Whenever I feel bored with most guys playing the same, I just look at Roger, and I always watch in total amazement and joy over the sheer unique genius of the man. Carlos and Holger are great, but no one can play like Roger.
Federer literally plays like a Balerrina dancer. So elegant and graceful.
Besides he has such a silent game.
Unlike Sonego whose grunts are ridiculously loud.
@@SorcerorStrange I cannot stand the screamers either.
Funny, I just came here to watch some Federer brilliance after seeing the Holger Rune - Novak Djokovic final highlights. As happy as I am as a Dane for Holger Rune, I need some of the Federer magic to really enjoy tennis.
There are players who have emulate aspects of his game; dimitrov, gasquet, Musetti, tsitsipas too in some ways, maybe Shapo though sometimes I think he's more wawrankiesque.
But noone quite matches his elegance and as yet no one has been able to play like him and win a slam, let alone 20!
I can watch Roger's games over and over and not get bored
Federer's 2011 ending was the setup for a very good 1st half of 2012 .
Starting from 2011 October, Federer won Basel, Paris, Tour Finals, Dubai, Rotterdam, Indian Wells, Blue Court Madrid, Wimbledon, Olympic silver, Cincinnati.
One of the best phases of Federer in the 2010s.
2012 was the last leap year 😥 when Federer played a full season .
I'd say he had a great entire 2012 season. He reached to many finals after Cincinnati. You don't have to win titles throughout the whole year to make it great.
He played all of 2014, 2015 and 2019 didn't he?
@@_jiwi2674 And he was really tired, 2012 was a really full year, phyisically and mentally winning and being on top against prime Djokovic and prime Nadal must be exhausting with 31 years old.
@@Cdog810 those aren’t leap years, but correct
@@Cdog810 I said 2012 was the last leap year when he played a full season.
Nowhere did I imply or say that he missed 2014, '15 or '19.
I miss him a lot, damn, his game is the most beautiful thing I've seen on a telly !
If you observe the way he plays , he hits it with such variety . The new generation doesn't seem to have a lot of different shots like he had , they just hit it hard all the time with topspin. It is not always about the brute force or sheer speed , Roger had all these and also unbelievable shot selection. Also , the fact that he never had any major injuries during his career and has seldom retired from a game is a testament to his legacy and playstyle
Sir Roger federer golden legend in universal love you so much miss you so much teniss history best player ❤❤❤
Many players in the near future in this world will come having the play style, talent, mentality, physique, better success rate etc etc like a Nadal , djoko but damn sure there will never be even one player having the enormous talent of Roger, play style, elegance, amazing varieties , such mad popularity, effortless play style etc etc etc even in the next 1000 years
Amazing piece, Raz, as usual. The Roger's backhand and specially the forehand of those times, my Goodness. Thank you, Raz, keep going.
Man, I miss the Fed. There's no one who plays like him, no one at all. That attacking forehand, that sublime BH slice, that quick one-two step to put away a volley, those angles when he was feeling especially good, the near-sacred silence of his movement and overall game - basically, that _all-court_ game, imbued with unprecendented kinaesthetic style. There's no one who plays an all-court game today (forget about playing it beautifully) and tennis is poorer for that.
P.S: Fed was one point away from the Roma and two points (?) away from winning Monte Carlo. The "Golden Masters" would have been his _way_ before it was the Djoker's...if Fed hadn't been the alchemist he is and transmuted victory into defeat. 🙄
Nadal plays all-court…
Nadal was one point away from straight setting Federer at Wimbledon 08. Djokovic was 1 point away from Rome 09,…
Not sure whats the point of ‘if’, ‘but’ and ‘would have’ here
@@NamTran-xc2ip Nadal didn't have matchpoints in set 3.
@@SHVideografie My mistake, how close was he? 2 points?
Yup. Man I miss him
Really enjoying all these new videos, especially of even earlier days than this. As TheKDX7 says, it would be fantastic if you could make compilations of his progression through other tournaments. The Cincinnati summary (was that yours? Think it was 2015) is sensational - they make substantial, satisfying viewing. But thank you for them all.
Such a pity that he missed this tournament so many times. From 2004-2006 (arguably his three greatest seasons ever), he either skipped Paris-Bercy so he could play his home tournament Basel like in '06 or was forced to skip it due to injury like in '04 and '05. He also had to withdraw from Bercy in 2008 due to his back injury. Imagine how many more indoor titles he would have if he played Bercy and Madrid indoors those years.
Masterpiece, can you do a compilation like that for many others tournament?
That semifinal vs Berdych... Good Lord
Nick kyrgios came to play tennis around year 2014-15, when fed was already around 34 years of age. He says after getting defeated by djoko (in Wimbledon final of 2022)in the post match interview that playing Nadal & djoko is easy and they win as they play slightly better whereas Federer will make the opponent feel very bad and will win by a wide margin making the opponent feel like an ordinary club player. He is saying this seeing the game of around a 34 year old Roger federer. Imagine what he would say a peak, prime most talented player of age around 21-25'years old ( year 2002 to year 2007)
Fed in 2015 would neg 02 and 03 badly
Roger's is a wonder to behold
Didn't drop a set. The goat. Had he changed his racquet around this time, add like 5-7 more slams to his count, maybe more. He finally mastered it in 2017 and then started to slow down just a bit. Still the greatest to ever touch a racquet and the most exciting.
Why the raquet?
Keep telling yourself that
@@bowiththeflow7123 he's never needed to repeatedly cheat to win shit. Lol. Nadal lost 7 of the last 8 against him. Novak is the biggest cheat, who admits it, in the game. Go RUclips what players think of his tactics. Not to mention pretty much razor tight matches, while Federer is 6 years older and not cheating. Roger on his best day vs Novak on his best day is a blow out. Go watch the best version of Novak at the 2011 French and see what happened. Lol. Novak will always be a bitch with a boring ass game. Go sit on his lap and tell him the first thing that pops up.
@@throwinfitz1144 remind me what is federers head to head against Nadal? Nadal was dominating peak Federer while he was only a teenager. And you mention federers racket change. I can easily say "oh if Nadal didnt get injured that often and didnt miss all these slams and big tournaments he couldve won double the amount". But a legend once said "if if if doesnt exist". I'm a Rafa fan btw but I also love fed. He will always be the king of tennis but I'm not delusional. Djokovic will definitely end as the GOAT. You could argue that he is the GOAT already but I feel like Nadal just edges ahead with that one extra slam and the Olympic gold medals. Stop living in 2008. Federer got overtaken by both of them
@@bowiththeflow7123 Remind me again how many finals Rafa went to outside of the French, where Roger saw him 4 times and once in the semis. Rafa didn't go to Wimby, US Open and Aussie finals regularly. He is average compared to Roger and Novak on those surfaces. Once Roger figured Rafa out and got the bigger racquet, Rafa didn't pose any threat. You're the delusional one. He went 1-7 against Roger in their last 8, the only win being during a tornado at the French, and 4 of those were straight set matches in about an hour. Once the backhand didn't break down on the Rafa forehand, Rafa had no weapons to beat Roger. These are facts, go and check the stats. It's funny how you losers were saying Rafa and Novak are better than Roger when Roger was the slam king, but not your entire arguments are based on the slam count. Roger is 5 and 6 years older, didn't make the racquet change like Rafa and Novak did, was always cheated against, and those two grew up knowing they had to mold their game around beating him. That is why Toni invented that ridiculous Rafa forehand to attack the one hander of Roger, but once he started taking it on the rise with the bigger racquet, Rafa could not beat him. Again, go look at the stats since the change, while Roger was still 5 years older than him. Novak is a self proclaimed cheater and abuser of the rules. Rafa is the weakest of the three. Roger will always be the goat in my opinion, and if you think someone is being delusional for thinking that, you're an idiot. Good day.
The arsenal Federer has is amazing. To many weapons.
Now, with the passing of a certain amount of time, it’s starting to dawn on me that we’re not going to see Federer competing again. As the old song about Robin Hood goes; “The like you are, not like to see, in all the world again.” 🎾🍾❤️
Its weird to see Mannarino with hair, while Roger has effectively looked the same
We see so many talents emerge, and there's Rafa, still grunting & grinding - and Novak, still slipping & sliding. In fact, this was the year of Novak's 43 match streak. Then we see the Master, and the magic wand he swings. The smoothest and most effortless player of all. We know who the greatest is without question. The greatest player is Roger Federer.
Today tennis is boring with the same playing style of players who keep trying to hit heavily. Looking at this great old-day tennis truely inspires me to continue enjoying this sport.
9:58 is such classic commentary - followed by peRFect evidence.
Whatever you say, 40-15 will be the biggest taint on Federer's career, I'm sure he'll sacrifice a few millions, just for that 9th Wimbledon trophy.
He won without dropping a set...tsonga was in form that year and even beat him in wimbeldon..
Still can't understand why he didnt defended this in 2012 which led him to drop his year end no.1 ranking
Road to victory
Step 1) get rid of the carpet
Step 2) lower the bounce
Step 3) speed up the court
Fin...
Mannarino with long hair will haunt my dreams
That court speed looks similar to that of a clay court. No wonder Roger didn't play much in this tournament later in his career.
Really curious than this is his only final and his only victory in Bercy
I wonder why he didn't win this in 04-07, I mean this masters was never his top priority but he almost didn't take it. Being a hardcourt and indoor is weird, for me as a Fed fan. Then you have 2010, 2013 and 2018, those years he made the SF and lost in really tight matches, 2 against Djokovic, one against Monfils having match point
It's because up until 2006 it was played on carpet, a surface Federer didn't really like. He often focused on Basel and the TMC, skipping this tournament.
@@MrTonyMartino Then in 2007-2009 the bounces were rally high and he did not enjoy playing there. In 07 he lost agaibst Nalbandian. 08 he got a back injury and forfeited before playing against Blake. In 09 he lost against Julien B In the 2nd round.
"TEENAGER" Rune's mental strength with 0 major/masters titles >>>> 21 time GS champion mental strength... Missed to put this comment yesterday in tennis tv😂😂😂.. Rune is the true strong era player🤣.. 21 time GS champion CHOKING against a nobody... Karma hits back so strong.. More to come in future

El Tenis sin Roger pierde bello, su majestuosidad no la veo en los fuertes, rápidos y jóvenes de hoy, con todo respeto
Would be nice if there were a video featuring all the times Federer wrongfooted Berdych. I can think of a couple...
Mannarino's hairline couldn't take it pressure anymore. it's stop growing after this match
without dropping a set
I think Roger had to play all the Frenchmen in the 2011tournament except Monfils.
Is this in a name. The same forehand can be played by 100 other players, But why RF's look someway more elegant.
I remember this final not as good as 2010
LOL Mannarino with hair🤣🥲
Mannarino had hair???

back when Mannarino had hair 😁
Adran Mannarino had hair! Thought he was born bald, lol.
I've known Mannarino more time with hair than without...
