Nice video. Just a small FYI here for your viewers... You CAN use a NEW steel roller fairlead with synthetic rope winch line. In fact, some prefer this type of fairlead even with synthetic rope. The steel rollers cannot have burrs and imperfections on the rollers that would cut or degrade the rope. When the steel rollers from a roller-type fairlead are used with steel cable winch line, the steel cable digs into the rollers causing sharp burrs and imperfections. That said, the MasterPull hawse is perfect with their SuperLine - which I've been using for many years now. GREAT winch line! Besides being a VERY tough synthetic rope winch line, SuperLine also wraps VERY cleanly around the winch drum. Cheers boys!

Yes, agree the Superline XD sits great on the drum. It doesn’t pinch and smash like other ropes without a full sheath. I won’t argue that some people might run a synthetic rope with a roller fairlead, but I don’t think it should be recommended. On a standard rope without a full sheath, threads are sure to get caught and pinched where the rollers meet when doing a diagonal pull. Thanks for the comment, Robert, rock on!! 👊

Isn't the XD line pre-tensioned? That eliminates the old need to spool with tension.

I think it is best to spool with tension so that as you are making a pull, the rope doesn’t slide between two other rope segments on the wrap under. Then it gets jammed stuck in there.
