OMG! Thank you so much! I have put 4 x 8' brick panels up and want to do the faux tin panels in the bath ....by myself.......the paint roller is brilliant.....thanks so much for posting!
Dale Little, thank you! You're a very helpful fella. Thinking of others is not something some are born with, AEB, the 4 down votes. Those people, scourges, of the earth 😉 The rest of us, appreciate you greatly, for taking the time, to try and help ❤️ God bless you & your wife, sir.
Obviously you don't know what you are talking about if you think I know what I am doing, lol. This was the first time I ever put any panels like this up, so I just watched the glue manufacturers suggestions as well as others who had worked with these panels as to how much glue to use, and as I went along, ended up using what seemed to work good for me. So you could be right. Thanks for the input from Maui. I am now far from where this video was made in the foothills of the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains. I am now in Romania for the past 2 and a half years and may be here for another 2-3 years. When I made this video, I thought maybe a dozen people would see it and get some ideas from it.
Our wood fireplace has discoloured our ceiling, and I want to put just a few of these over the discoloured area over fireplace as a feature/camouflage .
I found it easier to take all the molding down Donna, with the exception of the molding around a stairway. That was after it appeared that I was not going to get it down in one piece, and I was able to get a nice fit, then put a thin line of caulking along the edge.
Great idea but it looks to me as if you would have used a larger palette board (40 inches by maybe 20 inches) it would be a lot easier to line up adjoining edges. Then again a helper would be a godsend . . .
Yes, you are right, and I probably should have pointed that out. This was a case of just using what I had at hand, and my wife did help me on some of it I had just turned 71, and my wife was 69 and after a little trial and error I determined the best chance to celebrate another wedding anniversary was to just have her to catch the board for me and pass the roller up to me, lol.
I used the Loctite which comes in a tube like caulking. I don't remember exactly which one because I think they may have a few different ones now. It was not the strongest hold Loctite makes...maybe in the middle, but a building supply should be able to recommend. The Loctite held good, but it is a bit thick and a bit hard to squeeze out. Not so bad at first, but pretty noticeable after squeezing out a few tubes.
Beautiful job!!! Thanks for sharing!! Great explanation. Thanks for the easy tips. Awesome job.

Obviously you know what you're doing. I'd have more adhesive on myself than the panels. Aloha and mahalo from Maui

@@1947DML // you have us lots of great ideas. Have fun in Romania.
Good job, we mature folks can do things on our own, with a little imangination.

Looks GREAT. Did you have to take the molding down around the corners or does it got nicely?

@@1947DML // thank you Dale. I'm dealing with a similar situation right now.

Nice video how did it hold up ?
We sold the house and moved to Romania to do mission work not long after installing. I have not received any negative words though.
