This is the first of your videos I've ever watched. I love the way you questioned the packaging and challenged your viewers to think about the NEED behind a purchase like this. Putting up the value of the things you aren't going to use and subtracting them from the perceived "savings" is very responsible as an influencer. You're also very funny and relatable - you def have a new fan! 💖
OMG, Kathryn. Thank you so much. It's been bothering me the way makeup companies, big and small, have been pumping out the "new releases" lately. I feel that this consumerism mentality has been egged on my content creators who want the views so they rush to be the first to post about the latest cosmetic offerings and then never talk about them again. I have over 100 eyeshadow palettes. 100! No one needs that much makeup. I know professional MUAs who don't have that much makeup! It's so easy to get caught up in the hoopla and FOMO that we've forgotten why we bought what we bought in the first place. As I said, I was lucky enough to get two previous PLouise Calendars as gifts in the past and as grateful as I was to get them, I never knew what their real worth was to me. Well, now I do. I'm definitely starting 2025 with a "no buy". I need/want to use the makeup I have. I love it but I'm not using it. Well, no more! LOL Thanks so much for tuning in. I really appreciate it. MWAH xox
As a little kid I would have fought off 6th grade bully's for a pink cardboard train to play with. Donate it to Toys for tots.... after loading it with cheap art supplies.... Making me want to buy one!!!
@@TheWilmaFingerdooReview doing well darling. Taking care of Mom, cooking her dinners, enjoying the country...the lake has been full of swans and there were 17 turkeys in the backyard a few days ago. I'm knitting a sweater and crocheting a scarf.... and about $200 worth of new yarn should arrive tomorrow... Tee hee. Gee, just finished the first episode of CDR5. Seems they shook the trees for a handful of fab gals and a whole lot of mediocre filler.
Thanks Marissa! It is an awesome kit. I'll also admit, there's more than a couple of things I'm exciting to try because I would never have bought them in the first place. I'll try to do a video in a couple of months to talk about what, if anything, I'm still using! Lord knows I'm still using some of the products from last year's advent calendar.
Oh, trust and believe, I will, Emy. I'm also going to do a follow up on how many of the products I'm still using or are useful in my drag looks. Lord knows I won't need to buy any new makeup for quite a while after this. LOL xox
I'm 65 and I've just bought this. For me. I haven't worn make-up in who knows how long and of all the beauty advent calendars reviewed thjis winter, this one looked like a winner. Not only have you got enough stuff for a full-face look but there are a zillion colours to play with to mix and match and, well, just play! I'm really looking forward to opening everything and trying new things. And, yes, some items seem a little childish but they all seem sweet and I've younger folk in my family to pass items like this to. Thanks for your review and seasons greetings from my side of the Pond.
Well done, Alix. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. And if you have younger people in your circle, none of it will go to waste for sure! Happy Holidays! MWAH xox
I'm going to make some inquiries. Last year the calendar came in a 3 section house. It was gorgeous. Luckily a friend's daughter was more than happy to make it her own. LOL xox
Wow much better then last year I think ...lots of goodies to play with! I am a sucker for a coral blush or clothes too. one of those colours that only come around every few years. I know so many kids that would love the train.
If it weren't for my wigs sticking to it, I would totally wear more lip gloss. Some glosses are so stunning. Beauty Moon released a gorgeous collection of sparkly glosses this year that are a must see for sure! xox
Right, Eric? In this case, the packaging that help keep the train whole and unmarked were necessary but I would have really loved an option that didn't involve the train in the first place. Who has the room for things like that? Seriously. LOL xox
Also, you know how Glamlite do their products with the PR box and products without the PR box? They should do that for PLouise- have the option to go with the big packaging if you want that or more simplistic packaging
I totally agree. Especially for us international shoppers. $200 more dollars just to get it to my house? The UK portion was only $73 CAD. And they used a PLANE!!!!!! Gawd I hate Canada Post!
I'm a fan of yours 🤩 Great video. I have the Boots No7 advent calendar this year. Love it so far 😍 Haven't tried PLouise but know some younger ladies who will use nothing else. Happy Holidays x
Thanks so much Catherine! I do like PLouise as a brand but the company is starting to court a younger buying audience and their newer products reflect that and not in a good way. I've been slowly going off PLouise over the this last year because of it but I'll always love their brushes! Seriously. xox
Well minus all the shipping and whatever Canada is doing to it's mail. This was a nice calender. Probley the only one I've seen that actually seems like you get what you paid for and then a little. And generally some really good products.
I’m super duper pale, so it’s nice to see how much variety the calendar has for shades. Someone with pale skin or a deeper skin tone has a much better chance of being able to use these products, compared to a lot of other beauty calendars.
Right? The think that has been great about PLouise is that she's an MUA herself. When she started the company it was with MUAs in mind. Over the years she's started to cater to the public and I feel some of her products and packaging have gotten cheapish or gimmicky. Which is okay. I don't need to buy anything else from them. At least not till next year. LOL xox
I have been waiting for someone to do an unboxing of this and I can't believe it's my favorite Wilma Fingerdoo!!! I really think you got your money's worth out of that one! But I can't believe how pricey it was!
I saw one. I don't use perfume so that calendar is definitely not for me. Now, the British Vogue calendar... It's not that the contents intrigue me. I don't even remember what was in it. But the calendar itself is a stunner!
I watched someone else unbox this calendar and they didn’t see those other shades in the pallet in box 5. When you turned it I was so surprised. I’m wondering how many others missed that
I would definitely try one of their mystery boxes, Jann. They tease their contents now so there's less risk. I would lose my mind if they ever run out of their Rumours eyeshadow base! Seriously.
I do Warwick. Are you kind for asking. To be honest, this list is more of a list of stuff I want to get as opposed to things I want to be gifted so there's not much on it and it's a pretty boring list. LOL But for what it's worth, here you go: www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/1HFWHBJVF1ZB3/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_1
Oh no. I was so lucky mine came the day before they went on strike. I'll send positive thoughts your way that it arrives as quickly as possible. Or that the strike is over soon. MWAH xox

I agree, Martha. Although I did get a lot of use out of last year's calendar, this one seems to have more "useable" products for me. Very pleased.
I’m 31, and lip gloss is one of my favorite things in my makeup routine. I used to HATE it, but now I am obsessed. 😂
