I have one more thing to say. As a band thats been around for over 50 years, They continue to ROCK and play an awesome show. They deserve to be in the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME!!!!!!
I have loved these guys since their beginning!! Being a teenager in the early 70's their music was what I needed. Have followed them for 50 years too!!

They have really cut JY singing lead on those DDY songs Lorelei and Light Up. I’m almost positive he sang Light Up when I saw them. He of course still does Miss America. They cut out any Mission songs and I believe they played 2 Crash songs when I saw them the Summer of 2023. Wonderful Lives is a good song, it kinda reminds me of Fooling Yourself and that driving bass beat. I have always loved Fooling Yourself’s intro.
I attended this show and was blown away by the energy onstage. I saw them in ‘78, and again in ‘24. I get it, not the same band but Shaw, Young and the rest of the band rocked. It was fantastic - Go see this if you have an opportunity. They played a ton of 70’s stuff !!!
Greetings from ca. a 50year fan saw them 9 times with Dennis and going on 42 times with Larry. This band sounds better now than then. Yes Dennis wrote lots of their songs but he did not want to tour much J.Y. and Tommy did. That's it simple They play roboto because the fans demanded it once again simple to all the trolls out there saying that the band with Dennis sounded better go away no one wants to hear it and it sounds petty anyways. We are off to see them twice in Phoenix end of February. Rock on
Thanks for posting this great show! I know things change over time as Dennis being gone long ago but cut these legends some slack as they continued to rock and kept the music of our youth alive for us all to enjoy. Thank you Styx for the music!😊
I saw them for my 15th birthday 15 years ago at the State Theater in Kalamazoo, Michigan and they were incredible. I’m seeing them again this week with my wife at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids! Can’t wait!
My wife and I saw Styx last summer at Wild Adventure in Georgia. The show was a fantastic musical treat. Kudos to James Young and Tommy Shaw for keeping the music going for over fifty years!
I saw them in Charleston WV … has the best time in the capital of WV and watching Styx perform. The band is so personable and Entertaining and the music was classic !! They are coming to Pittsburgh Summer 2024 for an outdoor show !!
I’m going to see them with Foreigner and Jon Waite in Pittsburgh in July. I have seen them several times with Kansas as the opener and they never disappoint. Keep rocking !!!
Really marvelous show! I won't miss their concert next time they hit S. Florida. Keep rockin dudes. We love you. Thanks for sharing this amazing video!
Always loved Styx in the beginning and now but in different ways. Of course I loved it with Dennis and Tommy, They were awesome and incredible talent their was. They did drift apart and wanted to go different ways with their music. Dennis wanted more theatrical and slow and Tommy and the others wanted more rock. I was never a fan of Mr Roboto either and the reason they do it today as they said in a interview was the fans wanted them to do it so I get that. I really love what Tommy does and the best performance I thought was in Cleveland Ohio with the orchestra. Tommy sounded the best I ever heard and was incredible to watch. Wish I would have been there
This was the best Vegas show Styx has done in my opinion. Thank you for posting this whomever did. To all the naysayers out there who really miss Dennis DeYoung, Dennis couldn't keep up with the band in the direction they were going after the Brave New World Album as the band has explained in detail in the interview from axstv The Big Interview with Dan Rather. After All of these years they still have what it takes to put out great music and performance it with precision. Not many of the Classic Rock bands can still do it for this long. Kudos Guys. ☮️💚✨🎶🎸🥁🎹
I agree really the band is so good right now Dennis could not keep up not even on a bet have been a styx fan since 1974 seen them almost 50 times (hard core fan) and they never get old
Tommy Shaw and I were from the same neighborhood in Montgomery, Alabama. He was two years ahead of me in school. When I was in the 7th grade and he was in the 9th, he and two girl students played a little show in our school lunchroom. The only song I remember them playing was "Hey Jude," which was awesome because that song had just been released and was a big radio hit at the time. I never knew that Tommy grew up to become a member of Styx until I was about 22 years old.
I saw them for the 2nd time in 2023 and I was blown away. My seats were 7th row so we were right there in the front. Tommy Shaw is just plain awesome. Todd Sucherman is a monster on the drums. Lawrence Gowan had the crowd laughing with the things he would say between songs. I really enjoyed it. They put on a great show.
im a 90's kid. just saw Limp Bizkit in the pit this passed Sunday. Was Awesome. Looking forward seeing this group on Friday. Be different for me seeing a band like this, but im stoked! Remember playing pinball around 12 listing to Styx! Good Stuff.
He left the band they still STYX i agree DDY from the beginning to 1999 almost all their biggest hits are from DDY era but lets accept the fact that DDY already leave this band. Move ON .!
LOL Lawrence Gowan has been with them longer than Dennis was now, it's time to get over it dude, and Gowan is a legend in his own right, which more solo hits than Dennis ever had.
@@greatunz67 Gowan never had a charted single as a solo artist in the United States. He (and Styx) haven't had a charted single since he joined. DDY had 8 top 10 charted singles between Styx and his solo material.
I have heard the guitar solo for Crystal Ball live at least 100 times, and rarely are they the same. In this case, Tommy completely changed the solo and I love it. Very low key, and it builds. He is a master!
Wow Las Vegas has become a gold mine for these old bands that can't sell out stadiums etc. In fact all the casino venues throughout the USA have kept their carrers and pocketbooks going strong 💪
Saw them back when they where on their Grand Illusion tour , 75ish? Went to see, one of the other warm up bands, dont remember . I was about 16 or 17, was about 6 ft from center stage. I became a Styx fan from that day. I've seen them 5 or 6 times over the years. In 2010 , I went to a REO, Styx, 38 Special concert. I went to see REO Speed Wagon, I was a fan of older REO . It was first time I saw them. Was not impressed. Styx came on and blew them away. Good concert all in all. I thought Styx was the best out of the three. Every time the have been a great, fun concert. They still rock.
1975 Birmingham Ala,,,,,,,,,Styx opened for Joe Cocker,,,,,,,,we went just to see Styx,,,we did see maybe 2 or 3 songs from Joe and said lets go party somewhere and split,,,,,,glad i got to see alot bands in their prime,,,,,Grand Illusion tour was awesome. One of the best rock and roll band in history.... but this is thanks to Mr. Dennis de Young. Respect! Also respect for Tommy Shaw, the second front man, and the rest of the band!
Deyoung is gone. So what. The lead singer has been there longer than he was and is quite the talent. Tommy still rocks it. Saw them recently. I recommend it.
Never gets old. JY still singing it very cool. Chuck appearing on bass is always cool to see. Todd always wears me out watching him. I needed this tonight for sure.
Sound is good for youtube, It will be better live. You probably should go and see them live . I saw them at the House of Blues Hollywood. One of the best concerts That I have seen.

Tommy Shaw is simply a legend and everything he touches turns to GOLD.
How many original members are still with Styx?
Well he should have touched his plastic surgeon.
@@TRUTH4U2NO Everything Tommy touched turned to shit. So he had to steal the name Styx from Dennis

Whether DDY or the current Styx lineup, I like both the same. There's great talent in each. The've just gone in different directions.

"Boat on the River" rules!!!
Wish there was more COTC and The Mission represented here, but hard to argue with live Styx. Always great.
Where’s DENNIS ……????????
Exactly! Dennis Young is Styx period!
Lawrence Gowan has definitely filled the spot well
Their secret weapon for the last few years is that incredible drummer. Still, it isn't Styx without Dennis De Young
Great show, but with Dennis would have been awesome.
Unbelievable I seen them in the early eighties still sounds the same
1880's?
70 yo Tommy's voice is as good as ever!
