We need that in a goal scorer, the more he scores, the better. Because our wingers, besides Yamal, lack a goal threat. Raphinha, Ferran are not clinical enough. So we need Lewa to be behind these chances. And he’s already been better with his short combination play which is NOT his game but the players are getting much better at playing with him. A pacey striker is what we need soon to have a more vertical threat.

If we play Eric Garcia in the CDM role, we need Casado alongside him. Casado can cover ground so well. While Pedri/Olmo play advanced. Pedri alongside Eric/Christensen in a pivot will not work. Christensen especially, he’s too slow on the ball, and his recovery runs and time he takes to cover ground… I think Eric can read the game quicker, especially with the ball. The key is the more possession we have, the better. I think we can defend the counter pretty well with the way our fitness has looked. BUT… when we are defending deep, we get PUNISHED. For now, I prefer Casado before anyone in the CDM role. He’s good. He’s here to support so we need to use what we got.

Olmo’s presence promises plenty of benefits for Lewandowski like getting better at linking players in the attack. Also his playmaker role is pivotal in transitioning the team from midfield to attack. Bernals injury was avoidable. It was simply inexperience cos he had no business making that tackle the way he did. I’m truly gutted for him because injuries involving the meniscus are really career defining. It’s 60/40 against him but let’s hope
When I saw how he positioned his leg for that tackle, as a left footed players, I knew his knee would be affected. Yes, lack of experience played a part, too

@JamesPaye-xg4wj go and rewatch the tackle and see how he positioned his leg. I knew any impact there would twist the knee joint, and as someone nursing a knee injury, too, I know how fragile or sensitive the knee is to impact especially impact that twists the knee out of position

If we play Eric Garcia in the CDM role, we need Casado alongside him. Casado can cover ground so well. While Pedri/Olmo play advanced.
Pedri alongside Eric/Christensen in a pivot will not work.
Christensen especially, he’s too slow on the ball, and his recovery runs and time he takes to cover ground…
I think Eric can read the game quicker, especially with the ball.
The key is the more possession we have, the better. I think we can defend the counter pretty well with the way our fitness has looked.
BUT… when we are defending deep, we get PUNISHED.
For now, I prefer Casado before anyone in the CDM role. He’s good. He’s here to support so we need to use what we got.

As you move higher up the pitch, the space to think gets smaller, and the time frame to make a decision gets smaller, too. A good passer as a CB might struggle at CdM and a good passer as a CDM (like Busquets) might and did struggle when pushed higher up the field cos Luis Enrique tried him there once or twice

Additionally, the combination of Olmo and Yamal could create a dynamic and daunting duo on the field.
