@@geemy9675 yeah no that not correct ... currents always flow in and out, high or low tide and with the winds help they can become waves ... a river flows in one direction except where it meats the sea which again is dictated by tidal flows ... even open sea is subject to tidal movements and the wind is what causes waves and evan looks like it's moving all over the place
@@ritchiewarnes7759 He's right, though there is a connection in most cases, so I wouldn't say they're completely unrelated. In many cases they do go opposite direction from main current. They're called eddy currents, and it's not just an electromagnetic phenomenon. It's what contributes to river meandering. Erosion along edges of rivers will speed up eddy currents, which will cause the main current to apply even more force on the eroded river edge, causing a stronger eddy current, and repeats until an oxford bow is created. Also, the most common occurrence of current opposing the main flow are during ebb flow and rip tides.

Nope. Square waves are the weirdest waves. Also, the most helpful as they warn you that you about to have a bad case of “death by dying”. Square waves = run/swim/drive/fly far away from where you are currently.
It's pretty common in the south west french Atlantic coast. That just means there are different path of current , nothing is dangerous if you know how to swim in the current.
That's a very energetic rip tide. Usually the telltale sign is when you see 2 waves converting and break on each other. Those waves SLAM into each other
