I started playing this game two months ago, probably the PSP game I was most interested in. I was halfway of the game but I got distracted with other games, so I should go back. Maybe I should had played the European version, the American Soundtrack is just noise to me.
I'm pretty sure you can mutitask, I've sent zombies to destroy archer towers and I just move around while they did that. But you can't do that for objetives that require a number of zombies (like making a zombie bridge).

It seems to work with orders that involve destroying something (like the towers), but anything else in my experience is cancelled. It's mostly an issue when you almost finish getting every zombie into an objective and then some grunt pokes you in the back and you have to start the whole thing.
