You're right-- when you almost forgot the bonding powder, I was yelling " No, no, no" at the screen. I just unpacked my crafting supplies after a move and couldn't remember how to use my sticky embossing powder. This is a timely video. Much love!
Happy Saturday, Christine. I have a nice set of gilding flakes from IndigoBlu called Yorkshire Dales with gold, copper, light blue, light green, and dark green flakes. I do have a medium dark blue pot I haven't used yet but most of my flakes with any blue in them are in mixed pots. Not all companies have the nice big flakes though so there are a couple that I can't just pull the blue out of. I'm looking forward to the start of advent season! Only one more day. I made three swags out of the tree remnants and my daughter made a large double sided one. It was so satisfying get lovely decorations out of the disaster. I have lots of bits and bobs I've saved through the years to use for decorations so it was fun pulling then all together. Today's shopping with my daughter day. It's been an annual tradition for quite a few years now. Shopping and lunch to kick off the season. Cheers! See you tomorrow.
It all sounds wonderful! We have our littlest granddaughter with us this weekend, we’ve been shopping and then she wanted to make invitations for a little concert she’s going to give to her family! Lots of glitter!!!!!!!!!😊
YAY Chrissie! Something new to me and a brilliant way to use my languishing flakes. As always, a great new tip or three from you.. I have a much loved small Fiskars trimmer, from my early days of crafting, which I recently brought out of retirement. HOW did I ever thinkt NOT think to trim away from me with it for ALL these years?!? Asses ears here! I bought a load of spare blades before they upgraded to the newer design so am set for the rest of my days for small pieces of quick trimming. LOVE the end results from you - as ever - beautiful work and a joy to watch. Di x
@@Chrissieannie Remember Chrissie, I've met and spent time with you in perso when Darnell came over and I imstantly knew I liked you even more in real life. So I'm speaking/writing from a bit of an advantage point. They don't come any better! Di x
Beautiful cards, love seeing old techniques and products being used. Too many hidden away in drawers and forgotten. I'm an Indigo Blu fan. I transfer my flakes to one of those small rectangular clear boxes with blue handles that click shut to secure the lid. Lets me pick out the flakes I want and stops them blowing away when I open the tub , as well as being easier to return unused ones. I will never forget a dear crafting friend doing a live workshop showing the new gilding flakes technique via vimeo years ago, it was middle of a hot summer and she forgot she had her desktop fan on 😅
Thank you for your wonderful tutorials. Your inspiring videos are how I’d like my cards to end up looking like. I can only hope. Take care and love to all.
The gilding flakes look so dramatic used on black card for these two cards Chrissie using the Bonding EP. I have used the WOW one but have not had great results with it but seeing you use this Stampendous one with very successful results, and giving us a few tips of how to use them perhaps I will have another go. The little pearls you used looks so pretty as a finishing touch. x
I think I may have the Wow powder too, if you try again and keep the heating minimal you may find you have greater success. It took me a while to realise why I wasn’t getting the anticipated results, but for me the melting of the powder was key!
It must be over 10 years since I used that sticky stuff - until my granddaughter was diagnosed with asthma I used it for glitter, but I don't use glitter any more. Also - I have that agapanthus stamp, it is beautiful! Two gorgeous cards, definitely posh! X
Seatbelt fastened here Chris, as I anticipate an exuberant ride toward the festive season. Mr Snowman looks dapper with his top had and mistletoe. TFS ⛄☃⛄
@@Chrissieannie Whoops! I've no idea how Mr Snowman's comment clambered into this space, but the Christmas Elves may have had something to do with it! This card is shimmery and elegant, I love the technique, especially on a dark background, as you've demonstrated so beautifully here. TFS Chris.
Forgotten about my Stampendous Stamp and Bond ! Brilliant timing going to dig it out after I've opened my Day 1 Advent Calendar 😊 . Resulting cards are beautiful
Hi Chris, firstly cosmic shimmer do a blue gilding flakes called blue ice,it's really pretty,,there are some really lovely colours on the market. The effect is beautiful, love them, The cards are very pretty , thanks for the lovely demo 😁
I love waking up and seeing your creations and wonderful ideas. I don't always comment but know that I am following you from across the pond daily!!! This came out great. I think I will have a play with the flakes today.
Love it. My powder is called stamp and stick. Bought it ages ago after a class. We did a Christmas tree with it but I forgot how to use it! Thanks so much Chris!
Hello Christine. Excellent , je ne pensais pas que une seule application de clear embossing powder suffisait pour faire coller les glanés. Merci . C est très joli 😍👏👏👋👋👋
These cards turned out so elegant and didn’t take much time at all. Useful for many occasions Beautiful and tasteful designs you are incredibly talented in creating a unique and beautiful card ❤😊
Am sat here watching and when you start getting the flakes out I am holding my breath ha ha thanks for the tutorial as I have some of this sticky stuff and now I know how to use it xxx
Very nice cards Christine. You've reminded me of things in my stash I've not used in a very long time. I'll have to hold off using the gilding flakes until I stop coughing or I'll decorate my room 😮. Some simple cards that would work for lots of occasions, especially sympathy. Thanks a lot.
Both cards are beautiful! Reminder to get out my gilding flakes, and maybe make some Christmas trees! Great idea today so thank you so much!❤ your inspiration is remarkable!🥰
Beautiful card Chris. I think I will have to get myself some "sticky embossing" powder. I can't believe I don't have any. I did find some blue gilding flakes, they are Spectrum Noir brand and I think I got them in a multi-pack with pink and another color. I am so excited for December because of the Gummiapan Advent calender too!
These are beautiful! What is the name of the scrubby tool you used? I hunted and found both sticky powder and mica flakes in my 'stash'. Can't wait to try this.
Oh my, I've never heard of sticky embossing powder either. Would the building flakes just stick to the print you made with the versafine. I've Completely changed the way l make cards since I've been watching you. 😊
No, gilding flakes need some kind of glue to adhere to a surface. The sticky Embossing powder is simply a glue in powder form which needs heat to activate it!
Honestly, I've never come across blue gilding flakes, the ones I got from Temu weren't like gilding flakes at all but, kinda swarf from tooling metal, quite rough and very obviously colored, not a great success.
I've just set my room up and already need more space!
There speaks a true crafter!😊🤣❤️
Lovely video thank you . I do have some of that powder and I had no idea how to use it
I am grateful to you as I do now and will try this technique xx
Glad it was helpful!
