Great vid , here in Uruguay 🇺🇾 the Swiss shooting society uses them, and I know a few people who shot them and told me they are superb match rifles . The level of beauty of this rifle with the diopter sights increases at a 100% I think . Cheers
Im swiss and im thinking abojt joining a shooting club (sorry if thats the wrong word non native self taught english speaker here the word is "schützen-verein") and am gonna by a fully customized k31 rifle cause you dont need a license to buy and own these you just gotta have them registered
Great shooting Remington,...and that you like this K31 shows that you've got good judgement too. This is one of my favorite military surplus rifles, mainly because of the accuracy we can get with it. Good video too Eric, Good job!
Love to see teenagers shoot, it makes me feel good because I'm a teenager myself and love guns ;P And yes please do more of these videos, it really sets a good example to other young shooters! Great job IV8888
TheOutdoorGuy I'm 19 now and I'm getting a k31. :) it's not my first rifle but my second one. Lol. First rifle is always an ar-15 or ak-47/74. I got an ar-15 to bad I live in NJ so a lot of restrictions but not for old military surplus.
Miguel Hernandez Well in Canada where I live, AK 47 rifles are prohibited by the RCMP and ARs are highly regulated, by requirements for registration and your only allowed to discharge them at a government syrtified shooting facility... We are allowed black rifles for shooting or hunting on private land, just not ars or Aks, but we are allowed vz 58, svt 40s for private shooting or hunting, just not aks. We are allowed handguns which I shoot most of the time but then again range only. Also we have 5 round limits for center-fire semi auto rifles or shotguns, 10 round for handguns, and unlimited for any rimfire rifle or manually operated rifle or shotgun . Stupid but one day it will change when we get a conservative prime minister
Honestly, it truly is. I honestly wish that they still made new rifles to this day because they really do replace the bolt action in a way. The Mauser 98 is the perfect bolt action just like how the Swiss K11/K31 is the perfect straight pull action, I honestly couldn’t ask for more.
Also I love to see a young man like Remington following rule #3 and keeping his booger hook out of the trigger guard until his sights are on the target and he has made the decision to fire the weapon. Great job with safety guys!
I've shot a k31 but with reproduction diopter sights and it's buy far the most accurate military rifle I've shot. I was shooting hand loads i made for him because 7.5 Swiss is impossible to get in Australia.
KIds living my dream. I participated in the youth high powered matches from 12-16 yr old. Was ranked 7th in the State of FL back in 92. It got too expensive and I kinda went in a bad direction for a little while.
Hey Eric, don't get upset because you were outshot by a teenager on his first try with one of your favorite rifles (LOL). Great video. Keep up the good work! Love the channel and you working with youth.
You've had Remington on before and, like the last time I'm very impressed with him. He seems like a genuinely good kid. Plus he shoots great. Also, that K31, I WANT ONE!!! That is one of the coolist rifles out there. Another great video guys, thanks.
I've been a subscriber for a long time, and have watch the majority of your vids, but this is easily my favourite. ... "Role model win" dude. Big thumbs up
I own an older model 1911 Schmidt-Rubin rifle. The 7.5 Swiss round invented by Col. Eduard Rubin is an excellent round. Rubin was the inventor of the full metal jacketed bullet. This superb straight-pull bolt action rifle and the 7.6 round were great accomplishments for a small nation such as Switzerland.
K31 is awesome. You and Remington are shooting straight but in this video the rifle appears bowed is it the stock or maybe just an optical illusion with the camera?
It's great to see teens get into shooting. We need to pass it on. My son is into almost as big as I am. The Swiss K 31 is an excellent rifle. Love mine. It appears yours has the beech wood. I have one with a beech stock. Great rifles.
Love you guys you first people I check with before I buy a gun plus you guys got me in restoring old guns just got my first martini henry 350$ untouched
Keep up with the Young Guns type videos!! We need more to get the younger generations involved! So that even when mom & dad aren't pro gun they can have somewhere to go to to learn and learn the CORRECT way! If not, they will learn the wrong way from friends, television and movies! I would like to see a full channel devoted to the youth shooters! Maybe IV8888 could start a sister channel hosted by Remington!
Although a very precise gun, many shooters report flyers when the gun gets hot and the wood starts to work. Modern sniper style or hunting aftermarket stocks are an option. One thing to consider though is, that in 1946 beginning with the serial number 868901, the stock material was changed from walnut to beech. Walnut of course beeing the one with less flexing of the wood. So if you want to keep it original, look for that.
Love watching ya'll shooting, really like the 7.5 Swiss, I have one, But I don't think I would have been shooting during that thunderstorm, especially that close to the trees!!! good way to end your shooting days!!!!!
Impressive shooting from this young man, well done. It's nice to see younger generation handle guns like this. Meanwhile in our country young men are on their period whining about girly stuff and discussing make-up tips with teenage girls... Oh how the world has changed :P
As you are so intrested in swiss rifles, there is a website, where you can lookup the serial numbers and tech details of all swiss K31, IG11, K11 and so on - www.swisswaffen.com/ enjoy
I'm also a proud owner of the K-31 and enjoy target shooting at 300 yards with my handloads. Love to find an area where I could farther than 300 yards.
What about doing a young shooter orientated video? About what it's like to be a young shooter. Great video, actually really enjoyed watching Remington in this
I was happy to see, my last time at the range, a guy with his two pre-teen daughters, armed with pink and purple singe shot .22s. This is not uncommon where I live.
A nice ambiance thunder and a beautiful shot area, the K31 and Gp11 excellent duo, although the weapon Reset is made personal to everyone, the K31 can also use another shooter to zeroin the same. Even ammunition is personal. Not everyone can perform the same every amunition, very accuratly Just iron sight, but with diopter sight bein very very accuratly, this gun is uniqe, K31 and gp11 married once upon a time switzerland 🤫 nice shoots all, thank you vids 👍
Eric, I'm no one special; but I'd love to come down to your range and do some fun long range shooting. I'm willing to fly, drive or whatever. I'm 32, and been shooting since I could stand. I hope you see this comment. I wish I knew I way to get ahold of you more personally
those rifles where designed with having some fore end tension on the first barrel band. basicly a shooter using the sling as a shooting sling accomplishes that
Buy it anywhere you can find it. Supplies have dried up, and the few cases left cost twice what they did two years ago. Check Classic Firearms, AIM Surplus, Sarco, SAMCO, GunBroker, etc. I tracked some down in Florida and had a buddy buy the whole lot. Its the bullet design that makes it unique. Can't find those bullets, so I can't load my own.
As long as i watched these vids i have always wondered if these rifles and others can be wielded as good if ur left handed ? I could use my right side to an extend but i feel like my left side is better for me..
1113stve the rifle is getting expensive in 10 years the price has gotten from $99 to +$500. I'm buying one before it becomes like the M1. The sights are about +$400 which is pretty expensive but you got to understand they made half a million rifles and from those how much had special sights or scopes. Not much. If you want the scoped k31 (it's different from these sights) it's +$2000 easy.
Joel Thorsén sorry but I like k-31s a lot so I'll continue to buy them. I blame the Swiss for making a hell of a rifle. Right now I'm broke but once I have so money again I might buy another k-31 or get a k-11. K-11s are favored more and are rarer but extra parts and extra magazines for the k-11 are are so expensive. I love the history of the swiss straight pulls. Also I'm not fat nor dumb, only thing you got right was the American part. Edit: The US will have a company around 2018 that will make parts to keep these rifles alive.
chzzyg269 Only place I found them was online on private sale websites and forums sometimes they get imported but that's rare now. Most people who want to sell firearms online want to do it face to face but you can get lucky sometimes when someone wants to really sell their firearms so they will ship it by FFL. I live in NJ and got mine for Utah. Also a tip when buying online by private sale be very careful who you trust and try to get the most pictures you can of the rifle. A lot of scammer on the web.
Good to see a plug for the CMP's vintage rifle matches. The K31 is used for more gold medals than any other vintage rifle in the category. Unfortunately the diopter match sights are not legal in CMP vintage rifle. With all the other advantages of accuracy, trigger, speed of the straight pull, and box magazine, the standard sights don't hold it back at all.
Got to shoot my K31 for the first time Sunday, the shoulder message is real. Also near sighted eyes with tangent sights isn't fun, need to find some money's for diopters.
Have you mounted it yourself? If not it should be pretty much zeroed on 300m with standard issue GP11. Then just fine tune it with the adjustment knobs on range. 1 click is 1/4 MOA

And have you shot before?
Bastiaan Leenheer Yes I have, and I do on a regular basis with my father's deer rifle in 30-30
Nice. I shoot air rifle at 10 meters, standing. It's the only branch of shooting (along with 10m pistol) that is practiced nearby.

Remington.
What a great name
I put 5 rounds almost in the same goddamn hole at 100 yards with mine. I was speechless. It's the most stupidly accurate weapon I've ever fired.
ofc... swiss made. What u expect?!

I love my diopters on my K31 - brings the group size waaaay down.
Solid young man, I'm sure his dad is proud
With a name like Remington, I'm sure he approves.
If you are looking for an absurdly accurate surplus rifle, not much can beat a K31. There is a reason they are still very popular for target shooting.
DAMN - what a shooter. I am totally blown away but this young shooter's skills
That thunder + k31 report was magical
I would love to see that accurising of the K31 video! Please do it soon!
just put swiss diopters on my k31. looking forward to seeing how it does. sight picture is awesome
Yes, please do the accurizing video for the K31, would love to see your tips!
Eric, if you want a diopter I can send you one from switzerland, you want the standard W+F one ? With a ring or a post in front?
K31 is awesome. You and Remington are shooting straight but in this video the rifle appears bowed is it the stock or maybe just an optical illusion with the camera?
Symmetry Tanner lol it's the stock shape it tapers
the stock is thicker on the top and slowly tapers down a touch (gets thinner) until the first barrel band. its how they all pretty much are
Yeah I know right? But yeah it is just the frame of the rifle
I had something I needed to do but could not stop watching this awesome video, entertaining and informative, thanks.......

My friend Garth always told me that thunder rolls.
Shooting in a thunderstorm is soo metal
Most WW2 vets were 17 to 19 years old when they served. My dad was 18, in 1944, when he went to bootcamp.
I need that sighting system on my K31!
I admittedly have gotten into milsurp because Eric. He is my hero
Love watching ya'll shooting, really like the 7.5 Swiss, I have one, But I don't think I would have been shooting during that thunderstorm, especially that close to the trees!!! good way to end your shooting days!!!!!

i have a 1946 k31 with the original diopters, it's a beatiful gun and very cheap for the accuracy it gets
btw i'm a europian teenager too

Excellent shooting young man
Put tension on the sling, it will put some tension on the barrel that way.
So pretty much try shooting it prone, and use the sling as shooting sling.
glock17games it's on a rest.. don't worry about the sling
those rifles where designed with having some fore end tension on the first barrel band. basicly a shooter using the sling as a shooting sling accomplishes that
Never has so much GP11 been wasted by a grown ass man LOL
Tough yong man, shooting K31 in a t-shirt! Nice video. Greetings from Switzerland
Eric Where should I buy my GP11?
Buy it anywhere you can find it. Supplies have dried up, and the few cases left cost twice what they did two years ago. Have you done video on what to look for when buying a Swiss K31?
Those diopters are expensive as hell, man. More often than not they cost more than the rifle
1113stve the rifle is getting expensive in 10 years the price has gotten from $99 to +$500. I'm buying one before it becomes like the M1. Never convert the K31 into a "free floating barreled" rifle.
This is a better alternative: hubertec.wazala.com/products/k31-sniper-chassis/
A K31. On my bucket list of owning. Rather get one over a AR
Can you shoot a sig sauer 200 str 6.5x55 rifel?
I love my K31, but I only put 5-10 rounds through it per range trip, since ammo is so expensive. I would love a K31 accurizing video.
What are the diopter sights worth if you could get them today?
Nice rifle.
Greetings from Switzerland.
Man I'd love to be able to shoot my k31 in my backyard like you guys do!
He was waiting for the thunder to place his shots lol
Can you use rifles with upgraded sights like that in vintage rifle matches?
