@@IvyRoad I agree with you! That's a great thing to keep in mind, thank you :) I have a long knitted top, but I don't know how to style it elegantly. Do you happen to have one more advice by any chance?

Switching off after 10 mins each to their own I guess I wouldn’t wear that lilac knit she has on but I don’t look down on her like she appears to do to others in some of her examples! Bloody rude!!!!
It really depends on the area you are from that affects your style. For example, in the southern part of the US it is VERY hot during the spring, summer, and fall (especially the summer). That's why, if you go there during this time of the year, you will see a lot of people wearing not very "fashionable" clothing. We are literally MELTING from the heat! We tend to lean towards your basic styles, because they tend to be cooler and easier to wear in sweltering temperatures.
I don’t think any clothes can make a person can look elegant. Either you are or you’re not. It’s a soul thing. It comes from inside. Try to match your wardrobe to your personality instead or it will look off. If you’re the girl next door be that a 100% wear jeans and a t-shirt you will be authentic and you will be respected.
I guess her content is not for everyone. It is for people who need to look polished in their workplace or what is more controversial the ladies who want to attract 'affluent men'. It does not suit my lifestyle either, I love and will wear a lot of the things mentioned in the video but dress elegant when I need to (which for now is rather rare). I pop in here from time to time but I really dislike how she mispronounces some words lmao.
@@anetabrlikova8454 it depends what each person thinks is elegant… your dress in your picture would not pass elegant for me. Also Anna’s clothes, for instance I don’t fancy jumper she is wearing in this video. So to say what is elegant and what is not is not that clear cut. For sure, too revealing clothes are not elegant for me, nor are too flashy, like big brands, visible logos.. So to each their own, even when it comes to elegance.
@@adk5997 Of course, I knew someone is going to comment my profile picture with something bitter hahaha. I only said, that right clothes can make you elegant. 😏 Read again what I said, if you still don't get it. I did not say : " I think I look elegant in my profile picture"( Although, I think I look great there, ;)) Please, do not misinterpreted my comments. Have a great day!
I just tested out one of Anna's thoughts about pinterest, and sure enough when I looked up fall fashion 2022 I got the skinny jeans and booties, the big scarves, the monster boots, the plaid, the oversized coats and sweaters etc.. these super tired looks have been around for over half a decade! So boring and cheap looking! Anna is so right!
Reminder : don't compare yourself with others, each of us have our own time on our own phase. We will achieve great things too, but first we have to accept that we're unique in our own way and most importantly we should stop comparing ourselves because it just slows down our process and stops us from really fulfilling our own true potential. Let's keep working hard and take a break too! ✨🦋
Beautiful comment and reminder to celebrate where we are at and embrace out past, present and future as best we can so we can look back three years from now with tears of joy, not regret! 🌞💕
Anna actually says what our mothers used to tell us all the time, I think these advices are universal across time, culture, religion and race. My Asian Indian mom wouldn't approve of all that she doesn't approve of as well! I used to hate her advice, accuse her that she is making me look like grandma. But I think she only was making me look graceful and I was trying to pull off signature looks which was at the end making me look uncultured!
Yes. And it's tricky because we want, when we're young to strike out on our own and be supported while still be given distance and if there's any trauma then that throws off everything.
I’ve resisted this channel for so long and now I’m binging videos. None of the content is disrespectful at all and I am really learning a lot. These fashion tips truly are spot on.
“A woman with class is timeless.” Anna, your videos always bring a smile to my face and it feels like you always bring something I was waiting for. Thank you! ❤️
I haven't seen those hideous teddy coats in New Zealand, thank goodness. They look to be made from synthetic fabric which doesn't tick the sustainability box.
@@fashionandluxury101 It also depends where you live. If you live in a large city, those clothes would look out of place but are perfectly fine in the country or in a small town. Cargo jacket is good for hiking so you can keep your hands free but bring little things you will need.
You’re going to look fine, and those clothes make you happy, I think most things she says are ridiculous…she forgets we wanna be comfy and happy even if we’re not Elegant or on trend…..
@@artwithmamafairybreadd You seem to be on the wrong channel, dear. This is for women who want to be elegant and upgrade their lifestyles. You might prefer the prepper and survivalist channels.
I bought a ivory color teddy coat from aritzia and I got it tailored and now I’m obsessed with it. I didn’t want to get rid of the coat because it was boxy because it’s so practical for winter weather in New Jersey.
She is completely wrong on the Teddy coat!!! I've had my Max Mara since 2014. It's alpaca and silk. So warm. Indestructible! It's an icon! That's why it's been a staple of the house since 2013. Shearling dominated the runway this fall. Coats shoes and bags.
Living in a warmer climate, where we have a warm or hot Fall season, we do not wear many of the cold weather items. It's a "one season" climate -- warm and humid most of the year. But, if you're traveling or visiting a cooler Fall climate, I wholeheartedly agree with the tips given by Anna.
@@lmusima3275 - Yes; flip-flops are more appropriate for pool & beach wear (or when gardening). Also, I think open-toed shoes should never be worn unless the feet have been tastefully pedicured.
@@mmthomas3729 Absolutely yes. After watching the video, I realize that I didn’t fall victim to as many of these trends as I thought. I guess I was always anti-trend in high school and wanted everything to be “normal” so I don’t look ridiculous in any of these items but I also don’t stand out.
I've lived in both warm and cold climates and depending on the weather it also dictates what's needed. If you're going to be outside in 30 below weather making sure your jacket isn't bulky isn't always an opion. And when you live where it's around 80 F in the winter and you're on a beach you're not going to wear closed footwear.
Anna can you please make us a video how to dress for fall/winter the proper way? Like an updated version. Especially how to combine ankle boots and overknee boots. Footwear during fall/winter in general. Really need this! Thank you for your great videos! You are a true inspiration
The thing is that most of these clothes are ok for your high school and univercity/college years and the remain in our closets because they're comfy , plain and easy They are perfectly fine but they dont show any progress
Ps Anna's channel is for everyone. It's up to the individual to choose which advice is best for us, we have minds after all and the responsibility to use them.
@@EccoLivingLife Why are you so rude and condescending? My, my... People can comment freely; this woman was not being rude in any way, and yet you chose to be towards her. Now that is showing a lack of elegance and a lack of etiquette.
Tip #2 is so spot on. I bought this coat a few months ago, wore it to dinner, but didn’t realize until looking at the single photo of the night: I looked three times my size. I have not worn it since.
Only Carrie Bradshaw could wear a coat like this contrasting with the naked dress, so everyone looking at her would not think of the coat. And it’s a fairy tale, in reality, not so many women are Carrie-shaped and Carrie-perfect so as addition of a size or a two won’t mess up the impression.
I have upgraded myself & life SO MUCH since I started binge watching your videos (it was much needed I do so). 1) I invested in some beautiful quality garments, 2) I decluttered my house, 3) I got rid of a man that was wasting my time & energy, 4) I'm loving myself & doing self care again. This is just the beginning, I have long ways to go. But I am confident that by upgrade my life, my inner world and the way I present myself and show up in life, I will attract a great man who will respect me, be proud of me and take good care of me (I do have my own business that i am passionate about and I continue with it). Thank you Anna. You were the boost I needed. This is so much more than just living an affluent life, it's a self care and regeneration from head to toe, and inside out ! Plus the finer things in life 🙏❤ I'm thankful and grateful ❤💕💕
Major side note: Anna, have you ever thought about doing a funny story time series or perhaps reacting to fashion faux pas? You are HILARIOUS without even trying to be 😂
YES I would love to see this!!! She really is effortlessly hilarious! Her reactions always make me laugh. She has so much knowledge, so we'd learn while getting entertainment! ❤
Anna can react to my fashion faux pas. I'm imperfect and have lots of them. I'm unemployed and overweight too, so she can tell me how my look is cheap and what a fashion and body wasteland I am. There's nothing like women supporting women! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love your candor and humor. Love how you can laugh at your past mistakes and share your successes. Remember ladies - Auntie Anna is going to be worried for you! 😆
Anna, can you please do a video on how to be elegant while living an active lifestyle? What clothing is appropriate in the gym? What types of fitness or activity-related photos are flattering to post on social media? Is it worth it to attend an elite gym?
I hate going to find fall outfit inspo bc these looks are flooded on social platforms. Do you have a list of feminine ladies you’d recommend for style inspo? Thank you Ana
It’s fine if you like basics. Wear what you like and if others don’t like it oh well. As long as YOU feel beautiful in it. This world is forever judging anyway, people wear what you like. We are not all suppose to look alike. Fashion and Style are two different things.
I do the boot and skinny jeans outfit a lot with a nice chunky sweater or a nice jacket or cardigan. Men still approach me left & right - and I’m no supermodel but I could give one a run for her money! I feel that as long as your hair is done, your makeup is good, your nails are neat and 🧼 clean, you smell good, and you smile...you will radiate a sensual, feminine aura that men cannot resist even if you’re wearing a trash bag. 😉😉😉
I would not think this way or dress up to look just a sex object to attract opposite sex for sex . In fact I dress up to look good, to feel good. It's about me just myself. Sadly many woman only think sex object about themselves. We should value ourself.
I find it so odd that this woman makes videos of how to look elegant yet her hair screams cheap, outdated, overtly bleached early 2000s style. I just want to give her hair a complete makeover to make it look more natural. Nothing screams trashy like bleach blonde hair. The tight curls at the bottom are also terrible and old fashioned.
My mom is from Southern California and she said she didn't even own closed toe shoes besides her work shoes when my dad moved her to NC 33 years ago. 🤣🤣
Hey, I hope thrifting is an option to you. There you can find new looking elegant clothes. I work in an office and all my office attire is thrifted but noone can tell.
@@margaritavalcheva i am wearing a gorgeous vintage thrifted dress right now! You can find wonderful thrifted clothes, even stuff that is normally really expensive. I love the treasure hunt too. 🥰
Love this sweater on you! I agreed with you on almost all the points you made. You gave good tips on what to do instead. The more I get to know you through this channel, the more I tend to agree with and appreciate your insights.
That's when we take her advice to dress appropriately for the activity we are apart of. But outside of your work be that elegant sophisticated lady you know you can be. ❤
My goodness, I leave YT for a while, return, and Hurrah!! - Anna has 1 million subs!! Congratulations Anna!! This is a testament to all your hard work and excellent content. Personally, I have loved watching your personality shine through more and more over time. You prove that one can be elegant, yet still be themselves. Thank you!
The funny thing is that I've seen numerous fast-fashion sites showing models wearing sweater dresses that look exactly like a sweater that should be worn with pants.☹️
Great tips! I would add to this a suggestion about the sweater as a dress situation: if you can add a belt to the sweater and it still covers everything, you can wear it as a dress, but if you add a belt and it loses enough length to show everything. Forget it.
✍️ Point no. 10 - When going outside, don't forget to put on pants . Got it 😅 In these post lock down times you never know actually, I might need a reminder
I dont understand why people get triggered by Anna's videos. If you like flannel shirts, teddy coat, and those boots then wear it. If you aren't into the whole elegant style 24/7 why even care if you love those pieces. Dont feel insecure and react. if you love those pieces so much dont feel insecure about what other people say about your wardrobe. No matter what style you wear or how perfect you look people will have a positive or negative opinion on your style.
I would love to see images on how to wear items in a better way. Like the booties in number one. Do you mean wide leg trousers? What about with skirts?
LOL, I love my teddy coat! It's a basic shape, hip length, a notched collar, usable pockets and it's a pretty blush rose in a nicely nubby texture. I always get compliments and never feel silly wearing it. The scarf I use with it is a rose, taupe and cream tartan and not bulky in the least. But I do agree with the examples you showed. You know your stuff!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this woman!! In today’s world where SOOOO many people are afraid of offending others, they dim their opinions and don’t let their individuality shine. This woman right here is 110% her and some people will love her and some won’t. I have a feeling she does not care. She is 110% a FANTASTIC role model for girls and women. Do I agree with her all the time, no. But I would never want her to change. Keep being you Anna!
@@artwithmamafairybreadd yes exactly. But not all women of thos world have time and money to sit and think only about dresses. Gosh! These are too many rules. I feel clothing should be clean and modest in which woman look presentable. Thats it.
The problem is that we can only buy what's available to us at the retail stores. Coats and shoes and boots have been a disaster for many years now. Thank goodness I still have my decent 10 year old wool coat and I don't need that junk that fashion industry is throwing at us.
a monochramatic looks always looks chic, so good flattering trousers like palazzos with a plain knit sweater and a nice straight structured tailores coat/jacket/blazer that is your exact size! eaaasy
Thanks for all the don’ts. But I think a video styling each of the don’t would be helpful. So for example. You said that booties are fine. Maybe you can do a video showing 5 different looks with booties. Same goes for high boots, how would you style it then? Really love your channel
Why do you say that? What's middle aged anyway? A lot of women (keyword is women) get complimented all the time on these wardrobe pieces. It's probably just the other way around because they aren't the ones who are mad. =)
@@drkufdrahrepus2868 *middle age is from 40 to 65* 65?!?! How many 130 year old women do you know? Average life expectancy for women is 82. She is middle aged at 41.
I agree with almost everything here- with 1 exception- open Toe Shoes 🙂 I was born and raised in a cold country, where open toe shoes are a novelty for only a couple months out of the year. Now I live in South Texas. It’s sunny and warm here most months of the year, and I celebrate my open toe shoes as often as possible. With a little thought, and the appropriate climate, they can work in any season❤️
I can see how that makes sense, in such a warm place. I'm Canadian, I live on the freezing cold Canadian prairies, where open-toed shoes would only make sense in the summer, but in a warmer place, I can see how it makes sense pretty much year-round.
Well Hello my Fellow Canadian! The 'cold country I was referring to in my OP is Canada! I was born and raised in Alberta! Lived on Vancouver Island before moving down here to South Texas many years ago! I love my open toed shoes, but I do kindof miss wearing boots for longer than a day or 2 in February! You have that advantage for sure! Stay warm my friend! @@Julia-nl3gq

In Uruguay spring started a few days ago. But i trully enjoy your videos so, i watch it anyways ♥️ thank u Anna for helping us to be elegant an femenine.... you are amazing!
As someone with a Max Mara Teddy in beige for apres-ski purposes…. Oh, well 🤦🏼♀️ I find I can make it look almost elegant if I pair it with my usual classic style. It’s all in the styling and colour. Unfortunately, wool/cashmere coats just don’t cut it in -40 degree weather for me, even with layering. P.s. North American ladies, if you’re looking at Max Mara (The Manuela is really quite elegant), try either buying it yourself in Europe or having a friend do so… excellent quality that lasts a lifetime for almost 3/4 of the NA retail price. 💕
I also own a Teddy coat, and I find it very elegant when styled appropriately ... I think it’s way better then a puffer and it a great alternative for people ho don’t want to wear fur jackets or puffer jackets when it’s very cold. I agree whit Anna that a very difficult piece to style an the quality counts because it might look very cheap but I think I will keep being elegant event with my teddy !!! I just try to style it as a fur coat and it works!
I may not always agree with her opinions or standards but I like her. I like that she's happy and she knows how to be happy. I like seeing happy people
I had a the teddy bear coat in brown in winter 2019 I brought at Target for the company holiday party and I took a picture with my co-workers and I was horrified on how I look! Everything you stated on the teddy bear coat is true and sold it on Poshmark. I was trying to look like a Max Mara ad and it failed
I used to be obese , almost 250 pounds ( I’m 5.7) and I’m a Latina, used to nice weather from Izabal . Since moving to Germany and then Pennsylvania I was freezing every winter but didn’t dare to wear a teddy coat. Im 128 pounds now, wich took a year to achieve and I will definitely wear a super warm teddy coat this winter, lol . My husband actually really likes it too, he laughs about the fact that I chose to be cold to look a bit slimmer for so long. When it’s -15 Celsius I don’t care anymore and will want to just be warm. I agree with most things though that are said in this video.
Was some of that weight loss due to your body constantly shaking in order to keep warm in the new cool temperatures? 😉 Congratulations on getting healthier! 🥳🥂
You should do more demonstrations for all body types with actual model's and full warobes. And lux for less, where to shop on a budget for luxury elegant looks. And luxury home decor!
Thanks Ana for the reality check ! We are all guilty of becoming too invested in a look which we convince ourselves looks great, but lacks alternative perspective... I'm tall and slim but am long-waisted and have learnt the hard way to keep the bottom half consistent when wearing black tights.
What boots should we be wearing? I just moved to Texas from California. The weather is crazy! I'm thinking of buying timberlands just so I don't fall!🤣
same here but from Puerto Rico to Dallas 6 years ago. I just check the weather forecast everyday before dressing up lol this week went from 84° to 36° in a matter of days 🤷🏻♀️ you never know

Yes, the right close can make you look elegant. Trust me ;). Anyone can look good 👍.

Elegance is not about the clothe you wear or how you wear it, its all bout attitude, personality, respect to yourself and others
Wrong, buy yourself a dictionary lol. This video is about how to dress elegantly, not about your personality etc.

I'm so basic with my Chelsea booties , but the teddy jacket?
Anna actually says what our mothers used to tell us all the time, I think these advices are universal across time, culture, religion and race. My Asian Indian mom wouldn't approve of all that she doesn't approve of as well! I used to hate her advice, accuse her that she is making me look like grandma. But I think she only was making me look graceful and I was trying to pull off signature looks which was at the end making me look uncultured!
Yes. And it's tricky because we want, when we're young to strike out on our own and be supported while still be given distance and if there's any trauma then that throws off everything.

Booties aren't flattering with skirts because they visually chop your leg. Better hidden under long trousers.
