as a Vietnamese and a fellow Hanoian myself, i really appreciate you for making a video about us. tho Hanoi is insanely cheap (maybe compared to the rest of the world lol), i would not exactly say it is the cheapest. to be fair it's one of the most expensive cities in Vietnam, as it is the capital haha

Hey man, do you eat nem with salad though ? I've always eaten with salad but sometime in the restaurant they don't give salad.
Also i wondered how you prepare fish sauce ? I saw some use vinegar but i never used vinegar. I always used lemon, water, sugar to dillute the nuoc mam.
Just curious if i'm doing the right thing.

I spent some time in Bodhgaya in India in 2007. I had my own room for 50p a night, breakfast was street food for about 15-20p. Lunch was a thali for 30p a day. Dinner I went mental and splashed out 80p to a £1 in a westerner's restaurant. Was living comfortably for under £2 a day.
But that story has changed now or at least the amount ain't work well nowadays
Not that much. Bodh Gaya is a pretty rural place, you can live pretty good at that price
It's almost 20 years ago though. A lot must have changed and I suppose things get a lot more expensive post pandemic, besides the usual annual inflation.

I miss vietnam, its not even about the prices, the people were so friendly and helpful, despite the language barrier 😢 One of the best countries i have ever been.
They're a mixed bunch like any other country.
They (locals) don't trust each other in the city, which proves it.
Prefer rural culture, but still plenty of issues a tourist wouldn't usually find out about (I was in a relationship with a viet girl for 4 years) ..stuff like hating people from a certain region within Vietnam etc. I've seen and heard enough believe me.
Not necessarily cheap for them but rather based on the economy of the country making it cheap in western countries.
