Damn, I learned so much about a play I already appreciated, and just the first song. What a genius. I'm sorry he's gone but so grateful for what he left us all.
earlier this month i played little red in my school’s production of into the woods, and i think the part i miss the most about it is the music. there’s so much depth to it, and something about hearing sondheim himself explaining it to me is really touching
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we had Shakespeare on film discussing his course of action??
What a brilliantly intellectual mind. I've been listening to his tunes for a decade, appreciating the 'effortless' flow - but the amount of thought and planning that goes into his work is astounding. Thank you, Stephen.
Fantastic. Such a teacher. Such an artist. Shakespearian stature.
Just the sweetest man 💝
Hi! Writing a paper on Sondheim. This is so useful! Wondering where the clip is originally from? Thanks!
