ex 2 months ago and developed anxiety.. she also took our 7 month old soon whom I just got back. I have had a few anxeity attacks and hospital trips.. daily axniety, and most days almost feel a little high. I just started escitalopram yesterday and am just looking for support and info
@@Sobiwankenobi yes I felt the same, it was like my brain and body had a slight de sync. But that went away fully after about two weeks as I adjusted to it :)
@@marijajankovic7360 I’m still on it, it works for me so I’m going to keep using it. It depends on what mg you’re on, I’m on 20mg so that would be hard to kick, but if you’re taking less it’ll be easier obvs
I am a ,71Yr old woman and have been taking this for about 2yrs.I can cope a lot better now .I sleep better ,not so anxious or down. I'm raising my grandsons and need all the help I can get
I love my Lexapro !!! It really helps me. I have taken Lexapro/ Generic version for over 10 years now. Best SSRI for me. I don't know where I would be without it !!!
I've been on lexapro for almost two years. I personally have never had a side effect and can only tell you my story. Lexapro has literally saved my life. My anxiety makes my rage build up higher and higher. Like a house of cards, the slightest mistake and it came crashing down. This has made my mind a calm bastion and has really brought light to my life. If you're hesitant, please do your homework and understand how it works.
@@ahmedfraz8324 At first I felt very strange. Really unlike myself. After 2 to 3 weeks that feeling went away and the fog started to lift. After a month I was totally fine. Just takes time for your body to process the balancing effect of the medicine. If you feel like your new medication isn't working you should contact your Dr. and let them know every detail.
@@ahmedfraz8324 Prozac takes longer to activate and it’s an older anti depressants. Something to its half life of the drug that can affect its efficacy timing. Talk to your doctor, and do NOT seek advice on social media or RUclips! Everyone is different so what may work for others may not work for you! Consider switching to a newer anti depressant, however under guidance of a psychiatrist. A trained professional.
@@ErikRichardsonDO but antipsychotics & antidepressants are DANGEROUS medicines than narcotics in long term use!!? I taken several yrs.. found negative effects
I think I owe my life to lexapro. I was not suicidal, I have too many people that love me to be taking my own life, but I seriously believe that anxiety and severe depression was slowly killing me. I would have stayed in bed ALL DAY if I could have. I can’t imagine doing that now. I’m going out more now, and I’m really looking forward to the summer here in Australia. Please consider this drug if you’re suffering with anxiety and depression....it certainly worked for me. 👍🏽🌹
That’s me right now... been in bed for the last two months. My depression is sever and same with my anxiety. I’ve lost 20 pounds.. I’m not suicidal but I want this feeling to stop. I’m going to try lexapro out. I tried Zoloft and duloxetine and they didn’t work for me. They actually made me feel worse so I’m a little nervous to try medication again.
You can have lots of people that love you and still be in a suicidal state, that statement was slightly ignorant. Mental health is more complex than that.
May those that take it be Blessed with Good effects and not be plagued with worrying about anything that hasn't happened yet that they read on the leaflet! Please, may those that take it be Blessed with it's Good Effects, Aameen Summa Aameen.
I’d just like to say that I appreciate your comment that depression, et al. are true medical issues that need / must be addressed in a professional medical setting. I’d also like to add that I felt your empathy for the subject matter, and for your patients needs, and for the faceless masses that is RUclips. Thank you for your effort to he,p people.
I have ptsd, I take this. Works great. had to stop it for surgery, I’ve been going through an emotional roller coaster/spiral. Thank you for the side effects explanation. I’m trying my best to keep my emotions in check. I’m self aware, but man it’s hard not to have crying fits or fleeting thoughts. After surgery in 20days I go right back on it. Been on it 2yrs so far. It’s been a huge improvement in my life. The sweating in my sleep was bothersome 1st week off it, also headaches, then it was like I was fine, lost 5lbs 1st 4 days off it. Weights coming off I noticed I gained during use. Not big to begin with so it doesn’t bother me what I gain or lose. Had to confide in my best friend I’m off my meds for emotional support. It’s not easy
@@emilyann7354 For me the side effects lasted a couple of weeks and then they gradually diminished. Been taking this med for almost 8 yrs now and i have not had any anxiety attacks and my depression is gone.
Day 6 and I’ve had good days and bad. Today hasn’t been so good. I have trouble sleeping and I’m thinking sad thoughts. I’m alone I feel lonely. I’m a truck driver and I’m alone. I hope I can change like you
I never write youtube comments but this really helped me actually take my new medicine today. I was scared to switch depression meds but this is so helpful thank you.
I have been on very low dose for a year, I have noticed a huge benefit! I have all the emotions but reactions to it has improved. I am more centered and less anxious. I am seeing a therapist regularly as well.
@@amnafarhan4712 I am on 5mg. It is going to be strange for a week or so but stay on it. I take it at night to better adjust the symptoms. And you might be constipated but the benefits out way the side effects.
What I don’t understand is when people worry about side effect If you really suffered depression Then the side effects are nothing I remember saying to myself I would prefer a broken leg than depression That’s how bad it is I also had eye surgery Very painful the first night And guess what I welcomed it It took my mind off depression Could think about depression I was more in eye pain And I remember saying This is nothing If you can put up with depression You can do anything The fact is If you suffer It won’t hurt trying
You are absolutely right. Depression isn't something that you have to just put up with. There are options out there and relief in sight. Thanks for watching!
IndieKaylee Sorry I don’t agree I tried many other ways Nothing worked It came to a stage I hated life Tramadol was the key I still take it off and on So I haven’t abused it But it really gave me motivation
I've been depressed since I was a kid but I just didn't know it. Always been against medication. Now, at 28, I can't imagine any of the side effects actually being worse than the ones I already have. Too many years suffering. Time to try it!
Been on lexapro for just 9 days and I'm already thinking more positively than I EVER have, like even before I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder. It's wild
@@nanazbound Literally it keeps getting better. I've been confronting all my intrusive thoughts. It's hard work, but with lexapro, it's like my brain is gently being guided through my fears to the point where im not worrying about them, but in fact, it's becoming clear why the fears sprouted in the first place. Truly ive never been happier!
I have been on Lexapro for over a month. I am now on 15mg daily. It started to change my life right away when i started taking (gradually built up the dose). I suffer from depression and bad anxiety and i only wish i started taking this medication sooner. I am starting to feel like myself again! In the beginning i felt slightly nauseous and had dry mouth but it went away within the first two weeks. Highly recommend giving it a try.
Just started lexapro. In case I (hopefully) dont need this channel again, I just wanna say that this was very informative and for whatever reason I actually feel like the host is someone i can trust.
I started Lexapro 6 weeks ago. I felt a bit nauseous for the first couple weeks, but thats it. Its hard to explain but I feel much better. I had bad anxiety (including fear of doctors and hadn't been for 20 years) so going to the doctor was really hard but Im so glad I did. He was very understanding and prescribed it (5mg) I started to notice after a couple weeks I was just more content. Thanks for the thoughtful video.
Escitalopram works well for me! I could feel a difference right away. It made it hard to do sexual stuff, but once my body got used to the medication that problem slowly went away. I do notice a difference when I forget to take my meds, so I have a cup of water and a plate on my bathroom sink to remind me to take my morning and night medications. I also take birth control for acne and levothyroxine for my underactive thyroid, and they all work well together.
@@avazip5792 Your body adjusts to the medication if you take the same dose regularly, and eventually you will be able to do sexy stuff again. If you do sexy stuff often, your body could be desensitized to it, so take a break and try again later. You can also experiment with toys, but it felt wierd for me. If it stresses you out, maybe focus on other stuff you like for now while your body adjusts? Also, if you need the antidepressants to be more potent, you can skip your dose for three days then resume. But, I have found that self care helps when the negative episodes are severe. Like, a weighted blanket, exercise, warm bath, warm apple cider tea, relaxing music, etc.
@@ahmedfraz8324 It worked immediately for me. It looses its effectiveness over time, so I had to take a break for about two days then take it regularly again for it to work.
*updated at end!* I already have heart palpitations I’m not sure if it’s even from my anxiety but I can’t explain how scared I am right now. I’ve just been staring at this medicine on my counter. If that’s a aside effect I can’t deal. Also I seen increase of seizures was one. My mom used to have seizures..... I have started to take this medication now. And oh my god......... I feel so much better and luckily for my I haven’t had any side effects yet. If you’re debating on it I would say just take it!
Ive been diagnosed with anxiety disorder my psychiatrist prescribed escitaloparm for like 2 weeks....It's just been 1week with escitaloparm i just feel much lively and free from anxiety FR!! Guys i never felt this much lively and more positive and free from unnecessary anxiety and worry feel a lot more connected with nature and feeling soo much better..........
Just got my first prescription for generic lexapro for my severe depression and anxiety this video gave me confidence in taking them we’ll see how it goes
If only I could find a doctor like you in the town where I live. I have lived with GAD and panic attacks for 17 years and the GP I have to see now is just not helpful and does not seem interested. I am having more trouble with anxiety now than I ever have. Thank you for the videos you do! I wish there were doctors here like you.
I have been taking it for 2 months and initially I took 10g. After a month I told my doctor about my improvement and so she now gave me 15 g prescription for another month. I'm on this medication rn..... I can see a lot of improvements 😊😊😊😊.
I have removed gluten from my diet and have noticed a massive reduction in my clinical depression & anxiety after only a few days. Brain fog has gone & am about to start tapering my Escitalopram. Definitely worth trying 👍
Thank you for pointing out that depression is also a sickness that requires medical treatment like diabetes and cancel. Some people just don’t get it. It is not about negative thoughts
Stopped lexapro after 8 days and never looked back. I have (had) pretty bad anxiety and PTSD. On Lexapro, i was seconds away from taking my life. Remember that "serotonin theory" is still just a theory, and true effect of these meds is not known. For me, the scariest part was ED, and possibility of PSSD. In 2 months I was able to recover, from the acute stage of anxiety. Reading books about ptsd/anxiety, daily journaling, crap loads of pre/pro biotics, nutritional yeist, vit d and omega 3, magnesium, multivitamin. THE KEY IN ANXIETY RECOVERY, IS TO DO THINGS THAT FEEL PARTICULARLY UNCOMFORTABLE AT THAT MOMENT. For me, at first it was going out of house, driving somewhere and than return to work. Anxiety can be completely recovered, but you have to have the right state of mind, and understand that it will take time.
Thank you because pills doesn’t seem like the way out for me. I been battling for only a month and I really want to get over this very bad! But everyone is pointing me to pills 🤦🏾♂️
Been on Adderall for years and then I consulted my doctor to get this stuff and feel as though I don’t even need my Adderall anymore this is all I needed
I've taken 15-20 mg of Lexapro for a year and a half but made the decision to stop since I didn't want to be a financial burden to my mother as well as actually feeling better because of it. A couple years later and I'm in one of the worse places mentally that I've been in a long time. Not quite suicidal like I was before taking Lexapro and going to therapy, but literally feeling all my symptoms of depression (that were all mentioned in this video). I started tearing up realizing I may never be happy
Hey, im sorry you had to stop due to the financial burden antidepressants caused. I hope you’re doing okay! Keep yourself busy until you can take them again; work, martial arts or art art, diy crafts anything you’re passionate about and can help you keep your mood elevated.
Today is my 8th day of taking Escitalopram. My anxiety is through the roof. I am still holding on and wait it out. I am hopeful and I have faith. Hopefully everything will be okay soon. Stay strong and have faith!
SB hello how aré you? I hope well. Can i make you dime questions? How long Lexapro took to feel an improvement in you? Have you ever take the same Dossage for all this Time? I have been on 15 mg for 19 days an I feel just a litte improvement. No side effects. I have depression and anxiety? Thank you so much!!
I took this for depression and high anxiety. The only side affect I had was nausea for the first week I was on it and after that it went away. I also had a lower labido but that wasn't a concern, I was single at the time and sex wasn't high on the agenda. I've been off it now for about a year and I still have some anxiety but it's at a manageable level and have healthy ways to manage it now ☺️ but this definitely helped get me over the hump.
Oh and another concern I had was that I would feel like a zombie. My friends said that's how they felt. I didn't feel like this on lexapro. I felt normal. And wasn't having the mega lows and panic attacks. But I still felt stuff.
Glad it was helpful, thanks for watching! Usually symptoms like that tend to get better after a week or two. Sometimes changing when you take it can help. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about what the best option would be to you. Good luck!
Thank you for this video. I got my pills three days ago but after reading the list of side effects from the pharmacy I’ve been too scared to start since my anxiety already makes me feel tired all the time and I really wouldn’t want to feel even more tired since I have school and homework that I need to do. That and the rare side affects always get stuck in my mind when it comes to medicine but after watching this video and reading some of the comments I feel a lot more confident in starting it and even if it doesn’t work at least I’ll know rather than always wondering.
Now this is a Doctor. I have suffered from depression and chronic anxiety. Doc puts me on wellbutrin which even he says causes anxiety. This man knows. Most psychiatrists just presrcibe and dont know shit i noticed having changing doctors through 13 years in Canada. So there are Doctors out there like this but rare.
Thanks for the video, it was super helpful! I just started Lexapro a few days ago and I've been feeling pretty nauseous and had some wicked headaches. Hopefully that will decline over the next week or two!
I take escitalopram since June 2019 and in the first 3-4 weeks were very bad but now i feel amazing and all my side effects are gone (except i love to sleep a lot and I gained like 7kg ) but i definitely feel muchh better and have tons of energy! This medication changed my life for the better! I was soo scared to start it so i spend 5 years with a terrible anxiety and panic attacks... now i finally can live! I wish everyone to have no doubt and if they get that prescribed to try it!
So glad you've found such great relief. Not everybody has that response for sure but the majority of my patients are just like you. Thanks for watching!!
I was prescribed this yesterday. I pick up my Rx today! I’m excited to start taking it. I am ready for a better overall well being, and I hope it curbs my cravings to drink
This is a well performed and expediant guide. I may not return to this channel, so I present here my gratitude for the labor that was required, and care that was taken.
I am having some side effects, but Lexapro is helping me well. I can feel that. I hope that people don't be afraid of this drug by watching this video.
My parents scared me off taking it, other things happened, and the same symptoms that led to the prescription made me particularly terrible at taking it regularly (especially with the ridiculous 'recommendations' my parents practically demanded I follow from a nurse friend. So I was never on it long enough to notice anything. I will have to try again.
I gotta admit though. Those depression symptoms seemed accurate, but I'm not particularly as 'sad' as I used to be. Just... over-relying on escapism (nothing technically harmful in itself, just a HUGE time sink). To an unhealthy degree. I panick over assignments to the point where the issues exceeds procrastination, and I think it's bc they are hard, sure, but also bc Im terrified of messing them up. And constantly trying to escape reality...
Just started Escitalopran 2 weeks ago. 1st day today, where I've been feeling really drowsy. But that's it as side effects go for me. I'm on 10mg at the moment. Overall my mood has been much better.
I wish I found this sooner, I asked my doctor what the medication does or what the side effects might be and all she said is "it makes your mood better"
Took my first dose, 5mg, and that will be my last. My mom and aunt take this and they’re fine. My personal experience, but I felt/still feel TERRIBLE. Been puking and diarrhea all day long with chills and heat flashes. Haven’t been able to eat absolutely anything all day, super nauseous. Anxiety is at a thousand and I wanna cry. So for me, did the total opposite.
This has happened to me with every SSRI I have taken. I ended up in the ER on fluids each time. This medicine worked really well for a lot of people I know, though. It turned out I have bipolar disorder and my brain responded well to an epilepsy medication instead.
I have been taking this medication for almost a year myself. I have no positive words to say about this medication. Rather, it caused me to experience additional depression. Most of the time, I felt powerless and unable to do anything. At some point, I stopped taking this medication. I no longer take any medication. In the beginning, it was difficult, but now, a year later, I feel better than when I was taking that medication. In my opinion, this medication messed everything up instead. It made me numb. At least it did for me.
I had very shaky hands and jaw when starting with 20mg in the first few days. It forced me to retreat to 5mg to start. I am on Day 10 now, insomnia is still here and doesn't subside.
My doctor prescribed me with escitalopram 10 mg but she said to take it in half of the tablet at the first 6 days, then take 1 whole tablet for the 7th and upcoming days, she also prescribed me with clonazepam. I was diagnosed with depression and generalized anxiety disorder, hope these medications will work. I will update after a week :>
It's worked really well for me. Quite quickly too with no side effects. Yes for a male libido is effected but that's only for a month or so. People say they gained weight but that's just due to lifted moods which might make you eat more. It did wonders for me. Now I'm weening off to see how I'll hold up without it. All the best with it and don't be afraid to try it if you need it
Ive been taking escitalopram 10 mg for more than 3yrs now. II can say itworked for me. All i can remembered was the first 2 weeks of taking this., i was yawning big time😅 . My depression and anxiety got worst when my Mother died and also the covid time. I cant even go to groceries and to the mall without being worried what might happened to me, i know this pill is not for everyone.don’t stop asking ur doctor for another brand to try.
Huge anxiety and depression hit me the last time my boss yelled at me. Something just happened to me. I tried to exercise but it wasn’t enough. I started at 5, then 10 mg, after few months I went back to 5, now I cut it in half so 2.5 mg. I think the problem is many doctors just prescribe it specially in the U.S. You are not married? No Kids? Taking care of elderly parents? Drawing in student loans? Feel politicians like Biden only help special groups and not you? You feel invisible? You feel you are drawing in medical bills too??? I have a solution for you: take Lexapro!!! In the U.S. we don’t solve the cause of issue, we just give you a bandaid
Was hoping this medicine would work for me. I took it for three days and am now running away from it. I’ve never dealt with panic disorder but the second day I took the medicine I was on side of the road in an ambulance having a panic attack. I had two more follow that in the next hour. Didn’t take it the next day, took it again because I’m desperate and on the way to work the same Morning, and hour later had another panic attack. Chest started burning, eyes got blurry, fingers started tingling and my heart was racing. During my first panic attack (only second one I’ve ever had) it was so scary I literally thought maybe someone put cocaine or MDMA in my food or drink without me knowing. Today when talking about the what the medication, in my opinion, was doing to me, I couldn’t for the life of me remember what day it was. I’ve never been on this medicine before but I do know it was the only change I’ve made in just the few 3 short days I started it. To me, no other explanation for the Al of a sudden panic I was experiencing
This is exactly what happened to me. I took it for 2 days. The night I tried to sleep, I kept having hypnic jerks throughout the whole night, terrible insomnia, panic attacks, heart felt like it was beating out my chest, vision was blurry and shaky. I'll never touch an antidepressant ever again .
I had horrible side effects from escitalopram. This is the 2nd antidepressant I had a bad reaction to. I am afraid to try anything else. I had burning mouth syndrome, gut issues, canker sores, angular cheilitis and the list goes on. I have been off for 3 months now and I am not doing well. This is one of the hardest antidepressants to get off of. My physical health has been ruined. I wish the good Lord would take me home.
After getting sick from covid. My anxiety and depression were really high and for six months after covid I could stop being sad and scared, I Finally I talked to my doctor. And I can see improvement already 🙏
I was also but take it at bedtime sleep better no pain no exhaustion wake Up feeling like a new exciting day is comming I waited a month and tryed 1/2 tablet but was feeling physically sick So thought can't get much worse so took whole one at bed on for about month And half feel like myself hope this helps your doubts 💕
i've been on it for 10 days and i'm a sweaty sleepy mess. But I am way more active and productive than I was before I started taking it, so i'm not going to stop and i'm not too worried. When I was on paroxetine it took a full two weeks for side effects to ease down.
Was on Lexapro for a WEEK. Couldn't get past the extreme insomnia, sleep deprivation and worst of all - sexual side effects. I would strongly urge the younger crowd in particular (I'm 27 for the record) to really use these as an absolute LAST RESORT. More often than not I feel chemically castrated. I now have lingering ED, my genitals feel numb to the touch and half the time I'm completely unable to reach orgasm at all. My libido has increased since stopping (albeit marginally) but this is something to really consider before taking the medication (or any SSRI in general, because they all have this effect). I previously had a very sex drive, btw. Sadly, at this point I feel it's permanent. I'm angry and disappointed that my doctor never discussed this at all (only that there would be some "fatigue" and "constipation", neither of which were an issue) but at the same time I failed to conduct any research of my own. At the time I was so desperate for a miracle cure that I wasn't thinking with my head straight. Tread carefully, is what I'm trying to say.
Have you tried taking Viagra or Cialis? You should ask your doctor to give you Wellbutrin. It helps with ED as long as you don’t have high blood pressure, it is an antidepressant that they add to your regular regimen to combat loss of libido.
In my case I have started with zytomil (essitalopram). I have depression and at the same time anxiety and trichotillomania as well. Must say the first few days I feel light headed, nausea and tiredness. Now I just cut the dose by half. Will see how the side affects are. Must say I am very more chilled.
Lexapro probably works great for a lot of people, however I am not one of those people. I'm continuing with a talk therapy and starting to do yoga again instead of taking meds. I had just a single 10mg dose and I was taken off of it because I had racing heart, tingling, dizziness, nauseousness, felt clammy, my muscles kept tensing up for no reason, I couldn't sleep and I was shakey.
I had the MGs and same side effects as well as sweating in my sleep. Sweating more during the day. Unable to orgasm. No appetite and feelings of dread. I kept trying to oversleep because my sleep was broken up. I've only been on it 3 days and I'm just way too sensitive to it apparently.
Its the world we are living in. Meditation has helped me a lot. Chamomile and lavender tea and breathing exercise. The problem with me was that I got off my meds and stop meditation. Now I'm mentally exercising to recover my self again but I had to see my doctor again. Wish you the best
I’m on day 6 and feel the same ughhh I hope it goes away my anxiety feels like it got worse since taking the medication! I feel like you describe maybe 1-2x a week since taking the 10mg dose 6 days later these feelings are constant!!
I feel like it makes me happy one day and down the next! It depends on my surroundings . I’m not sure about it l. Today is a hard day for me! I feel so down that I can’t sit still and concentrate on anything. So tired of feeling like this! Been on it for a month’! I hope everyone is doing good and better than me .
I’ve been using lezapro on and off for about 12 years now, one problem I find is that being diabetic and using pills to control my blood glucose is that I have more tendency to have low blood glucose and have to carry sugary food with me . Also being older male it tends to be more difficult passing urine at night, sometimes being up 3 or 4 times at night to dribble 🤬🤬
Literally every antidepressant medication I've tried have caused extreme sedation and crippling physical health problems. Most just caused me to feel very drunk. I really don't understand why doctors think being intoxicated will help with mental health.
I have been taking Lexapro 10mg for about five or six years. It has had a very positive impact on my life and I would not consider going off it for a couple more years at least. Any time that I have come off it suddenly (unfortunately I didnt taper off it) has resulted in a return to me feeling very anxious and often with scary and paranoid thoughts.

Hello, I am really glad to have read your experience with this medication.

Glad it’s made such a difference, thanks for watching!

I also take birth control for acne and levothyroxine for my underactive thyroid, and they all work well together.
omggg that’s the one thing i can not stand with this medication is that having sex is really not as fun:( how can i fix this
@@avazip5792 Your body adjusts to the medication if you take the same dose regularly, and eventually you will be able to do sexy stuff again.

And people have also gotten out of depression without meds, that is also a reality.

Starting back on lexapro today after Zoloft made me feel horrible I’ve been on lexapro for 11 years I pray I’ll get better. 🙏🏽
I took it for a year, gradually stopped taking it and waited for about two months.
I started feeling like shit again so I started taking it again.
Did you have worse side effect starting it again?
💀💀
Seems like your becoming too attached to the drug
Hm
@@Vitalitay I’ll be taking it for life.
I was prescribed this yesterday. I pick up my Rx today! I’m excited to start taking it. I am ready for a better overall well being, and I hope it curbs my cravings to drink
Gey, how did it go for you?
This is a well performed and expediant guide. I may not return to this channel, so I present here my gratitude for the labor that was required, and care that was taken.
Have you considered started taking this medication?
It’s actually helped me with psychosis
Sköl
A life saver for me... very little side effects... I feel "normal"..
I am having some side effects, but Lexapro is helping me well. I can feel that. I hope that people don't be afraid of this drug by watching this video.
I been on Lexapro about 2 weeks I been have been feeling sick and dizzy I’m praying this gets better
Did it get better?
Same here
How'd it go?
Same but I just started I just get dizzy and tired with yawning
Today was my first day, thank you so much for this. Making me feel much more comfy with it 💗
How was it, my son was first day today too 10mg
How do you feel now?
Be careful, going off can be worse than the reason you started it.
It's scary being alive
I know
It’s okay
Life is surely hard, don’t be afraid of getting the help you need. Hope you are doing better.
Just started Escitalopran 2 weeks ago. 1st day today, where I've been feeling really drowsy. But that's it as side effects go for me. I'm on 10mg at the moment. Overall my mood has been much better.
Starting lexapro today....thank u . you made me feel safe and unafraid to take it. God bless u.
I started today, how you been?
@@aliciaibarrot32 How have you been? I’m starting soon. I hope you’re fine
Todo bien?
Escitalopram changed my life.
The medicine is amazing the 10mg was not working but the 20 mg was amazing 🤩
Could listen to you all day. Very calm and dont rush🙌🏻 cheers for the video
How is it working for u?
Hey! I also got prescribed the same thing
Update?
Thank you , you explained EXACTLY how I feel , worried of a side effect. Very well explained.
This video was super helpful. Been wondering about this medication. Thanks so much for sharing!!
@FROY
How?
You should try it for at least 90 days before stopping it. Its effect is not instant.
After getting sick from covid. My anxiety and depression were really high and for six months after covid I could stop being sad and scared, I Finally I talked to my doctor. And I can see improvement already 🙏
Same this is happening to me after covid. I feel much worse then i was before covid 😞. Which medicine did the doctor prescribe you?
For the first time in a while i felt real joy and feeling happy while on escitaloprám (lexapro) s
How long it took ?
My doctor prescribed me this for health anxiety and now I am scared to take this.
Me too 🥺
I was also but take it at bedtime sleep better no pain no exhaustion wake
Up feeling like a new exciting day is comming
I waited a month and tryed 1/2 tablet but was feeling physically sick
So thought can't get much worse so took whole one at bed on for about month And half feel like myself hope this helps your doubts 💕
Hi Dr! Your vibe is endearing and calming. Thank you.
Thank you for this truly helpful video. There needs to be more doctors like you in the world that explain everything fully and in clear terms!!
I agree!!!
i've been on it for 10 days and i'm a sweaty sleepy mess. But I am way more active and productive than I was before I started taking it, so i'm not going to stop and i'm not too worried. When I was on paroxetine it took a full two weeks for side effects to ease down.
Glad it’s helping, those kinds of effects usually do decrease.
Hey how are you now
I'm also taking this medicine and this is my day 11
Was on Lexapro for a WEEK.
My pp went back to normal after 1 weeks worth
You should try it for at least 90 days before stopping it. Its effect is not instant.
Sounds like regular anxiety..you really don’t feel the effects to about 3days to a week
@@Steph722NY hi, may i know how you feeling now after 2 weeks?
I wish you could be my doctor My doctors are mean
get a new doctor.
He seems like a great doctor.
Детерминизм это Свобода 🤙🤙 Determinism is Freedom 🤙
Don't b puss.
I came to say this too
I have been taking Lexapro 10mg for about five or six years. It has had a very positive impact on my life and I would not consider going off it for a couple more years at least. Any time that I have come off it suddenly (unfortunately I didnt taper off it) has resulted in a return to me feeling very anxious and often with scary and paranoid thoughts.
I'm on day 4 and my tongue is tingling and numb. Also tingling in my forearms.
day 1 and my anxiety is through the roof, almost worse
