hi nurse Eunice is it ok to feed without a glove

Hello. As long as your hands are clean, gloves are optional for the feeding skill in the state of Florida. However, I would still encourage to CNAs to wear gloves in case the resident begins to cough or drool (real world). I hope this info helps. Good luck ❤️.

Do you have to raise the side rail up when feeding them?

Not all beds have side rails (ex: home care). When in doubt, do what's safest for the resident or patient.

Don't we only clean their hands before feeding. Not during?

You suppose to sit when you feed a resident

Ok. Tell that to all of the nurses and CNAs who are actually feeding patients.

Here in Miami the seating is mandatory. Don’t know if it’s optional in different cities in Florida 😊
