That’s what happens when you hire a champion league winner manager before Barcelona didn’t hire any, that’s what we needed this whole time
Its been several years since Ive enjoyed watching Barca so much. Xaviball was dull as dishwater. Same for Koemanball and Valverdeball... All very cautious and defensive managers. Whereas Flick is more of an attack minded manager. He is all about taking risks, creating chances, scoring goals. His teams play entertaining football which is what Barca is all about.
Todays performance reminded me of his Bayern side. Swarming forward. Attack after attack. Great to see. When Flick won the CL/treble with Bayern they were unreal. Super on the attack. He looked like a top coach. However he flopped with Germany & his reputation took a hit. I was worried that his Bayern success was a flash in the pan but the way we're playing suggests otherwise. Its only 4 games but its very impressive. Especially with the injuries, finances and the fixtures.
Todays game was the kind of game under Xavi we'd have bored our way to a 1-0 or 2-0 win. It would have been a slog to watch. A struggle. Whereas under Flick there was loads of chances. 7-0 was kind to them. It was a great performance. Relentless attacking football.
This season is gonna be fun to watch. For the first time in years Im really lookin forward to our games. I missed that feeling!

Today we saw the fruits of what we missed so often under Xavi, especially last season: POSITIONAL INTERCHANGING. Now I'm all for structure, and we as Barca fans know very well that well-executed positional play can be some of the best if not the best football to watch. But under Xavi his system became far too rigid, players occupied spaces religiously, but hardly ever interchanged and combined with each other. Of course, I will temper my emotions as we've been a similar position before (early last season), but there's been good signs in our attacking game since the start of the season.

I think the work flick has done is incredible , given the board literally gave him nine of the signings he asked for , I would love to see him under normal ffp conditions where he could get some of the profiles he wanted , then we speak about injuries man has 4 starters out, and is still balling , still I think we have to be cautious cuz I remember in the last 2 seasons under Xavi and the beginning of those seasons we started by winning games by 4 or 5 goals then we dropped off and went back to seeing most of what we saw last season , so let’s wait and see
