I was stationed in Germany for 3 years and I just loved the Christmas markets! During the week I would hang out at the one in Mannheim and go to the other towns on the weekend. There are so many and they are all unique. So much fun!
Oh such lovely memories
“If you don’t like German food…” if you’re at a Christmas Market in Germany and don’t like German food, you’re in the wrong country 🤣🤣There’s no way I’d have any other food. I miss Christmas in Germany.
Hahahaha! Love it! I always wondered, why there are so many vendors selling international food. And they are there year after year, so somebody is buying this food;) oh well, people must like different things ;)
Oh Marta, once again you've taken me down memory lane. The Christmas Market in the Hamburger Dom was a wonderland for me and my cousins in the early '50's, such wonderful sights, scents and taes. We have a German Christmas Market here which my grandchildren love but I know it's a pale shadow of what we had back then. Would you believe not one of them here is authenticily German, they're all franchises and none of them are German.
Oh sorry to hear that. But on the other hand I am glad that the grandchildren like it so much. Maybe I should get into organising such events abroad. That would be so much fun!
There is nothing as magical as Germany at Christmas. As a child, (my father was stationed at Baden-Baden) I loved the Black Forest markets...wish there were comparable seasonal traditions in North America!
German Christmas Foods, Tests very very very very very Excellent Actually, because when I lived in Wisconsin, the Most German Place in America 🇺🇸, they had a Christmas Market there, and it felt like you were in Germany 🇩🇪 for real, German Foods, and the German Pies 🥧 too😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
This sounds nice
I've been to the one in Nuremberg in the old city - it was wonderful. The rectangular
lebkuchen covered in chocolate .... WOW. I was amazed how the glühwein tasted differently in many of the small towns I visited -- all good. A local Lutheran High School in Concordia, Missouri had it's 3rd Christmas Market this weekend -- I was planning to go -- but was sick.
Oh John thats such a shame. Hope you will get better soon
Schones Weinachten to you and your family Marta!
Been Waiting for a video on your Christmas Market. We do have winter Markets here inspired after German Markets but warmer to watch your channel. 😉
Hahahahaha! Yes, you can watching it in your pyjamas Tim, I see ;)
My first experience of German Christmas Markets was in the 60s 😃 Fascinating time for a small kid and still a fan today 😀
Ohhh yes! We all have fun at christmas market. Thanks for watching Graham.
Thanks for sharing beautiful views
Great short history of the Christmas market. I love the hot wine and raclette
Oh yes Paul! I hope you already found your raclette in the basement. because thats the time to enjoy it ;)
thank you so much for this video, my dream is to visit a german christmas before i die , cheers
I am keeping my fingers crossed!
Someday I would love to visit Germany during the Christmas markets.
Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ a Christian religious celebration, veering away from this main purpose defeats the purpose of this important event. Pity.
My father was stationed in Germany for 4 years when I was younger. We really enjoyed the Christmas Markets and the German culture in general. We always talk about wanting to live there again!
how can a country that eates suasages and potatos and drinks beer 90% of the time have so many most beautiful women.
👍🔥🔥
Thank you 🙏
Love your Christmas markets such a joy with lots of choices to eat favourite food and beautiful things to buy.
So true!
We had one of these markets in Sparta, NJ. I've since moved out of state and I'll miss visiting these.
Oh I am sorry to hear that.
Do you know by chance why during the Nazi time Christmas markets were shut down?
Yes, because Nazis though that those are pagan winter celebration.
Так интересно
This looks and fun and the food looks amazing. This must be the best time of the year to be in Germany.
It is one of the best for sure. Although I would find other reasons to come also in spring, summer and autumn;)
Love the Aussie lilt to your English!
