Big disappointment:
Still only one HDMI.
Still only one sub. No possibility to have 2.
Form factor of the speakers are way less convenient than the previous model.
Sony hates giving their customers 2.1 hdmi ports.
This is the innovations !

I don't understand why they don't just offer the OPTION for people to buy a Centre Channel Speaker. They didn't offer it with the HT-A9 and here we are again.
Have you tried a virtual center? its really good, I actually prefer it on my main system, I have a Kef Atmos system with receiver for 9.1, and I own a center channel, but when i bypassed my center channel and used the 2 towers as the virtual center it sounded amazing, I should be clear here, it didnt sound bad to begin with, but by bypassing the center and using the virtual center it feels more like a movie theater.

At £2,499 without sub?? expensive. Plus, you'll need to own Sony bravia tv for the centre channel. Quad theatre + sub sw5 + tv 65" = £6k plus😢 might as well go for nakamici Dragon's full set, and you still have money left 😅

I agree with some comments in that the Ht-9’s would fit a normal living room better these would need a specific home theatre layout.
Hopefully they greatly improved the wireless reliability over the HT-A9. It's almost unusable.
Work very well for me and for many people. Problème comes from your set up / location
@@thomasmorel1447 Wide open room with no obstructions and mesh access point in the same room, line of sight. It's NOT my setup. You're lucky, this is a huge problem if you research it.

It's a shame that they've moved away from the design of the HT-A9. I find the cylindrical version nicer to integrate into the living room. Instead of the beige color, I would have preferred it in silver. It's also a shame that the new system doesn't have 2-3 HDMI inputs. Especially for Apple TV, Sony PlayStation, etc., the box would have needed at least one more HDMI input. I don't want to need yet another switch box. Apple TV on my Sony TV is unfortunately not possible as it is from 2013. I don't want to replace it because it still works perfectly. The option for a center would be great, because not everyone has a Sony TV that can be integrated.

Linus was really impressed with the HT-A9 so much so he installed them in his own house.
But then he realized they were trash so he replaced them with real speakers
Looks like some kinda slimline PlayStation with its own integrated stand!
Looks amazing but I've been burned out on wireless audio setups. Here's to hoping this product is consistent with its connections. Would be more attractive if there was a wired port option.

Sony, you guys should send me one to review. I did a review of the HT-A9 and numerous setup, how to and movie sound reviews using it. I probably got you guys hundreds of extra customers who bought it.
I’d love to compare the new one with the A9 and do a good review for it.

I just got these speakers.. they sound great at high volume, but there is a lot of white noise at low volume and a loud fan in the control box.. must say im a little dissapointed SONY :(
What about power? Is that wired?
I want exactly that but with 16 real speakers of those not just those 4 - that would be awesome and the option to include three SW5 and one I-beam and put 4 of those up the sealing to downfire Dolby Atmos and the other 12 speakers around you and not only 16 phantom speakers, I want 16 real ones and 64 phantom speakers with this system! That would be awesome!
Also: how does this system compare to the HT-A9 Soundwise and also has this System the same problems with Bluetooths and wlan connections like the HT-A9 (no hate I use it with LAN only but you can’t use Bluetooth or wlan with it on other systems or devices because the HT-A9 than over time gets connection problems, so how is this on this theater quad system?

@@TheIrfan38 I get it but why not do it for pro version with real speakers and more realistic Atmos sound and real channels from above, would sound better and the „3D-Scan“ of the room and the easy setup is awesome, could easily beat typical AC-Recievers and 12.4.4 set-up‘s when they would really make greater sets…. Would be doable ✌🏻
@@SiliconSpirits maybe, but a real good 12.4.4 system is pricier or in the same price range so 🤷🏼♂️ I would try it (currently owning the HT-A9 and a Denon-12.4.4 setup) but would be dope if Sony would do something like that and as easy in the setup and with as many options compared to like a Denon Av-Reciever…

I like the look of this, but wonder if the Dragon offers way more bang for the buck
From the low end side of the house the Dragon looks to be far superior to this setup. 2 dual opposed 8" drivers compared to a single 7ish" driver and passive radiator. However the one benefit to the Sony is if you have the new Bravia everything should technically just "work"

This is made to be more compatible with walls, and IMO they do look better there, otherwise look IMO about the same.
