The reason why the Warriors of Hope is so much more scarier than Junko is because they’re real. Their traumas are real, what adults did to them are real. And how Monaca abuse and manipulate them is very, very real. There are a lot of people who can relate to Nagisa, understand what Kotoko went through, sympathise with Jataro and Masaru, and there are people who have met someone like Monaca or were like Monaca in some way but got better. And the fact that they’re kids can make a lot of people relate to them more. That’s kind of one of the reasons why people love Danganronpa so much. The characters are really relatable and felt real, they allow people to express how they can relate to them and form closer bonds, and the Warriors of Hope are no exceptions.
As much as I love Danganronpa’s art style, im not a huge fan of the 3D character sprites. Their textures are just too smooth and the characters faces aren’t really as expressive as the 2D sprites. I’m not saying the 3D models are bad, but the 2d models are far superior.

All their traumas are horrible, but Nagisa’s and Masaru’s breakdowns, in my opinion, effected me the most. For Nagisa, I guess it is just I can relate to how he wants everyone to expect high things from him. For Masaru’s, it’s the fact that he lives with the mindsets that heroes don’t get scared, thus him being hard on himself when he’s not over his trauma.
This game completely fucked me over tbh It was much darker than the main danganronpa story line. We got to see what the outside world was like and what was happening out there. The kids, though, completely fucking ruined me. They made me cry, a lot. Their parents were just so abusive and which lead to them being traumatized and wanting to get rid of all the adults because they were scared, besides Monaca. I want to hug all of them, besides Monaca. Also, as much as I hate Monaca, she was a great mastermind. Still hate that damn kid. Jataro, Nagisa, Kotoko and Masaru all deserve better and need a hug.

I really find it amazing that at least one of these kids, people can find comfort in them, y'know? The characterization of the 4 children antagonists with raw misguidance and trauma is a very special sentiment, especially for those suffering/have suffered similar circumstances. Monaca, while I hate her, is an important asset to show that the negative in that mental state can drive you to hurt everyone for fun, contrasting the innocence and pain of the other kids' mentality with her/junko's desire for chaos.
Well, I thin you can assume that his pain tolerance was really high as a result of the constant abuse - it's a coping mechanism your body uses without your knowledge. But even though, I'm sure it still must've hurt quite a bit.
i really loved kotoko and nagisa tbh as i learned more about masaru he grew on me and i felt bad for monaca near the end im ngl but jataro talks too slow it drives me insane so hes the only one i dont like

It was actually implied that Haiji might’ve sexually abused Monaca, which could be the reason why she molested Nagisa. And Haiji is Monaca’s half-brother, not step.
The way Monaca controls them, giving Nagisa the love he wants so much, beating Kotoko to show her she won’t be gentle like others. She literally learns it all from the manipulations adults do. Like when they’re in a relationship or in a friendship. She literally just copies what she has seen from adults to manipulate the other children and this is sad because in real life a lot of abusers learn these from a young age from their parents which later on turns them into the abusers.

The scene where the Warriors of Hope play with that guy's body is both horrifying yet somewhat wholesome. Just relpace that guy with a mannequin or a doll, and you got just some kids playing "zombie"
The fact that Jataro is the cutest kid I've ever seen and I will always remember how shocked I was when I saw him without his mask on. It's like when you start feeling things for a cute guy that complains about being "ugly" because he's been abused.
This is apparently an unpopular opinion, but I love all the kids EXCEPT Monaca. She reminds me of a manipulative person from my past who betrayed and traumatized me, so little green girl doesn't sit too well with me (plus I have a deep attachment and connection to Nagisa because expectation trauma oop) But even then, none of these kids deserved the cards they were dealt. I've played this game twice through (doing a new game+ now for achievements 😌) and the second time I actually had to skip through the executions because. It do b hurtin y'know These kids all need Serious Therapy and they need to be shown that there is a better way than the way they went about it in game (which from understanding, only happened because of Junko and Monaca's manipulation)
in summary someone please love these children in a genuine wholesome way they really need it. i genuinely believe that theyre not crazy theyre just,,, scared kids that saw no other way to make the hurt stop. yeah they did Some Bad Things, but they were driven by the hope of never having to be afraid again. having that sort of thing promised to you after being afraid and hurt for so long can probably push you pretty far, especially if youre just a kid
I actually agree! They have all been through so much, and I love them a lot! Monaca is the only exception. They were victims of a problematic society, and their executions are so unjust... They are so young, and have been through so much.
Monaca is the definition of despair more than Junko will ever be. She knew how to manipulate each and every one of their subordinates with their traumas and she knew damn well that they won’t even think of opposing her because they’re all kids and cannot control their emotions easily.
The actual plot: The kids were raging at minecraft and fortnite, So they decided to take over the world because of how bad minecraft is. Junko was raging as well so there you have it sisters.

Seeing this reminds me how much I love these kids 😭 Especially Monaca. She basically went through what all the kids did but a bit worse. (Servant is one of my least favorite characters in this game. I love Nagito in Goodbye Despair but I find UDG Nagito creepy asf)

And I honestly hate that people skip this game! Like you said it’s important to the story and I know a lot of people have bitter tastes in their mouths over Toko and don’t play UDG so they never get to see her improve and it makes me sad :((
@@jestafreak. Toko in UDG is absolutely amazing. While THH demonized her, UDG gave her more backstory and depth. It’s why she’s one of my favorite characters now.

nagisa mentioned that masaru could be potentially alive after he was "killed" since the kids stated he was missing so i assume the kids just gave him and jataro one hell of a beating, but didnt kill them and then either left them or threw them out in the city somewhere nagisa though? i have no goddamn idea how he survived since a giant metal arm fell on him, and unlike the others, he was caught in the explosion as well when the robot exploded. same goes for monaca, she was on her robot when it exploded and somehow survived an entire chunk of concrete falling on her. i guess it could be explained by nagito's luck since he saved her but ehhh

The way Monaca controls them, giving Nagisa the love he wants so much, beating Kotoko to show her she won’t be gentle like others. She literally learns it all from the manipulations adults do. Like when they’re in a relationship or in a friendship. She literally just copies what she has seen from adults to manipulate the other children and this is sad because in real life a lot of abusers learn these from a young age from their parents which later on turns them into the abusers.

The scene where the Warriors of Hope play with that guy's body is both horrifying yet somewhat wholesome. Just relpace that guy with a mannequin or a doll, and you got just some kids playing "zombie"

The fact that Jataro is the cutest kid I've ever seen and I will always remember how shocked I was when I saw him without his mask on. It's like when you start feeling things for a cute guy that complains about being "ugly" because he's been abused.

This entire game is just a giant example of how abuse can completely mess with a child's mind.
This is apparently an unpopular opinion, but I love all the kids EXCEPT Monaca. She reminds me of a manipulative person from my past who betrayed and traumatized me, so little green girl doesn't sit too well with me (plus I have a deep attachment and connection to Nagisa because expectation trauma oop)
But even then, none of these kids deserved the cards they were dealt. I've played this game twice through (doing a new game+ now for achievements 😌) and the second time I actually had to skip through the executions because. It do b hurtin y'know
These kids all need Serious Therapy and they need to be shown that there is a better way than the way they went about it in game (which from understanding, only happened because of Junko and Monaca's manipulation)
in summary someone please love these children in a genuine wholesome way they really need it.

I actually agree! They have all been through so much, and I love them a lot! Monaca is the only exception. They were victims of a problematic society, and their executions are so unjust... They are so young, and have been through so much.

when you think about it, the warriors of hope and the monokids have to be related somehow, I mean, monotaro (red) is seen as the "leader" So is masaru (red hair) when really monodam (green) is pulling the strings, like monaca (green hair) and monophanie (pink) is sort of like the "girly girl" of the group, like kotoko (pink hair)

Monosuke = jataro

the monokubs deaths are in reverse order than the warriors of hopes execution sequences

@@jestafreak. EXACTLY. This game is such an underdog, and some people actually suggest players to skip it... It is important plot wise, and it is refreshing to play a different style game. (Servant is one of my least favorite characters in this game. I love Nagito in Goodbye Despair but I find UDG Nagito creepy asf)

And I honestly hate that people skip this game! Like you said it’s important to the story and I know a lot of people have bitter tastes in their mouths over Toko and don’t play UDG so they never get to see her improve and it makes me sad :((
@@jestafreak. Toko in UDG is absolutely amazing. While THH demonized her, UDG gave her more backstory and depth. It’s why she’s one of my favorite characters now.

nagisa though? i have no goddamn idea how he survived since a giant metal arm fell on him, and unlike the others, he was caught in the explosion as well when the robot exploded.
same goes for monaca, she was on her robot when it exploded and somehow survived an entire chunk of concrete falling on her. i guess it could be explained by nagito's luck since he saved her but ehhh
