Can confirm! From Ottawa, my first concert was the smashing pumpkins followed by Neil Young the next month. People don't talk enough about how active he was during that time. Pearl jam toured as his backing band for an entire album in the 90's. God father indeed 😁
When I was 20 years old when I 1st heard this. The song means more to me now that I am 68. Neil Young, his guitar, and his harmonica killing it on stage. Few people can do that today. There are no special effects or bandmates to hide behind.
Look up Heart of Gold by Neil Young, he plays the harmonica while playing guitar and very nice vocal! My son got set up to play harmonica and his guitar after watching that performance and is awesome!
My sweetie plays harmonica and loves Neil Young, so for our first Christmas I got him an autographed Neil Young harmonica and had it framed up with a sweet pic of Neil with that setup and a gorgeous harvest moon overhead. Worth every penny.
My Dad’s favourite song. He passed away in January of this year from ALS at 75. I’m crying and laughing at the same time right now. You are truly wonderful. ❤️

Ohio. A short and simple - yet one of the best and most iconic - protest songs in history. I still always get chills just hearing the opening bars and beats.
I came here to say just that. The greatest songwriters, especially of the 60s and 70s, wrote songs that were prophetic. The songs they wrote at 20 could have been written by people in their 80s. They apply universally.
First heard this song when I was 10. The line 'Doesn't mean that much to me to mean that much to you' imbedded in my head. I'm 61, and lived that way ever since. Never tried to impress. Never tried to 'fit in'. Just be yourself. And Neil was absolutely one of a kind!

One of my favorite songs. With one of my favorite lyric: “It doesn’t mean that much to me, to mean that much to you.” Another powerful song is about alcohol which he calls ‘The Old Laughing Lady.’ “He loves his old laughing lady, ‘cause the taste is so sweet. But the laughing ladies lovin’ ain’t the kind you can keep.” Neil Young is Neil Old now. One of the best songwriter, musician, performer ever.
He's singing about how he is like the old man used to be when he (Old man) was a young man. Great song. This was performed on the BBC in England back in 1973 I think. It's a lesson on how you shouldn't take being young for granted. It's over fast my man.
He's an old man now,74, 75 in November. What a catalog. This guy was in several bands and solo at once. Once called the hardest working man in rock and roll. Owns Lionel Trains, Hank Williams seniors guitar, blah blah blah. Check out live in Hyde park, doing a day in the life Beatles song, with Paul McCartney on stage in awe. Listen to the actual Beatles Day in the Life first to put it in perspective.

Love seeing your reactions. I love Neil Young. Please do more reactions to his music.
They say when a singer closes their eyes when singing, their feeling it and they are back there at that moment
I’d slay dragons for Neil Young !!!
You reacted just the way you listen to "Old Man"! You laid back good and stoned and chilled to it! ✌️🎼💙
hes sayin to the old man, I'm alot like you were (when he was young). you gotta love it when a dude can get out there with just a guitar and haul you right in to his world.
Hey, Neil was born in Toronto and grew up in rural Ontario. He suffered polio as a child, and had to learn to walk again. He's turning 75 soon. My husband knew his dad, a sportswriter.
1971,I was 18 when this was out, just goes straight to the soul....Beautiful, chills!°
He's so young in this, wow.
Neil Young has so many great songs... Too many to mention (Harvest Moon) :)...
A man and a guitar, can fill your soul with such emotion. I think this was released in 1972, property was cheap in CA then. Beautiful reaction watching you get lost in it.
Good ol folk music. Songs with stories and meaning, music with heart and love in it. Just a man, an instrument or two, and an open window into his soul.
Heart of Gold is one of his biggest songs, has a lot of deep songs though.
In 2020 a WTH year, at least we have you; a funny guy with a heart we can all relate to. Always wishing you good things...❤️
Seeing your reaction, beware "Sugar Mountain". You may not be able to sit back up.
