It's like everything Thailand. There are some very smart Thais but there's an education system that is very nationalistic and a culture where money guarantees a pass, which means many don't want to learn
Yes Warren, Farang guys make plenty of mistakes, I have seen a multitude of guys do this over the decades. Me, well I am one of the lucky ones, next month we celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary.
Hello Warren and Chanya from Ohio. Some great logical information about living with a lady in Thailand. The differences between our cultures, etc are quite apparent. I couldn't deal with that rain situation, Warren. I'm a wimp, I admit it. Great to see Chanya, as always, but missed her fun interactions with you about the reason for the vlog. She could have her own vlog and I believe it would be very interesting. She would give you a run for your money. Take care you guys. ❤️
Rain was never my favorite weather in Australia, mostly because it carried on for days on end and it was cold and yucky! The rain here is fresh and cools the place down so we like it here. It's just inconvenient when there is too much of it.
Been a big fan of your channel for a few years now Warren (i'm a fellow Aussie). But your thoughts on speaking Thai with your significant other are kind of redundant if you yourself can't speak/understand Thai. Because you haven't bothered to learn Thai properly since you moved to Thailand, or bothered to go to a school to learn to speak, read and write Thai, you've got a bias skewed towards not learning Thai. Any foreigner out there who can speak, read and understand Thai to a decent level will tell you about the significant benefits of being able to speak to your partner, their friends and family, and Thai people in general in their native language. People who have a Thai partner who can only speak English to a level of a toddler will never be able to have a stimulating or meaningful conversation with their wife/partner, and they will never understand their partner fully, as they can only converse with their partner about very basic things. They miss out on all the nuance and distinct personality traits of the person, and they really have no idea about how that person thinks or feels about certain things if they can't understand their feelings in their native language. I feel you could definitely do more to promote the benefits of learning Thai on your channel - farang have no idea what they're missing out on by them not being able to speak Thai with their significant other. Hope this didn't come across as too harsh, as i'm a huge fan of your channel - but I feel that too many expats in the older age groups (40 and over) are missing out on a lot by not being able to speak, read and understand Thai.
I was going to reply tl:dr but since you went to so much trouble, I feel a reply is in order. My level of Thai comprehension on this channel is 'I don't speak Thai' - That is for RUclips!. The reason I constantly say this is that I simply want to avoid the 'language police' here on RUclips because all those people want to do is to have some sort of issue with everything. They are faceless people I will probably never meet and they simply don't move in the same circles I or my friends do. As for doing more of the Thai conversation part in our videos, it is something I am looking at now as we pivot the channel into something newer but I certainly want to avoid those grammar nazis that's for sure. All I can say at this point is that the two of us have very good communication with the Thai/English fusion language we've developed over the last 13 years. As for the point in the video, I still stand by my thoughts there and recommend you conduct those special conversations in the language that you have the posture in and where you are not more concerned about calling your new mother-in-law a horse or a dog.
Helpful this, I agree with all points, my woman’s family I struggled with but in the end i just saw there cancer of people, scum the low of the low. Mrs agrees it’s a shame really. They are lazy to boot and won’t change for anyone or the better….. the best thing about it all the mrs sees it so we don’t argue about it anymore.
Thanks for mentioning the IQ thing, I thought I was just imagining it.

Yes, there are some horror stories out there but generally, Thais are good people who find it hard to break out of the poverty cycle.
ive seen plenty of western men leave there brains at the airport when meeting Thai girls, if im honest I did as well the first few visits 😂
Yeah, your first few visits need to be off the wall but you can't live like that here
What are you doing with your left hand Chayna @ 17:18? You are married right and on camera.
