I have to agree on the “if you are not happy”. Then my void happened again when my hubby passed after almost 4 years of fighting cancer. I had to find myself again. Now a couple of years into this next life adventure and I purchased a small class c and have gone out only 2 times and I did very good. Now I will admit I was in a paid camp area only 30 min froM home but it is a start. Now next season I’ll be out more and more and have several plans. Thanks to you and several others ....

5 months ago, I started watching your videos. Bought a Transit Connect, did the minimum build out and have been on the road full time now for a month. Your best advice was, “don’t overthink it”. Just go for it. You were so right. True inner peace in my life now. Thank you for being so authentic and real! Never miss your videos. Cruise is a real highlight ❣️

Sorry to say Chrome, but most people will go through their entire life and never figure out that those “Things” you speak of will never fill the void they feel. Keep looking everyone. If you don’t like where you are, change your circumstances and keep looking. Maybe you will be one of the lucky few.
Dude Chrome, I'm really dig'n how you are so in-tuned with your inner self and aware of your spirituality. Not many folks can open up to the universe and receive the wisdom that is available out there for grabs. You are right. Happiness is an inside job and nothing, no materialistic, picture perfect sites or fancy toys can change that. You're awesome.
one of the major things that make me want to go vanlife was a question someone asked me "if there was a fire and you had 5 minutes to grab what means most to you what would you grab" when i looked around at my apartment and the things i have collecting dust i started to actually think about what i actually cared about in my house. I was surprised at how little of my crap i actually want, the list was like 3 pieces of art, my computer, and a quilt my grandmother made for me. Everything else was kinda pointless and it occurred to me that with the right build i could actually have the same comforts that my crappy rundown apartment building has and not have the massive rent bill to store a ton of junk i dont even want while at the same time giving me a chance to get out there and see new things and meet new people. when it comes to what i need to make me happy i actually know what i needed and am working on it a little everyday its something i realized about a year ago and its been a challenge but the end is worth anything and everything that happens to get there of that i am sure
Seriously. We have major fires here in so Cali in 2018 and we were suppose to be evacuated but ended up able to stay in our home but had to be on the ready... so I sat here for a week.... and even with all that time... the stuff I grabbed from the first initial “quick let’s roll” (and then stayed packed for the week in car) was oddly NOT much out of a 2800 sqft home. It’s rather surprising what we truly need to live! Never been the same since.... spending went wayyyyyyy down and I’ve spent covid pretty much getting rid of stuff that clutter our lives!! ❤️❤️

Cruz chasing chipmunks is the most adorable thing ever. When you next make cinnamon buns try putting the hot pan on a cotton towel on your bed and pile another towel or blanket on top. This will keep the heat in like an oven and you won't need to heat the pans a 2nd time. Saves on gas. Don't use microfibre towels or anything that could be damaged by heat. Anything that can take a hot iron would be fine. Thanks for sharing.

I just took my Tennessee native husband up to see Lake Huron for the first time. His reaction was much like yours. Our Great Lakes are gorgeous and I love that you're on Lake Superior.
If you are ever in Michigan find Blue Star Hwy along the Lake Michigan shoreline or Hwy 10 that travels across the middle, lower peninsula and I promise, you won't regret it!!

I know the feeling well. I took a different path. Living off grid in my van, in the Appalachian woods with a creek that I was able to purchase. My own sliver of paradise after a long journey.My van name...The Tin Can Cabin.

Girl, my son and I moved from Ohio to Washington state exactly a year ago. Our beds, some clothing, and five dogs were in my cargo van, and we sent everything else in the smallest moving box possible (so not a ton of stuff). Honestly, I wish we had left everything behind, and I’ll never do it again. Currently in the process of scanning all my photos so I can be mobile next year. 🚐❤️
This hit home; I did same thing in my first apartment would fill up house with stuff than sell than redecorate and than switch up: idk why Van life has helped so much I just feel better.

I was on the road full-time over the summer since loosing all of my work due to Covid, but gigs started up again so I decided to head back home to the Florida Keys. I do this a lot . Pull up to a piece of paradise like this set up my day camp and spend the day into the evening after the sun goes down. When my day is done I drive home 5 to 20 minutes and sleep in my own bed. Wake-up next day and repeat. So lucky ! Love Canada
It is a life like no other. It’s been a bit similar as an otr trucker, and the ex got everything else so I stay in my pickup when home. I don’t travel far but my places or either by the lake or campground. I love it that way.

When I was out in BC last month I used powerlines running along roads to be good spots for camping, they almost always have access trails leading to them with bush between you and main road. 👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟👍👍

Chrome, I have watched so many, many ,series and videos about builds and just information. I learned so much about why I wanted to live this lifestyle and why I was so unhappy in the 9-5 life. I've always been spiritual and loved being in nuture that it seemed right for me. When you wake up in the mornin and see more camper vans or motorhomes, RV'S Etc. do you feel that you tube or social media is just making these beautiful spots blow up and soon everywhere will be overun? Hey Weirdo, today you nailed it, when I moved into my boat, I left so much behind, generators, propane tanks, furniture, and lots of stuff I just left it to my son... he got it all... and I left, but boat life and vanlife have similar things in it, but when it's time for me to call it a day. I throw out an anchor, let the dog out on deck, relax watching the sun set, alot like you, I thought this was it, I had found happiness, but now after 2.5 yrs living in a boat. I realize, this isn't what I thought it was... now I'm selling my boat, looking for a van, stepvan, or bus to start over, one more time... this time on good ole tera ferma.... I miss going for walks, hikes, sitting on the beach of a river or lake, fishing for trout... or going hiking in the snow in my snowshoes... I made a mistake, but once this boat is sold, I'll get something else and take my dog with me cause life without a dog isn't life at all... it just existing... my dog gives me something no one ever has... yet... unconditional love... stay weird Chrome, and give your travel companion a hug, and have an awesome day, and a better tomorrow... peace out weirdo...

I live in the states, and it looks as if Canada has ALOT more available spots to pull off to park. We have them, but it just seems like they're everywhere in Canada! My mom was Canadian...I need to travel to see the country she was from.

In usa you we have lots of rest areas , public lands and national forest that you can over night. I find many dirt roads exciting if you are willing to drive farther in less likely to see anyone.
Hello Chrome. Thanks for taking me along with you. I live vicareously through you until the time I retire next February. I've been spending the last few years getting rid of my belongings. As I like to say : We spend half of our life accumulating stuff and, if we do it right, we spend the last half getting rid of it. I'm actively working on moving out of my cute little condo in downtown Montreal to go full time on the road, discovering that beautiful country of ours and the beautiful that make it what it is!!!! Keep the adventures going and keep the videos coming. Who knows, we might meet on the road soon! Give Cruzy a hug for me!

I dig this. Some notes:
1) if I were in your shoes, I'd have recorded all my record collection onto a zip drive, micro SD card, etc. just so I could keep my music & maybe still use it someday.
2) the only things keeping me from vanlife are my health, money and inability to drive these days (I haven't been behind the wheel in nearly 30 years.)
3) snagged some screenshots of that sky . Those were some good looking clouds. I take skyshots & if you like, I can send you some of mine sometime. There was a sunset years back and, without changing 1 setting on my phone's camera, I swear I took 6 shots and you'd think I changed settings between nearly every shot. Gorgeous!
