I have 6 kids ages 16,13,10,8,7,6 I started love & logic a year ago and for my family it works and I'm so glad my husband and I use it..you have too stay consistent with your children using this program. You can make up your own empathy words to fit your parenting style. I also charge money for bad behavior. What my kids don't know though is I keep the money they pay me in a piggy bank for what were saving too do something as a family wi

I think you can alter it for your own purposes- I say that they've made me tired or sad... It's probably better for younger kids- cos it's a playful type of thing.

@owensark I'm not sure, but when he would start throwing a fit, I think you would then do the 'oh oh' song and gently take him to his room until he's 'sweet'. Hope that helps : )

I've been trying these techniques with my 3 boys, ages 4, 4, and 6, and when I do this, energy drain, at first they were all for it. Then, it wans't fun anymore, and my one son who is 4, THROWS A FIT. Throwing things, SCREAMING at the top of his lungs, etc. I try to ignore it and leave him there, but I'm afraid he'll break something! He's VERY STUBBORN!! Any ideas on what to do with full blown tantrums???

Bedroom time. From the love and logic book, you use a sing-song "uh-oh" and say "uh-oh, it looks like a little bedroom time." Lead him to the room for bedroom time until he's ready to be sweet. Works great for my child.
