- Something rotten is brewing beneath the industrial mecca known as Raccoon City. Unknown to its millions of residents, a huge underground bioengineering facility known as The Hive has accidentally unleashed the deadly and mutating T-virus, killing all of its employees. To contain the leak, the governing supercomputer, Red Queen, has sealed all entrances and exits. Now a team of highly-trained super commandos including Rain, Alice and Matt must race to penetrate The Hive in order to isolate the T-virus before it overwhelms humanity. To do so, they must get past the Red Queen's deadly defenses, face the flesh-eating undead employees, fight killer mutant dogs and battle The Licker, a genetically mutated savage beast whose strength increases with each of its slain victims.
Love how a programmer/hacker needs to concentrate and they just scream Hurry Do it faster Go
I can't imagine why on earth they would be stupid enough to shut down the Red Queen BEFORE asking why she went homicidal. I mean, come on... she hasn't killed off the team yet, even though you know she's more than capable of it, with the way she handled everyone else... but then the movie would be over, and we'd miss the awesome zombie action.
when the women in the water opens her eyes at 0:34 it always freaks me out like i get shivers down my spine
woah!!!, almost all the team are slice and diced, that a cool security system, the only flaw is if there a hacker with faster typing speed and the ventelation shaft.
lol I remember this scene when I first watch this when I was very little, my uncle said it wasn't scary -.- bastard, I literally cried with fright when the laser started slicing those people
i would have just kept my back to the door at the end of the laser trap thing...
gotta feel srry for that one guy he kills like half his squad on accident and ironicly lives till like the end lol
Wait, is it ever explained in the movies as to why they couldn't access the Hive's computers, security etc at an offsite location or that the Red Queen didn't have programming to warn Umbrella that there was a T-Virus/whatever outbreak there?
I have asked myself that question over and over again since I found out mega corporations make poor governments
Ah,those laser defense systems. "Deja vu anyone?" Yeah as a matter of fact I recall some defense like that in Resident Evil 4.

The fence part reminds me of Tom and Jerry! (the part when the black badass gets cut up.)

...anyone just realize that the Red Queen is the only thing in the entire RE franchise that's actually holding back the zombies? If it weren't for these fuckups and Umbrella sending in teams down in THIS shithole, the WHOLE crisis with zombies could've been avoided.
I think its freaky when the lady says "poor bastards.." walks away, then the 'poor bastard' wakes up

My favourite part. Still though, I never understood why there are no ponds, puddles, rivers, seas, waterfalls of blood, there should be lot of blood if you're slaughtered.

Agreed, but then who would've thought that a zombyfing virus was released. Only those in top positions of Umbrella would've know about the virus, and the people who gave the order to go in and investigate were probably just mid-position technicians who had no way of fathoming such a virus being created. What's even more stupid is that they decided to reopen the hive in the beginning of the second movie even when they fully understood the situation.
One was the best character in Resident Evil. All hands down.

Well, I've never played the game, nor seen this movie...
But red queen? The Red queen race? Alice in Wonderland?
Isaac Asimov also used it to demonstrate the predestination paradox. It's also been used to illustrate advancing technologies and evolution niche theories.
Guess I'll just have to watch to find out. :)

that laser bit was like a SAW version of "bring on the wall" which is a gameshow were celeberities have to fit into a tiny gap in a foam wall which is coming towards them at speed

Well if all those genetic mutations/creatures were to get out of their chambers than it would become a dining hall for sure, a feast of humans dining hall!
After watching them & listening to their reboot / reset plan(s) for its processor / motherboard, the AI Red Queen activated its [LEVEL 5] weapon system which allows its red hot (Photon thin) laser beam to activate at different levels, with different shapes &, or anticipate its opponent's movement to reach its supercomputer core, etc.
Due to The Black God Man's agility, etc the Red Queen anticipate it's going to need those different shapes to kill him since activating at different levels failed.
yup pretty much & not trying to be sarcastic when I say this but it's really shame who ever didn't catch on to these details it's like why are you even watching the movie??? oh you're a " fan " of the videos games?... I see...

when the girl opens her eyes omg the first time i ever saw this i fucking cried so godam hard that i couldnt go anywhere near the dark for a month but seeing how i was little back then nowdays i find it funny thow that part still makes me jump when i forget it happens

@CitySkyy The lazers were probably superheated and so when they cut, they burned (and pretty much sealed/clotted) the surfaces of whatever they touched and so prevented any bleeding to actually occur. That or the movie makers were too lazy to add fake blood. Just theories.

If that was Leon Kenndy in that Laser room .. who would have survived, all that would have happen to him is his hair would get a little Trimmed
@lich109 hey guess what. It was a hidden defense that triggers when you open the door so and the red queen triggered it because 1. They were unauthorized personal and 2. She had a cameras to see what they were doing and also what kind of decryption code they were using

i think the lasers burn so hot it cauterizes the wounds as it cuts through them, thus no blood but i am not 100 % sure on that.....

Really, the guy who had 4 fingers cut off and cauterized died from shock, hard sell for the makers of the flick but the movie is good so it can be overlooked.

why do Zombie have different strengths and weaknesses in every movie
Some run
some cant drown
some survive headshots
some can speak
some obey other zombies
some uses weapons
some use guns
some even know how to be a sniper
some are unaffected by fire
but what all of them have in common is they cant feel pain and are unaffected by age

umm...that laser hallway is a bit glichy. Why do they stand in the midle when theres laser free space at the doors? they all could have survived it.... makes expirienced soldiers look dumb :S

@ThisIsAtomic LOL Actually, nevermind. I just spotted of how the laser managed to avoid the bag. The first 2 waves were just one laser and it only go thru the higher height. The 2nd wave showed that it go thru low to high but even at the low height it actually shows it just missed the bag. The 3rd only sprang widespread on the 2nd half of the hallway while the bag was in the first.
