  • In this video I'll show you how I made this little Mines of Moria Book Nook from The Lord of The Rings. I've once again borrowed a great technique from ‪@Boylei‬ so a big thank you for that! I've also used miniatures from GW in this build that were a pleasure to paint and some awesome dry brushes from Artify that you can check out here: amzn.to/3yBDJlZ
I used a variety of products on this build. Including paints from Vallejo and enamel washes from AK interactive.
Here's a list of products I used in this build!

    STL files for 3D prints!
    Gollum: www.thingivers...
    Weapons: cults3d.com/:1...
    Skeletons: www.printables...
Here's a list of my hobby tools and supplies!

You may be late to the Book Nook party but you really made a stunning one, and the additional LED in the wall really did make a big difference, fantastic job.

Looks fantastic 👍 Nice work. When I read the book some of the parts of Moria always came across as scarily claustrophobic. Think you’ve captured that brilliantly.

Thank you! I'm glad you think so :) I thought it would make the perfect setting for a Book Nook 👍

@Crazy.Crafting.Couple, yes! Such boxes are relatively easy to find at dollar stores.
      Brilliant idea.

The depth effect brings to mind the diorama titled 'Final Stand in the Mines of Moria' from Boylei Hobby Time.

    Nicely done dude!
I've been toying with the idea of doing a Warhammer book nook for months, just can't decide on the scene or whether to do 40K or AoS, just too much choice, lol

@Bunyip_Studios, a dart board or a spinning wheel with the various options?
Quinn of @BlondieHacks just built such a spinning wheel. Mind you, it may be more than you need.

Whoa, that steel wool and vinegar method is seriously og! Great build, and love the little gollum. "He must have picked up our trail in Moria" is, if I recall correctly, the relevant quote.

I've used the tea before, but that tannin effect on the wood from the steel wool vinegar and mix is something else. Perfect shade of a "patina" for this piece.
