I think if I spent years hanging out with big wave surfers, put in tens of thousands of hours learning and practicing, and dedicated my life to this... I could one day become a professional jet-ski assist person.
It's something unique, unexplainable, almost out of this world. When you see a wipeout it's hard to believe how someone can escape from a billion tons of water! Looks like a miracle you're witnessing with your own eyes.

wow I had the same nightmares as a kid. i also dreamed huge nuclear rockets emerging from the sea, with the statue of liberty sinking. and those weren't even nightmares, I mean: that was cool af.
I visited Nazare in 2019 and enjoyed standing on the beach watching some 3m or so waves that I thought were pretty impressive. Not sure I would have stood there with these.
I cant imagine the vibration those waves must generate on the land. And beeing on a jetski and seeing a 30m wave infront of you must be terrifying. Imagine the tall 5 story buildings. Those are 15-20 m
So scary but so beautiful at the same time! Still till today since i was a kid, i find these walls of mother nature such a sight to see. As a kid if i had any nightmares or bad dreams, there was almost every time a big wave or tsunami involved...dont know where that ever came from because i live below sea level in Holland 😅 and never encountered big waves except on vacation. But i need to see this at least one time during my life in person🌊
What a story Ruben! best way to overpass fears is to face them so YES you must came to NAZARE at least one time. And if you really want to FACE that fear you can take a trip to get out there in the water!
@@Ruben1987 Yes Mate can be by boat and see the waves from inside the ocen, always in a safe spot but just being far out feeling the waves passing under you is an AMAZING experience! Some of these beasts are higher than the 2011 tsunami. I LOVE surf vids, and I am DETERMINED to learn to surf one day! I have high functioning autism and I have always struggled with my coordination and spacial awareness, however driving has helped me no end with that. The waves are my next conquest :) The most amazing part is watching the surfer emerge from under the crest, just when you think they have washed up, they come shooting out the other side of the wave! Phenomenal stuff.
The 2011 tsunami wasn't high really, it was a fraction of the size of these waves. Tsunamis like we've witnessed in recent times aren't about the height of the waves (as they're really not that high) but the power behind them pushing them to sure.
They're big!! They're huge!! They're monstrous!! Try to imagine a 10-story building blowing up on top of you. It's something like that but 100 times worse because looking at that wall that is about to swallow you, the feeling is that you can't survive a thing like that. It's hard to explain in words, it really is
Crazy and how crazy it is no? + My Channel has been hacked and they deleted all my content if you can help sharing to get back some views and suscribers I will really apreciate! Cheers!
From my point of view, Scoob's wave was 1st place. Not only because of the wave, but he drops the entire wave, vertically, to its bottom, before exiting it. But all these guys are true heroes. I live in Leiria, about 20 minutes by car from Nazaré, and could see it in person a few times. But even on RUclips, I'm still scared every time I see them. Wonderful video, no music, no slow-mo, nothing. Just the waves and the insane folks who are crazy enough to drop these monsters.

Those aren't waves. Those are moving mountains of water. Holy crap. That has to be beyond frightening, being on the face of one of those. I expect that is true even when you know what you are doing at world class level, that and exhilarating as hell.
