  • Razor Clams Are found all around the UK coast and are frequently washed ashore in bad weather. These clams live deep in the sand and are a great bait for fish species that predominantly feed over sandy bottoms.
    These shop bought Razor Clams are difficult to present on the hook because after they defrost the become very snotty and limp.
    In this video I show you how to quickly and easily toughen these Clams so the can be used on a rig as either the main bait or for tipping off worm baits.

    Afternoon have you had any issues or noticed a difference regarding using the morrisons table salt as read a previous comment about iodized salt puts fish off and non iodized salt being the better?

    • @gsp
      @gsp  Год назад

      I've caught fish with the iodized salt but never tried without so I have no comparison

    Hi greg cheers for that . Ive done my leftover lug and rag before but hadn't thought of that one. Sometimes greg iff you go late at night sometimes you get them on offer iff the dates ran out. I got 2 packs of sardines for 70 80 pence. There was about 12 so was a good result. Look forward to your next film. All the best from grey and gloomy grimsby. P.S. have you seen the sun because up here in G.Y its been missing for about 10 days.

    SHRINKFLATION ALERT! Morrisons still do the 3 packs for a tenner, but the packs are now 400g now instead of 500g

      🤦 and then it'll be 3 for £12 and so on. At least it's a bait source that's easily accessible 👍

    Can I just add that Iodized salt is fortified with iodine. I've heard the taste puts the fish off.
    I alway use non-iodized salt for bait.

    Try leaving out side for a week or two in a mesh bag before salting much better. You want or just freeze 🥶 them down😜

    Hi, enjoyed the vid - thanks. In Spain I use them in the shell for Dorada (Gilthead Bream) and Sargo (Black Bream I think). We put a little bit of foam on the hook to float the tail with the head on the seabed. Great bait.

    Nice one 👍🏻. As you say razor on its day is one of the best baits out there, had it out fish all other baits numerous times before. Do you find doing this process - Salt vs fresh - affects its performance at all?

    • @gsp
      @gsp  3 года назад +1

      No not at all, i find its just as good but it last so much longer on the hook👍
