- Graeme O'Neil takes a look at how celebrities are reacting to evacuating their homes and/or having their homes destroyed by the L.A. wildfires, including Paris Hilton, Eugene Levy, Billy Crystal, Mandy Moore, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, and James Woods.
Please show the middle class and poor. Celebrity have enough money to replace things. The rich can get hotels in safe areas. But the poor and middle class. They cant do it. My prayers for all who are affected. But we have to help the poor and middle class in California
All celebrities don't have money , some are still without , there are also lower class celebrities as well , all of them don't have money & some of them had common friends they lost in the fire 🔥
The "middle class" is nearly NON EXISTANT in California! Thank the leftist politicians for that!
But all the house worth a lot less are gone too and people's small cafes and businesses
Some of the houses are only worth £200,000 that were close to schools all gone .
I'm not into cleb culture but I have to say that it must be the memories lost more than anything , Jamie Lee Curtis had a lot of memobelia from her parents too.
I just hope no more life is loss , the poor wildlife is just gone and can't hear to think of all the poor animals .
So sad .
Jamie Lee Curtis is married to one of lords in the UK .. so sorry… but you have other homes … my sympathies are for those who don’t have the finance to rebuild …
He is actually the 4th Baron Hayden-Guest
I recently saw a video about the poor folks in North Carolina after the hurricanes. A single mother with kids was living in a tent in freezing cold winter weather because their FEMA money for housing had run out. She would get up in the morning and do construction on what was left of her home.
I'm not heartless, but losing ONE of your homes compared to losing your one and only little home just does not compare. Many of these people voted for the morons who facilitated this man made disaster. And, they will probably support them again, so it's really hard to feel empathy for their situation compared to the folks in North Carolina.
Asheville has been a cesspool of liberalism for decades. Who is voting for who now??
So tragic.
@alexandra-q7u1m you think Asheville was the only area effected? That's the area that got attention. People are in tents in western nc. It was 23° degrees the other in charlotte. Way colder up in the mountains. Fema denied many families & the hotel vouchers expired b4 xmas. The only help they're getting is from groups like Samaritans purse & mercury one & regular Americans. Fema workers also got busted & eventually fired when it went viral that they were denying help to places with anything trump related.
Still plenty of money for Ukraine and a bunch of Dem pork projects though, can anyone explain that?
@@Butrcup98 I’m not 💯 familiar with the political leanings of all of the NC cities independently, and NC is considered a swing state so I know there are many conservatives, my relatives and friends included, as well as leftist voters. Truth remains that there are enough “left” in NC who do vote the garbage in. CA is no better.
“So, excruciating watching Reporters ask about celebrities losing their homes, when Every day folks, babies, children and elderly, have truly lost everything and their community is wiped out…’

@thinkforyourself828 it's not about hating on the wealthy. It's that they're reporting on the rich people who lost one of their multiple houses or have large amounts of money to be able to recover rather than focusing on the middle class and lower who lost their only home, all their belongings, possibly their work place, and don't have large bank accounts because they didn't become modern bards. In my country, Australia, we have super Bushfires every year, it is a natural part of Australia, plus we also have many arsonists. But never do you get Bushfires burning down whole Urban areas in a large city like LA. Even in small towns in the bush, the town is usually spared despite bushfires ravaging around them. 99% of any property lose, is usually from Houses either located in deep Bushland, or farmhouses on huge acreage. Plus our trees in Australia are Eucalyptus Trees that are full of oil, and don't just burn, they explode.
If a place is prone to Bushfires, and Strong winds that flame the fires, mitigation is needed and preparation, so that the damage to humans is minimal. Backburning is necessary, and access to water and a well-funded firefighting service is essential. Our Indigenous Australians knew this also, and would regularly burn bushland to clear out the undergrowth which is fuel for uncontrollable fires.
It is unacceptable that this was allowed to happen, and heads should roll. This needs Tribunals to find out how Urban areas can just all be burned down. It is 2025, not 16th Century London.... It is not politicising, it is finding who is at fault.
@ Texas, North Carolina! The heavy winds are climate change my dear. They will stay bc more extreme weather is the new normal thanks to ignoring climate change !
@@81suze This is not climate change - this is incompetence. Fires that are preventable by doing basic vegetation clearing are not the same as tornadoes and hurricanes. If this was an earthquake there would be no calling out of incompetent politicians because that is a natural disaster. The winds make this worse but zero containment is due to incompetence.
How many of these people voted for newsom !!!!!!!!!
All of them its los Angeles like 99%
I know what you are saying, but there are some actors and actresses that are conservatives. I feel bad for them!
Most of them and they would vote for him again and again
It doesn't matter, he was gonna be the governor wether anybody voted for him or not. Once Dumbocrats get power they rig it so they don't lose it.
THEY WONT NOW
I feel sorry for the animal's and the regular people. These Celebs can buy another house very easy. Or than can move to another house that they own.
Even more importantly, 17 LAPD officers have lost their homes too.
Rich people can rebuild. They have money in the bank and several homes. Ordinary people working people have nothing…..no comparison…
And fire insurance
Boo hoo nobody cares! These celebs might have 10 or 20 houses somewhere in Beverley Hills.
Now everyone will appreciate what Hawaii went through. People listen to celebs, how many listened to the normal people who lost it all and couldn't replace anything.
James Woods saved that 94yo neighbor with dimensia by insisting that someone go check on him. Respect. I like him even more now, he's a good human being as well as a good actor.
houses all burnt up but the trees still standing and some still green ...strange
Celebs losing homes received what they voted for, no sympathy...
All politicians are criminals
@randall6144 They will be fine and vote that way again, because they can and will rebuild again. California will ALWAYS be for democrats....they are ALL friends!
GODS PAYMENT EVIL BEING DESTROYED
Don't care. Go away. You can either buy another home double quick or go to one of your other mansions. Some people have nothing left and no resources to rely on. Nothing.
They put their trust in a governor and mayor that has failed them. You get what you vote for.
They actually want the poor people mercy! 😂🙄☝🏻
Amen to that. These people are beyond stupid.!
Like the floods in Texas ?
Not the time to point fingers.
@vonnie_g YES IT IS! ☝🏻👉🏻👉🏿👉🏻
None of these celebrities have come out in support of North Carolina, Tennessee, or Florida after our absolutely devastating hurricane season, none of them did because they put politics over people so I think those of us on the east coast can show them what it means to be good and we can support them even though they did not support us. Prayers for all of the devastated families in our nation. From the East Coast to the West Coast, we have thousands of people who have become homeless because of these disasters. It’s time for us to put politics aside and come together again in the way that only we can as Americans, we must do this, and we must show the rest of the world that we are still the light on the hill, that we can still stand up and fight the powerful together.
These “Celebrities “ got what they voted for it’s the ordinary people I feel for
Did it occur to you that the ordinary people also voted for the same person??
@@largol33t1The celebrities promoted their political views from a very public platform, whereas the ordinary people did not.
Exactly!
Too Bad, North Carolina does not have movie stars to fight for them! So sorry for your loss but other Americans are suffering!!!!
Forgive me for not feeling sorry for people who have multiple dwellings and the money to run to the pent house of a hotel while regular every day working people really and truly have lost everything.
It’s not just happening to the rich. It appears to be happening to everyone
there are apartments being threatened too. not just mansions. yes some people i know have the ability to go to their beach house if their regular one burns, but that's not the case for everyone. many people i know would lose everything and are being very closely threatened by the fire and would be totally homeless and have to live in a shelter for the time being. there are regular people here too. they are only reporting on the celebrities because it gives them the most attention and better press for some reason. however on our local news channels they have been reporting on regular people who lost everything. so im not sure why all these comments are acting like rich people are the only people being affected by this.
James Woods. That fire has a right to Defend itself.
My heart is breaking for them, consider all the designer handbags, clothes, shoes and 10 cars they've lost. Now they have to fly to Paris to get new stuff. Armarni, Gucci, Versace will all be kept very busy refilling those wardrobes.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😊
Ain't that the truth!
👍🏻
A lose non the less
This could end up being a boon to the fashion industry.
Most of those celebrities don’t even live in California all year long to avoid paying taxes to the State .
And you would do the same thing
@@kellypolfleit3942no because we can’t afford to have multiple homes like these “celebrities” stop trying to vouch for them because they never do for us.
Poor millionaire they feeling sorry for there home burn from there yetch.next day they buy another bigger home 😂😂😂😂😂 no celebrity die in this fire but many of citizens die but no celebrities seem like stage and replanning.
They got plenty of home Poor millionaire they feeling sorry for there home burn from there yetch.next day they buy another bigger home 😂😂😂😂😂 no celebrity die in this fire but many of citizens die but no celebrities seem like stage and replanning.
Actually if you live in California for a significant period of the time, the California government will declare California your main home and still tax you.
Why are these people allowed to go into the burned zone when the people of Lahaina were not?
Good question I would like an answer to that too. Doesn't make sense does it?
im wondering that too but you gotta be escorted as someone in the area. it doesn't make much sense as the fires are still active.
Here we go again been said different classes for different asses
they were in on this, got insurance, those houses probably made them 5 times what they spent on them
Where is the mute mayor? The so-called state leadership, politicians, and management officials are to be blamed for creating this situation. They failed to implement adequate policies and system to attack these frequent fire situations.
They knew that the area lacked adequate fire water supply and fire water station equipment are not functioning but refused and failed to address those challenges due to their bureaucracy and corrupt lobbying system of allocation of resourses. There should be a class action lawsuit against the state for creating this situation and detroying people's livelihoods.
You americans are screwed dealing with these insurance companies and state incompetent political leadership. Very sad and shameful forca country that like to parade itself to be the best in the world but cannot implement common-sense control and mitigative measures to prevent escalation of fire events. Incompetent fools...
No one ever reported on the over 100 fires in California in August 2024. We had many families in the historic mining town of Havilha and all the families living there lost everything. There is no historic town left or homes, trees, etc. most had no insurance because they couldn’t afford it! 59,392 acres burned, homes and animals, pets lost. The first responders worked so very hard, evacuating people, fighting the fires, etc. not to mention cleaning up after. I heard these poor people only get $15.00 and hour while fast food workers get $20.00 an hour minimum wage, what’s wrong with that picture? FEMA had no money to help they spent it all on supporting the illegal aliens, and Gruesome Newsom came for a photo op and said they couldn’t do anything. One photo of Newsome looking down at his shoes getting dirty with the look on his face, what am I doing here in this awful place. Then several months later he goes out and buys a million dollar home! Now L.A. and the suburbs are burned to the ground. Thanks to the whacko wealthy environmentalist that have the democrats in their pockets! Angry yes people are angry with good cause!
It was a nice post until you had to throw some shit at the governor and then the rest of your post. I didn’t even bother to read. Your heart is filled with hate you don’t care about anybody so stop talking.
Bless you...🙏🙏❤️🙏🙏
@@MEMAONE I'm calling BS. Havilah* is an old mining town and while it's sad that a historical landmark got wiped out by 1 fire. No one actually lived there. California up and down the coast had over 8,000 fires and you chose that as your example? I'm thinking you're AI 🤔
@@tadah98 However, you have to call out things for what they are: this Gov Newsom has been in charge in one form or another of Calif for ~20 years (mayor of San Fran in 2003, vice gov in 2011, etc) and during that time Calif has gone downwards in almost every conceivable measure. He owns 4 wineries and just bought a $9 million dollar house this year, and he has sold out the people of Calif. The leadership of Calif deserves to be called out--these people are terrible at their jobs as leaders and should face a reckoning.
@tadah98 are you serious! What a totally crap thing to say!
Nothing helps the celebs understand how the remainder of the country has been affected with destruction by hurricanes, flooding and tornadoes, but personally experiencing a loss themselves. They believe things like this don’t happen to them. After all they can buy their way out of everything.
I am finding it extremely difficult to worry about rich people problems.
Not difficult for me at all.
Um 🙄 it’s not just happening to the rich
More and more every day. What else could they possibly expect?
@@kellypolfleit3942 exactly
These celebrities saying "These are people...and they lost everything. Blah blah blah" But when other people like the Texans who suffered extreme snow storm and lost power, they were mean to the core by saying they deserve to auffer because of who they voted...RIGHT BACK AT YOU, HOLLYWOOD!
It shouldn't matter how much you have or don't have, a loss is a loss ffs!
I'm very sorry they lost their homes, so did many more non celebs without famous voices. I hope they all get Gavin Newsom out of office.
Amen, amen, amen.
I actually feel bad for the people who had generational homes - there are going to be some of them who won't have the money to rebuild and stay in the Palisades. They are not the celebrities, just people who lost everything
@deepoole820 Newsome isn't the problem. It's the insurance companies fault. The greedy insurance companies while living the high life will not see a good fate. Instead of blaming our leaders we need to focus on how we can be better humans. Humanity itself has lost it's way.
@@cheri7054 Not humanity, mon Cheri - just people like you! If you vote this horrific woke insanity in again - despite even celebrities finally waking up to the reality of the Left - literally no one can or will help you. Insurance companies are the way they are because the laws are so lax about maximizing profits. (Hopefully people wake up now and demand their Reps change laws around that.) But there is no explaining Newsome. That, there, is either incredible incompetence or egregious evil - or both. Nothing else.
@@cheri7054 thats what ive been trying to say and i actually live here. idk why all these people across the country are pretending to know what they are talking about. they just love to point fingers for fun. we should blame state farm for cancelling insurance.

The mayor shouldn't have cut funding to the fire departments. It looks like voters are not very important in this state.
Newsom needs to go. Absolutely disgusting.
I just Loved that in your face BLUE garbage can and wooden picket fence next to unburnt foliage and brusb, yet the entire home was leveled... Because that's normal right?
I know, right! How does the "wind" jump fire from house to house without buring bushes or anything else (burning random houses from the inside out) . This is far from normal.
@@livingbeyondvision4863 It can come down to something as simple as the type of plant or bush. Some plants contain more water than others, while others have far less volatile oils with much higher ignition requirements. Different materials have different ignition requirements. As for houses that have been "burned from the inside out", many of the exterior walls of those homes were constructed with a material that either can't ignite, or is very difficult to ignite (i.e. Stucco, Concrete, Brick.).
They showing many famous people who lost their homes, many very very rich people mind you. But many of them own more than one home. So even if they lost a home worth millions they still have the money to buy another or own another home somewhere else that they can go too. They are not like the regular people or seniors who live pay check to pay check. Senior who lost their home and they can’t go out and work and buy another because of their age. People who don’t have the money to buy another home, they don’t have no place to go. Many can’t afford to stay in hotels or motels or leave the state. Why isn’t the news showing the non rich people who lost their homes? The non famous.

I hope the animals are ok

It would appear by the comments that celebrity culture is dead. The citizens are lighting their touches with the embers of their homes.
I got marshmallows!!!!
Now they see what us regular folks go through in natural disasters. If they don't believe in the Lord they will now because this is definitely a warning and God is the only one who can save them from the aftermath.
I could care less. Who I care about are the people who's insurance will abandon them. Who can't afford to rebuild. Who can't afford to stay at their 2nd or 3rd home, because they only have one home
So sorry for everyone's loss in California. My heart goes out to you all. The same to everyone still suffering in North Carolina. My prayers are with you. From Texas.
