Jordan, I just watched this video today before class and hit a Balloon Sweep later! it felt so gratifying. thanks a lot for your content, it goes further than you think! I'll go train at your place someday OSSS!
Hey Jordan, love your videos, have a fun suggestion for you. It would be you to be blindfolded while rolling with a lower belt with commentary! I think it would be really cool seeing you rely on just feel and muscle memory.
Hey thanks! Great idea. I don't think it would even make much of a difference haha. I think its all muscle memory now. Definitely I'll do a video sometime!
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu maybe still go with purple/brown haha but yeah your probably right and I’d suggest maybe 2 eye patches so it doesn’t come off? Look forward to it anyway 👊

Oddly enough I've never been taught it either. Just figured it out for myself randomly and then eventually came to learn it's a real thing with a name already haha. It's a great option if you can't get the underhook!

@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu dude, when you put out that hour-long conversation with Priit Mihkelson, I stayed up waaaaayyy too late watching that. Hahaha you're the man. :)
Incredible content as usual! A video on rehabbing injuries you've dealt with would make for some great content! Hurt my neck and my knee recently. I got bursitis suddenly and now a few weeks after its healed it feels fiery around my kneecap -I got knee pads and am resting.
Jordan thank you for your videos ! It is posible that you can make a video from a knee fight, in the bjj gym I am, because of the amount of ppl, has to start fighting in that position and as a whitebelt been trying to create the space for the sweeps, but is not so easy, because we have to mind our partners that are also training. If you can make or have videos about creating the opportunity for those sweeps in knee that would be awesome. Thanks again.
Thanks for sharing this! One of the BEST parts of your channel is seeing you perform the techniques you share on all sizes… even folks bigger than you. At 145#, I’m the smallest guy in my gym so sweeping guys 50-80# heavier is ROUGH! 😂
Thanks, Zach! And I understand your struggle lol. But at the end of the day, it'll only improve your technique, so be grateful for those heavy training partners 🙂

Hi professor: 3-stripe white wondering about the grip @2:22. I've always been told this isn't just risky for breaking fingers but also illegal. Thoughts? Love your channel btw!
Super thanks! 3 stripe white belt here. So far I’ve had success with the John Wayne and butterfly sweep. I’m still trying to work on lasso and reverse de la riva sweeps. Do you have any recommendations on jiu jitsu books to read in my free time?
I’ve been so hesitant on writing this out, I’ve been watching your videos and listening to your podcast. The energy you bring, the patience and love for the sport you share is truly inspiring. I have a question for you and your community RUclips. Is it a toxic environment at a gym if teammates, coaches, ect, jokingly talk down on you? In any aspect and it at times can be funny but takes the love of learning away. Just lately (I’m a purple belt) feel as if I’m not progressing. Don’t feel motivated to train. And it sucks I miss it. But mentally state has been heavy with these comments. Is there anyone that can help with that question, if it’s happened to any of you?
Hey man thank you! There's certain guys at the gym I'll joke around with like that but we banter with eachother because we're friends. It goes both ways. If someone is doing that and they cross the line or you're not on that type of terms with them, then it is super lame. I would mention it as sometimes people are so obvlivious and think they're way funnier than they actually are. If you're feeling hurt from the jokes than they're not jokes. Communication is key though even if it's awkward. I'd definitely say something.
@PlasmiChazz to recharge your batteries, drop into another club for some rolls or lessons. You may not feel like you are progressing because all your peers are advancing with you. They also know your game. Good luck, hope your passion comes back.
