Hey. I have 7.6 CGPA in my bcom completed 3 years back. I don't have work experience because since completing my undergraduate degree, I have been pursuing professional courses like ACCA and CFA. I will complete these courses by june 2025 and then start working. I'm planning to apply to this program for the 2026 intake. Do you think with a good GMAT say 740+ and my profile which I have tried to share with you above, I have any chance of getting into this program? Honest opinion and feedback please. Thanks.

Hello didi, My plan in future is to do MBA from top Ivey league university but they required good work experience of 3-4 years so i am confused between two parameters, first:- should i complete FRM and CFA along with my undergraduate and do work experience in India then go for mba or should i write gmat direct after completing my bachelor degree and opt for master in finance in usa/uk and doing work experience in finance of 3- 4 years then go for MBA?
Hi there! Both paths can lead to a top MBA, so it depends on your goals. If you want to build strong technical skills early, completing FRM/CFA and gaining work experience in India is a great option. On the other hand, doing a Master in Finance right after your bachelor’s can help you gain international exposure and work abroad before pursuing an MBA. Think about where you want to work (India or globally) and what kind of experience will align best with your long-term career goals. Best of luck, and feel free to ask more questions! 😊
Thank you for your question! It's a common concern, and many programs value holistic applications that reflect your overall potential. A strong academic background and work experience can indeed help offset a lower GMAT or GRE score. Focus on strengthening other aspects of your application, such as SOP, leadership experiences, extracurricular activities, and internships, to showcase your potential.
@@TheUnrealisticExpectations For good Program the GRE Quant average is much higher at 168-169. The easiest thing you can do to get ahead of others is to score higher in GRE. Everything else on work front or profile front does not matter unless you have a good score.

Can a strong academic background and work experience compensate for a lower GMAT or GRE score?

I have a GRE quantitative of 160 , will i be able to apply?
Yes, 160 meet the basic criteria to apply but it would be tough to get admitted because the average score of other candidates is much higher.
@AmeerKhatriConsulting what can I do to get ahead of others?
