I can't find a kit on your website. I've got the white with black... So I need the white with blue. F601. I emailed you guys 👌👌. Thanks for the great video!
If the tolerance ring was not placed back on, can it cause an unusual noise? As if the bearing went out but they have both been newly replaced. Sadly the tolerance ring slowly turned to pieces. Great videos by the way! Clean and simple instructions is on point! Please help, can’t seem to find anything online about it. Thank you!
The tolerance ring is a very important component. That's why our kits always include the ring. Without it, the rear housing would be destroyed. And I never tried it, but yes, it probably would make a lot of noise.
Mike Lauer thank you sir and sorry for late reply. And well to let you know I ran it for about 2 weeks with an unbearable squeal that ended up turning to a rattle, found out one of my idler pulley bearings was shot. Replaced bearing on idler and put a new OEM alternator on my cobra and the sweet crisp silence was back.. now only thing is my battery light flickers n stays on after I say a good 25 minutes of running, I then hit the highway and look down at the dash to see it vanish, to later come back on again all in one drive haha I’m losing it
New rotors are needed for 4G and GM's 130D series alt's. But for the 6G : If rebuilders are routinely successful replacing slip rings, and the rotor has a good life expectancy, the best cost effective operation is to replace the slip ring, not the whole rotor. Our goal is to show you how to save as much money as possible, and still get a good, reliable product. alternatorstarterrebuildkits.com/about-us/
60/40 rosin core. We recommend Kester with lead. It's not expensive like the silver and has been an experienced rebuilder go to for decades. Some newbe rebuilders say you need silver. Of course, it's better, but we show you the cheapest, easiest methods. For more soldering education, visit our sister site starterrebuildkits.com.
Hi Mike Having problems with my 06 Mustang GT Battery light coming on about 2 minutes after start up, Check Charging System also illuminated The voltage gauge appears normal and getting 13.6v at battery whilst running Removed pigtail and am getting 12v at battery end and 8.4v at ign wire Is this normal Also alternator is getting hot to touch after several minutes running Have just ordered a rebuild kit from you
Automotive regulators not engineered for glass mat batteries OR lead acid battery needs deep slow charge or is bad. If not these things then kit should fix if computer is ok.
Very thorough video. At ruclips.net/video/iGIdnOwHZUM/видео.html, it is stated that a rebuild kit comes with a new rotor with a slip ring on it. The kit I am looking at, 6G8316GGAV, seems to have slip ring included but not a rotor. Is there a reason for this?
We figured out a way to easily replace your slip ring on the 6g kits. Which helped reduce the end users cost dramatically. We could see an already soldered on slip ring with a rotor for an additional $40.00. You can email us the request if that is the option you prefer. We added 2 how to videos and in the second one you can see how to repace the slip ring.
hello i have the same ford alternator and i recently scanned 2007 ford explorer Eddie Bauer and the scan said that alternator was sending 10 volts instead 14 volts what i should change regulator or direct fire thanks a lot for your help
Awesome I need to rebuild an alternator for my 2011 Ford Ranger xlt 2.3L 2wd truck. Do you have a rebuilt kit for it and do you have a video for the same alternator?
Motorcraft doesn't make regulators anymore. We have seen the inside of thousands of dealer purchased alternators with aftermarket regulators. SVT may have the 2.3L which Ford outsourced to India and we don't support at home rebuild for that model.
Older Toyota starters, yes. But not everything can be successfully rebuilt at home. Some require specialized tools, experience, and parts availability. Also, the cost of clutch pulleys can cause non cost-effectiveness for at home rebuilds. However, we will continue to look into it.
For any future users, there are strap wrenches that should get a good purchase on the pulley, then just back the nut off with a standard socket. He's using the impact to be able to loosen the nut with just hand pressure on the pulley. There are "hand" impact wrenches too, but probably pretty hard to use on this without a helper (spring loaded things what you strike with a hammer on the back.
Dude, that was epic. You have a new subscriber and a future customer. Thanks for the schooling session. JAH
you did a very good job with this video thanks

I re-grease the sealed bearings before install them so they will last a lifetime and never again be an issue

what solder should be used?
wondering why new rotor replacement not shown

What type of soldering lead you use it is 60/40 or it is brazing soldering lead for soldering the alternator, thanks

mike Lauer I broke the plastic on the rotor where the rectifier solders to how can I repair that?
You would have to buy a reconditioned rotor. We can send a specialized invoice to you.

Can the stator be cleaned with brake parts cleaner, or is that too harsh?
No, I use mineral spirits or electric motor cleaner.
Too harsh. Electric motor cleaner is usually available at parts suppliers. We use Dawn and water.

Thank you. So. Much., Mike. For. Sharing. Yours. Good. Alternator. Repairs.
Mike Where. Did you buy Alternator. Repair. Kit. And. Any. Other. Alternator. Parts. .?
at 17.52 the bearing is not there....you don't show how to take it off
Look at 14.17 it shows how
Thank you !

To properly rebuild the alternator. It is recommended to use all the parts that come in our kit. This will allow it to meet or exceed factory specs.
This is pretty cool I’m just going to build it myself.

my svt focus is charging at 13.3 volts no light im thinking of ordering your kit but are your regulators motorcraft or other brands thanks

can I just send you my alternator for the rebuild? Thru your web site? thanks! great video!
We would have to charge for shipping and our normal rebuild price.
