- The pre-season is over, but now comes an interesting couple of days for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Mike DeStefano and David Morassutti give their thoughts on the Leafs' performance in their final pre-season game and a couple of defencemen who may have played into the conversation to make the team. Mike and Dave move on to look at the Leafs' decision to place Matt Murray and Marshall Rifai on waivers, whether they expect them to clear. To end the show, Mike and Dave discuss the final roster decisions the team has to make before the deadline, whether Timothy Liljegren could be on the move and how to navigate the crowded forward group.

Lilly had 17 pts in 21 games when Reilly was out and has some of the top +/- for all leafs defenders. Hopefully he finds his stride somewhere and would not be surprised if he turns into a Stralman/Forsling. The leafs should atleast have given him opportunity on parts of the game he excels at, like the PP or o-zone starts, instead we had Mccabe starting 3-3 OT and PP2.

How is he solid? He’s soft, makes too many mistakes and no one knows what he does out there but absorbs punishing hits, 3 million a season for a dud. Waiver him already or if anyone wants him trade him for anything. This Guy has done nothing his whole time with this team, always thought they should have kept Sandin and trade Timothy instead. Brad pulled a Dubas by signing this stiff to 3 million, he’s probably worth 775,000.
