    A marvelous tree in exquisite condition indeed. I was slightly surprised by the height of the pot.

    Nice job. I like that trick with the two chopsticks being used to stabilise the tree. All the best. Craig

    A very elegant maple! Nicely done! We do our repots very similar! I let the buds swell and elongate before I repot mine, more so on older trees. Keep up the great work! Love your video's :-)

    Hey Momiji! What soil blend did you use in the Andersen flat to rejuvenate the tree? 70% perlite and 30% coco?

    Looking great! Do you have a recommendation for where to get pumice and akadama near Seattle eastside, or is that better ordered online?

    • @MomijiEn
      @MomijiEn  Год назад +1

      Thank you! You can get Akadama and pumice from Bonsai Northwest as long as they have those in stock (Maple Valley). You can get pumice from indoor sun shoppe in Seattle too.

    Great video, thanks for sharing. At 20:12 in the video you mention using 'grinded' sphagnum moss, is the moss just shredded or actually put in a grinder please? Something I've not tried so far.

    • @MomijiEn
      @MomijiEn  Год назад +1

      Thank you! Yes more like shredded using a sifter :)

    Why not put soil on top instead of Pumice 😊

    What is your opinion on the much proclaimed “maples grown by layer or cutting don’t age well and are overtly prone to disease” line that I always hear? Your RUclips seems to disprove that

    • @MomijiEn
      @MomijiEn  Год назад +1

      Bases on my experience, trees grown by layer grow really well as long as you are providing good soil, water, fertilizers and environment. Cuttings do tend to grow slowly till they establish good roots but I never experienced that ther are overly prone to disease compared to grafted ones or seedlings personally.

      after growing the kotohime cultivar, which is propagated from cuttings, for awhile now i can say cuttings definitely get stronger as they develop a better root system, and i haven't experienced any susceptibility to disease or bug attacks. this is actually one of the strongest species on my tables. my original purchased cutting grew massive in four years without cutback in a nursery container.
