It is crazy that is not a complete bench and they had catch bars which is more crazy he said safety but they had 4 guys there but most importantly yea not touching the chest is crazy

The barbell is much easier to max with for someone just starting out like Malcom. Dumbbells are tough because he hasn't built the stabilizing muscles yet so you will notice how wobbly his arms are when pressing them. That is because he hasn't been in the gym long enough to build those stabilizing muscles. 225lbs is impressive for someone that hasn't worked out regularly.
I agree. For me if I'm starting back in the gym after a long pause, I do dumbbells then barbells. Because it's harder (pause 👀) and it works on the stabilizer muscles better. It also means Mal has a lot of brut strength.

When you are spotting someone struggling with dumbbells, never lift from the weight. Instead, push under the elbow and up. Almost as if you are trying to straighten the arm out. It will stabilize the arms and support them.

lol im not an expert but i think doing the dumbbell presses inclined( high or low) would be safer than supine position. Glad no one was injured n great vid! Very inspiring😁
yall had me stressing with the dumbbells bro all love but it's better to just not max dumbbells and if you do hand it to them at the top and then go down and up for the rep. Just doing it like you usually would when you're repping dumbbells is very prone for injury but thank God there was none in this vid. Awesome vid though as always Cash!
