If this were a Galaxy S5 it would have survived over an hour underwater as it is EXTREMELY waterRESISTANT for 30 minutes in 1Metre deep water but unofficial tests have had it last well over an hour in the deep end of a diving pool - would you classify that as a fail as you all expect phones to die underwater? You are saying it died after being under water (at an unknown depth - the deeper it gets the more pressure is pushed upon anything under water thus less waterproof) Anyway, you are saying that it having lasted over double the maximum time that Samsung says it is able to survive under water for is a negative? It is a positive thing! lol Why do you interpret that as a negative when it is actually a positive? 1 hour underwater then died yet it is only meant to last 30 minutes underwater... JM Maya The test wasn't exactly fair, they tried to charge the S6 but not the iphone (as far as I can remember). Either way, water damage to any phone will most likely mess with the power jack, so I recommend being careful with charging after water damage.

That's not bad. At least if you drop it in water, you have time to save it. It's not as water durable as some other phones. I just watched the Galaxy S6 water test. It lasted 20 minutes no problem. I only need a few seconds to save my phone though.
But what if your kid dropped it in there, without you knowing, you don't know what the future has in store for you. Since the galaxy s6 can last 20 times longer, I think I rather be safe than sorry.

Wrong! I have watched multiple videos of the iPhone 6 water test and in them it lasted 30 minutes compared to the Samsung Galaxy S6 (or whatever it is) which lasted 17 minutes.

I just let it stay open until it turned off by itself. But i put it in a bağ full of rice, Will anything happen? Will it still work? Even if it turned off by itself?
If it turns off by its self, it's there is a very good chance that it is fried for good. Sorry. I have some experience. At that point even the bag of rice trick is not likely going to be effective, if you still want to try to salvage it at that point the only option really is to have a professional repair shop have a look.

Guys, thanks for writing back, what happened exactly was that my phone was still working, but it went off by itself, then i turned it back on and the screen turned blue, and it didnt work again since. I was in another country with my mom, and my mom was going back before me, so she took my phone with her, so my dad can fix it, and my dad opened the inside of the phone, and dried the inside completly, and later it worked perfectly fine, nothing is wrong with it. So, yeah... :)

All the computers I've had were either given to me by friends who upgraded to better ones or I rescued them from the trash. I'm using one right now that I found two months ago. Sure, it's a few years old but I added more ram and optimized it as much as I could.

I just checked our website listings ( I live in Latvia), average price for iphone 6 (16gb model) is ~1000 ( two months worth of salary) euros. Compare it to the best smartphone on market right now HTC M8 (16 gb model) , which costs ~500 euros.

If I would sign a 2 year contract for iphone six, I would need to pay same ammount monthly as for those 2 phones combined. Which really makes no sense to me, why would I need to pay that ammount of money for a phone, that only now has achieved something that has been achieved by other ompanies for 2-3 years now :)

If this were a Galaxy S5 it would have survived over an hour underwater as it is EXTREMELY waterRESISTANT for 30 minutes in 1Metre deep water but unofficial tests have had it last well over an hour in the deep end of a diving pool - would you classify that as a fail as you all expect phones to die underwater? Just wondering. :)

You are saying it died after being under water (at an unknown depth - the deeper it gets the more pressure is pushed upon anything under water thus less waterproof) Anyway, you are saying that it having lasted over double the maximum time that Samsung says it is able to survive under water for is a negative? It is a positive thing! lol Why do you interpret that as a negative when it is actually a positive? 1 hour underwater then died yet it is only meant to last 30 minutes underwater... It is when you like to be around water and not kill your phone in less than 1 minute in an 'oops' moment... :) Also, the point of waterproofing is not just those accidental drops into water - it is to allow you to not limit your life and opens new opportunities such as going to the pool or beach and not worrying about the water also being able to take great videos and pictures underwater then put the phone in your pocket while wet and such is also handy.
One time I dropped my iPhone in ramen noodles we put it in rice and then blow dried it and it was like brand new

JM Maya The test wasn't exactly fair, they tried to charge the S6 but not the iphone (as far as I can remember). Either way, water damage to any phone will most likely mess with the power jack, so I recommend being careful with charging after water damage.

He doesn't own any of these & he said he doesn't really enjoy doing it to such nice phones but he's sponsors pay him so he has to. That's not bad. At least if you drop it in water, you have time to save it. It's not as water durable as some other phones. I just watched the Galaxy S6 water test. It lasted 20 minutes no problem. I only need a few seconds to save my phone though.
But what if your kid dropped it in there, without you knowing, you don't know what the future has in store for you. Since the galaxy s6 can last 20 times longer, I think I rather be safe than sorry.

Shvet Maharaj the s6 doesn't claim to be waterproof so therefore no extra cost. Its actually cheaper than the iPhone 6. And it's nice to have a phone that you accidentally drop it into water for a second that it doesn't fry it. I was taking on my iPhone one day when it was raining and one rain drop went down in the headphone jack and it fried it. I pay over $600 for something I'd like for it to be a little more damage proof than that:/

Wrong! I have watched multiple videos of the iPhone 6 water test and in them it lasted 30 minutes compared to the Samsung Galaxy S6 (or whatever it is) which lasted 17 minutes.

i dropped my iPhone 6 in the toilet yesterday (its in a bag full of rice now)
Ik now that i had to pick up the phone and turn it off completly but i didnt do it. I just let it stay open until it turned off by itself. But i put it in a bağ full of rice, Will anything happen? Will it still work? Even if it turned off by itself?
If it turns off by its self, it's there is a very good chance that it is fried for good. Sorry. I have some experience. At that point even the bag of rice trick is not likely going to be effective, if you still want to try to salvage it at that point the only option really is to have a professional repair shop have a look.

Guys, thanks for writing back, what happened exactly was that my phone was still working, but it went off by itself, then i turned it back on and the screen turned blue, and it didnt work again since. I was in another country with my mom, and my mom was going back before me, so she took my phone with her, so my dad can fix it, and my dad opened the inside of the phone, and dried the inside completly, and later it worked perfectly fine, nothing is wrong with it. So, yeah... :)
