Neighbor Rex needs to watch more TTWT videos, Vinnie and the power rake wouldn't be new to him. Great minds think alike! Tim's hooing Rex will get the rake and off he goes.
You can attach a cheep land rake on the back of the Ventrac if it has 3 point attachment. It is category 1. We had same problem as Tim when working on a field with native grass.
Big fan of the landscape rake but have found a landscape pulverizer is a step more aggressive without pulling as much topsoil when pulling vegetation off to the side for leveling with the power rake
I really wish they'd make a 78" model. It would be nice to have one that would work the entire width of a dual wheel tractor at an angle. I wouldn't care about having to work much slower... I'd rather get more done in a single pass, and have it cover the width of the tractor.
Where our laterals are is kinda like a rhythm section in a dirt bike track, up and down up and down. I don't want to really dig in, because I don't know how far down the pipes are. How should I go about smoothing that? I was thinking of just cutting the tops off of the highs with the box blade then filling that into the low spots.
that is essentially what we did here. I have used a tiller in the past. I'm not too concerned about it being THAT close to the surface. Once tilled, the soil is easier to move. See our episode "Leveling the playing field".
After using a power rake for hundreds of hours now I know that removing sod is not something they do well. They will do it if you dont want to bring another piece of equipment but they take awhile to get it done
Thanks! I’m still learning. I find the power rake to be the most flexible tool i’ve ever used. However, experience/skill is required to use it to its full potential. For that reason, I find it fun to use.
Good question! Best advice I have is to park it against a tree or something you can push against! Aaron can ‘wiggle’ his way into it without issue every single time! I have more issues. The other thing I do is hook up the hoses as soon as I’m close enough, then I can adjust the drum’s vertical height as necessary to position the connection brackets.
@@TractorTimewithTim Ah I hadn’t thought about hooking the hoses up to adjust the drum. This would let me fine tune the coupling angle so it isn’t pinched. Amazing idea! Thank you!
Wow, just when I thought the ventrax was kinda cool.... then I looked up the price. Wow. Does it come with a box of $100 Bill's? I dont see a $35,000 machine
Good to hear it’s expensive in the U.S.A. too. Usually in Australia we see stuff here that seems to be a lot cheaper in America. Justifying the price depends on its value. As they are a bit of a mountain goat that can operate safely on slopes plus is easier than a standard tractor. I hope for my enterprise this cost can be justified through a Ventrac allowing us to work safely and efficiently.
The Master of the Tiller/Grading on my favorite tractor the Ventrac with one of my favorite attachments the Power Rake! Perfect video and content!
Lookin' good after Vinnie smoothed out the septic field!
Good stuff and always good to help a neighbor!
Tim I don’t mind when things are delayed. I like to see grass when it nasty where I live!! Maybe your could save one or two video for the winter
glad to see the kittens
I'm in northern Illinois and have the same problem with my new septic field. Feel free to come on up!
Sounds like fun!

Like you said, the more you worked it, the better it got. When he cleared the loose sod off of the spot, it showed your work better.
So versatile and useful!!!!
I wish my neighbor had a Ventrac...... The kittens are growing........ Along with the views........
Hi Tim and Christy, you should do tug of war between Johnny and Vinny

Yes. Never thought of hooking up my landscape rake. Had no idea I would need it.
Great job enjoyed that!!!
Well at least the soil will have a little moisture in the spring.

Nice to see your mousers hard at having fun. 🤔🤔🤔

Tim you ever get the drainage in your yard taken care of
I worked on our drainage project this year
No, not really. We made some small improvements, but not enough.
Need to disc it just enough to cut the Sod 3-4” then box scrape it or grading blade the top off will be smooth and level.and way faster

@@TractorTimewithTim there is definatly a learning curve. Using is the best way to find out how to make it get the job done. Awesome video as usual!
Actually, using the scarifiers on the boxscraper would help to loosen the hard pack. But don't dig too deep.
How much do you like the ventrac
I would be interested in a video comparing the 1025r vs the ventrac
Marshall Williams 52 Me too, I love my Ventrac
I like the Ventrac but I don't know that I could ever justify the cost.
Lower Michigan they are expensive. I’m considering one for my orchard. Tossing up a Ventrac over a tractor or a more loader type machine.
You will love it
Do you have any tips or tricks on how to make the power rake easier to attach?

When can we see you on a big tractor like 8335R
My family has an 8335r. We might have some shots of me driving it...not sure.
@@TractorTimewithTim MANLY men driving MANLY machines ...... 😉👍👍🙏🧡
Any comment on Land O Lakes filing Chapter 11?
I believe this was 'Dean Foods', right? Not the same as Land O Lakes...but they make some of the Land O Lakes branded products.

You never guess who on isotunes.co.uk website over here
My wife is going to be mad at me for watching Vinny with out her. She says she’d love to have one.
Woo hoo
Try sand, check RUclips on applications
Please use a face mask. You will pay down the road breathing that grass dust & dirt???
