I grew up in SW Louisiana and now live in Colorado. We spent our lives with the alligators. I’ve never been in danger yet fished and hunted ducks in the same waters as them. It’s all based on your comfort level and how much time you’ve spent with those amazing animals. For the most part alligators keep their distance from big targets. They get curious near things they know they can feed on. A human is not in an alligators comfort zone so they will swim close but then hold their ground.
Gabe, unfortunately many people never get to experience the outdoors & the joy of hunting & fishing with family especially fathers & sons. I was hunting & fishing Okeechobee & the swamps of Florida & Georgia from the age of 9. I can not even begin to count the number of gators, sharks, and snakes I came in contact with over the years. I can tell you from the first day hunting, I learned to respect adults, game officials, gun/hunter safety & all wildlife just to begin with. I cherish the days in the field with family & friends including my own son & would not change a thing. I admire you spending time with your kids & teaching them. If more kids had this experience, they would be far better members of society. Great job!!

You're going to love Jackson Hole . Went there before Christmas years back and it was snowing when the plane landed . We stayed at Snow King resort and skied there for two days . We also had lift passes for the Grand Tetons but that was a little out of my league , and at Snow King we didn't have to go anywhere . MAKE SURE you check out the arbors in Downtown Jackson Hole . They are made out of elk antlers and are beautifully decorated for Christmas .At night it almost looks magical . There's also a bar downtown with saddles to sit on instead of barstools , called The Cowboy Bar . Get you a stuffed and mounted Jackelope while you are there . They're part Jack Rabbit , part Antelope . 🤨😉

I have no clue how I missed this video. But glad I came across it. As for the King Fish, the last big King I caught here in Crystal River, When I cleaned it I took a few pounds of it and cut it up into like 1-inch x 1-inch bites, seasoned, flowered, and deep fried them, and they were so good that there were 6 kids and 8 adults and I couldn't deep-fry them fast enough.
Gabe that was probably the best underwater spearfishing video has ever seen and I’ve been diving for years and I’ve never shot that many fish at one time keep doing it your videos are great and I do love the way that you’re teaching your kids
The right size motor and prop sure can make a difference. My flats boat engine is perfect for it but changed prop pitch and now it is like a new motor. Used to rev it through the roof to plane and for speed. Now it jumps up on plane and faster lower rpm. Haven't figured fuel mileage yet but regardless, satisfied!
I`m like you Gabe but older I grew up here in Florida in the woods, swamps hunting, fishing, camping been here all 65 years of my life residing in the same county that I was born in. Not afraid of Alligators but do respect them. Enjoyed it Gabe

Good video. Going to look into some lithium batteries to reduce weight on my boat as well. Very good job explaining the benefits of reducing weight and propping your motor correctly. I agree it's not as much about top speed as much as getting good fuel efficiency especially at today's prices. Tight lines 🤙 🎣

awesome! that contender is perfect, about as big as you would want to deal with on a trailer. I do like those big 16" diameter Suzuki props they have on the 300s, I agree the weight and complexity of the 350s really isn't worth it
